No, Flowey is not the original Asriel. The original Asriel's consciousness was lost upon his death. Flowey was a mixture of organic matter, Determination, and Asriel's memories. Flowey can be seen as a continuation of Asriel's memories, but he is not the "original" Asriel.

The main comic is relatively inoffensive, with a bit slow overall pacing because of the webcomic format, and a couple of somewhat stupid ideas (mainly how Asriel is restored via soul-fragmenting, though offset this time by the fact that there are repercussions).

The side comics are basically an enthusiastic content creator having fun with other AUs, possibly some with whose creators they're friends with. Basically Sliders, starring Frisk. Unless you mean the ones where Toriel and Asgore got together again and had another kid, but that'd be a really spergy thing to throw a fit about.

Sure I can bitch about anything, I just don't see anything so far off track to complain about.

Having Chara as an antagonist to any capacity doesn't make someone 'anti-Chara'. The comic has implied much of Chara's ire is because of an aborted genocide run anyway, so there could easily be more to it, and they've drawn Chara alive and well elsewhere. This kind of attitude is why the artist has made a post before asking people to stop harassing them just because their Chara isn't squeaky-clean.

Speaking of the two/his different forms, assuming you weren't spoiled how did you feel when you discovered who Flowey really was?

I knew Asriel was a character in the game and while I guessed that they could be Toriel's and Asgore's son I never saw that twist coming. I didn't connect it to the mysterious, small voice I'd been hearing during the flashbacks either.

As someone who loves Flowey, I don't really like Asriel - pre-game stuff is fine, but in any post-TP stuff he's often just depicted like he never did any of the things Flowey did, and didn't go through any of the trauma Flowey did. When people talk about saving Asriel or that doing so is the best outcome, they end up erasing Flowey, his actions and his consequences/trauma from the equation entirely, which kinda bothers me.

So I'm thinking, maybe Asriel fans dislike Flowey for a similar reason, except reversed? That he's a "dark stain" of sorts that hurt and ruined their innocent goat, or is the reason why Asriel can't be happy/saved?

Personality-wise, but also experience-wise. If he's referred to at all, it's through nightmares, but even then the nightmares seem to depict Flowey as a separate entity. I haven't seen a single nightmare that depicts actions Asriel did as Flowey.

For example, during his resets, he killed Toriel multiple times - at least once as a betrayal kill. Then he's saved, and goes to live with Toriel. He would never show the slightest hint that he ever considered her something other than his mother, much less killed her. Once he knows the truth and cares again, wouldn't that knowledge kind of haunt him?

I thought DR was horseshit in that regard, because it presented Flowey as completely separate, when it's more like everything dark that could lurk in a kind person. Which would actually be the point, since once he's gote, he completely owns up to everything he did. Stuff that explore him getting mad easier, finding himself toying with people unintentionally, or being occasionally meaner to Frisk than he intended behind closed doors, all those would make for a pretty great post-TP characterization. Same applies to post-TPs where he remains Flowey, a lot of interpretations just set him back straight to how he was at the beginning of the game, ignoring the journey he's made.

Shame really, a mixing the two would yield very interesting characterizations.

So I just finished Undertale, yeah I went for the pacific. Stayed up all night but it was a wild ride, I can say that it was way better than expected, really good shit even if I found it a bit too short.

Dunno, probably mid game around Snowdin, it's the part when you really understand how sweet and even a bit tragic monsters are while keeping the goofy lighthearted atmosphere, the village is also really comfy.
I also enjoyed the Waterfall Caves and the Undyne arc.

Lost a bit the enthusiasm in the hotlands, I understood the game was reaching its conclusion there

Fire and slime

Flowey and Undyne are the only good characters in the story. Papyrus works as comic relief with sans as his second. sans does nothing but get worse as you find yourself with a wall that's got nothing going for him besides Toriel and his brother. Toriel serves her function as the motherly tutorial guide and is effective but it only lasts until the end of the ruins before they're gone from the plot entirely. Alphys and Mettaton are self-explanatory. ASGORE would be much higher up there given his presence is there throughout the game, but he only takes up one, tiny portion of it.

What puts Flowey up high is that he's a shithead and he owns it. He's not conflicted with feelings until the shitty plot kicks in and is all the more interesting the less involved you get in to things.
Undyne, on the other hand, makes for a solid character with minimal ties to drama, despite the antagonistic approach to start. Papyrus would sit just behind her as he serves better when bouncing off commentary with her with their combined phone calls, but otherwise is just one-note.

You might not get to see a ton of Asgore but i'd agure that what you do get is really fucking good and worth it. His neutral stuff is top fucking tier and made me care about him more than any other character. His stuff in the other endings was kind of lack luster though except for some cute stuff with him and Undyne post TP. He's still a very strong character imo but maybe i'm just biased because everything he does have hit me really fucking hard. That's possible

Flowey has done a lot of shit.
Toriel is a clingy mother figure with a thing for puns purely so she has something to relate to with other characters aside from her shallow history with Asgore - however, she does fulfill her role as the tutorial and the 'emotional heartstring' for most players.
sans is fucking dead inside, tells puns and is easily the second worst in regards to what the fandom makes of him.
Papyrus is overly positive and often grating.
Undyne makes every other character around her more bearable with her presence and is the only one aside from ASGORE willing to do their job.
Alphys is a fucking weebshit that should've never have been in the game.
Mettaton is mediocre but is considered hot shit only by the fandom.
Asgore is decent and serves his purpose well.
Toby Fox isn't good at being subtle.

Its not exact but I sort of like Papyrus for the same reason I like Superman. Its nice to just have a really positive character every once in a while who is just a good guy. Yeah he has his depths like how hes too naive and self centered but hes still a very simple character and that's not a bad thing imo. I think it would be a weaker game if it wasn't for him being there to balance all the dark shit that happens.

I do enjoy Alphys but I feel like the lol anime jokes go a little too far and for a little too long and her stronger character moments are over shadowed by them a bit. I admit, I'm somewhat confused by this notion that certain characters are just plain 'unnecessary' for the game, especially since one of them is entrenched in the backstory, while the other ties heavily into the general 'get to know and befriend the monsters' storyline.
