After playing this deck for a few hours, the Divine Favor, Finja, and possibly the Tirion feel useless.

You either curve out in the first 4 turns with Warleader and Megasaur or you just lose. And that happens a lot more than it should. Tirion has won me a few Taunt Warrior games which is where the Kodo really shines too, so I think they're worth keeping. Favor and Finja just seem pointless though. I'm thinking of cutting them plus something else for 2 Corsair + Pataches. Not sure if anyone else has played this list and felt the same.

Sorry anon, only so much I can do against the horde of mages after like 3 or 4 wins.

Still, always avoided arena before (only got into it now because I've been away and as a f2p'er arena is the best way to earn packs) but I think I'm starting to get it. It's the "real" gambling part of hearthstone. Even going 9-3 felt so good, if you roll high you actually get something significant, and for only 12 total games. Once I got to 3 I felt like well I basically broke even with just buying a pack outright, anything after this is gravy. I was actually 7-2 and was still happy with that and yet I managed to eek out 2 more wins. I earned around 300 gold, or enough to do 2 more arena runs, plus a pack and a random card. I can see how you can "go infinite" if you just put all of your gold into arena over and over again, and you actually get that gambling rush because you can actually earn a lot if you get a good deck and a bit lucky.

Ladder on the other hand is just a grind, the same shit over and over, and the best you get is a gold epic (or 400 dust) at the end of tens or hundreds of games. I still do it because it's fairly easy and mindless and hey, free 400 dust, but I can definitely see myself getting more and more into arena now. Seems more fun, if gambling for free is supposed to be the draw of hearthstone (i.e. "rng is fun" and you get the thrill for $0).

Well what the spell version does is run shit loads of removal and has two ways to win, Renounce and/or Y'Shaarj. The thing with your deck is shit like cold light or youthful brewmaster won't turn into other cards. So if you Renounce you still have those shit cards in your deck.

In past seasons, I always struggled to get up to rank 10. This season I used' P4wnyhof's elemental shaman and easily hit rank 5 with 61% winrate. I love the meta it's so refreshing and nice especially when using finely tuned good decks. What decks are you using to climb this season /hsg/?

That's not true, statistically so far it's only losing matchups are slow druid (ramp, jade), mid pally, freeze, and rogue. Some matchups might change with optimizations/time but things like aggro druid will gain popularity when people realize it's nuts against rogue and most things but gets utterly cucked by Nu-Fedora.

I like this meta. They may have doubled down on the symmetric rock-paper-scissors they have recently created but at least there are different colored utensils than red and blue

As an aggro deck, Ivories just feel awkward and unimpactful. You can't shift gears midgame to a midrange deck, the rest of your list doesn't support that. Also Spikeridge grants survivability AND aggression which is just way better in general. not just here.

Bluegills are probably your worst 2-drop but its still better than Tidehunter because it gets immediate value and is not bad at all after a T1 Chum.Sometimes you get stuck with it as your only T2 play but thats Hearthstone.

Tide hunter looks appealing for the utility but the utility of bluegrill for the reasons you mentioned is very appreciated. It's a board face deck with a top end so think of 1 spikeridge as extra 4 damage face and a way to protect your snowball

I actually don't hate ivory knight for it's stall and possible draw value, extra gas is alwayd welcome- maybe the play would be to cut 2 hydras for 1 spikeridge and 1 curator (that card is the ultimate comeback/aggro mirror protection). Hydra is a bit of a liability when you already cuck control decks

I don't like being all-in aggro with paladin where if they have one good clear you just lose, I tried to make it more of an aggro-leaning midrange that could curve out well into around T5-6 roughly, being aggressive enough to BTFO quest rogues but being resilient enough to come back from even a few board clears. I also hate relying on shit like divine favor which is often a dead card in this meta with how many other decks drop their hands just as fast or faster than you, I prefer shit like stonehill or just high-impact cards towards the top end, it has felt more consistent instead of winding up with a literal dead card most of the time.

Yeah, also IvKn's were nice because they could occasionally fetch SpSt's. Dinosize is also incredible if you pull it, really anything 4+ mana cost. Hope AW's work out since I've owned 2 for the longest time and never really got to use them, the animation and sound is one of my favorite in the game. We'll see how it goes, just trying to get from rank 7 to 5 atm.

Yeah the common consensus seems to be bluegill so definitely going with that change. Bittertide is underappreciated I feel, without BGH around anymore it's very hard for most decks to deal with the hard way and there are very few outright punishes for it. I mostly wanted a card that would make up for getting cleared 2 or 3 times early, where if they used up their resources killing all of my shit I could finally drop the hydra and they couldn't deal with it, or it would allow me to hold back some of my murlocs so after they're done expending a bunch of resources to deal with the hydra, then I can drop murlocs afterwards.

It's like if they deal with the murlocs I can drop the hydra, if they deal with the hydra I can drop the murlocs. Generally one of them will win the game, at least when it comes to a battle of resources.

Not traditionally a Priest player but I actually really like playing Silence Priest and the new Dragon Priest, the old one was toxic but it's just an honest slow midrange deck that constantly fights for the board like mid paladin now without having to use overstatted early drops to snowball.

By the way Netherspite is almost 100% to hit Dr. OP now :^). I think it isn't seen on ladder because of last meta aftertaste and a penchant for shiny new things, but it's still really good. Fuck Ice Block

It's going to suck for ftp players. It's almost impossible to farm enough gold to but everything you need in just 4 months. Anyone willing to drop the $50/expansion preordering though is going to have a blast with all their new cards. Adventures are nice, but with only a few cards per class, they don't add as many options as a new expansion does.

what is the best midrange hunter list right now? i need to get to rank 5 and i need something to mix things up from aggro murlocadin.

I feel that. One of the reasons I mentioned it is I dusted a good bit of my goldens a few weeks ago to get my regular rag/sylv at least.
As for new Legendaries, I used some of that to craft Elise, definitely the top fun card on its own. Get cards, eventually play every card from the set.
It's not really GOOD though, unless you're doing Priest stuff or something else very fatigue-oriented.

I don't have any Un'Goro cards, is it worth crafting them for this deck?

I know I shouldn't complain about Hunter because they were so bad so long but Midrange is starting to really piss me off. All they cast is big balls of stats, they never stop any turn and they get so much value.

Jeweled Macaw could be even more annoying than Babbling Book because mostly it just helps them keep putting down minions and sometimes its some huge one that wins the game. All of their freaking minions have some sort of synergy, its so annoying. Usually just massing up a ton of 1/1 tokens and giving them all +1 or +2 attack but still. They just buff +2/+2 and add even more damage and even survivability.

Its funny because like Pirate Warrior they barely gained anything to the actual deck but the Macaws and fucking Adapt Dinos just made it so sick.

Its like, hehe wow you got a 6/9 taunt (just an example wasn't taunt warrior shitting it tonight) well here goes a 1/1 with poisonous and that kills it and I go in with no lube yaaaay!

In a way Midrange Hunter imho is the MOST cancerous deck because it really adds no flavor to the game and mechanics, its just a more refined version of the same exact shit we've been playing for 3 years. At least magic quests are kinda inherently cool and freeze mage got lots of different tools.
