If you were a pve player and not raiding in WOD there was nothing to do. Granted I think broken shore is a fucking joke compared to tanaan which did provide some enjoyment when it came out but content in general dried out really fast during WOD and almost everything could be done from garrison so there was even less of a change of scenery than usual.

Casters and enh shamans don't have a secondary resource but their abilities have cooldowns. DK abilities don't have cds so using runes effectively triggers a cd on your normal skills. It literally plays almost the exact same way.

It still doesn't change the gameplay that much. Like using SPriest as an example, Mind Flay generates a shit amount of Insanity compared to Mind Blast. Waiting for Mind Blast to come off cooldown is the same as waiting for 2 runes to regen for Oblit. The difference is that the cooldowns are tied to the skills themselves whereas for DK it's the runes that are "cooling down." Still plays the same in terms of hit Oblit to generate RP > hit Frost Strikes to drain it.
