Best dual weapons?
I have tried everyone and cant seem to get out of G. Twinswords. nerfed, but they are still pretty good.

I would play the FUCK out of a souls dungeon diver. A semi-persistent roguelike where each deeper level mixes and fuses more obscene combinations of enemies with boss levels mixed in-between.

Scales for co-op and invasions still possible but invaders hold just as much aggro as hosts.

So is it just me or are Oceiros' hitboxes all fucked up?

I can't even begin to explain how many times I've swung at him and my UGS seemingly went straight through a third of his body doing absolutely no damage

Summons huge demons that are immensely challenging and they change his affinity / weakness to attacks. There's 3 of them and if you attack with a weapon buffed / infused with the element he's weak to he'll be knocked down for a good amount.

Key is to focus him and avoid attacks from the demons, but if you kill the demons you can get different boss souls from them for weapon transposition.

Play 3 now since its still mostly alive, and the Fire Fades edition is coming out soon and will be a brief period of "almost like launch" when the game is full of inexperienced people you can have fun with.
2 is worth playing, but there's really not much downside to skipping it temporarily, and you'll probably appreciate it more if you give DaS3 time to annoy you with the shit it does badly that Das2 does okay.

I think that kind of defeats the purpose. It would be fairer to fully take into account all the negatives in each game.
If you're going to do this, though, maybe you could use the signature "easy mode" weapon from each game. That might give you an idea of which one is actually the easiest to breeze through.

Its flat damage, except Blessed Weapon which is garbage and will almost always add both less total AR and actual damage than an elemental buff

It works particularly well on the Lothric UGS because it has innate lightning damage, so you're already being hit by split damage reductions with just the base damage so any added lightning damage is actually just straight bonus damage.

Other than that, it doesn't particularly, other than just having more damage is always good.
I guess sometimes it might mean the difference between 3 hitting someone and 4 hitting them, in which case it is extremely significant, but I've never bothered to figure out average breakpoints for common health/resistances.

The thing is that DS3 has less spell variety and also hexes don't copy tons of things from sorcery/miracles, so hexing doesn't feel like being a master wizard, it feels like black-flavored sorcery mostly. In DS2 you're not only casting unique effects like Lifedrain Patch, you're also using reflavored and buffed versions of Force, Blinding Bolt, HCSM, and Soul Greatsword. Hexes just don't feel like the quality build of spellcraft that they should, and it doesn't seem worth the investment.

It seems like pyromancy took over the quality-spells slot and dark magic went back to being a few super-buff spells for each school, but pyromancy just doesn't have the same flavor as hexing.

Although I think if we had Scraps of Life and Recollection back there'd be something to hexes.

Pretty sure once two handed Great Axe has one of the highest buffable AR ratings at high strength. The B scaling is actually decent and it's damage is only slightly lower than Yhorm's Machete

The tradeoff is it's short range compared to most great weapons.
