The only real advantage nightblades have is the ability to hide for a few seconds (think of it as invisibility), which lets you just run through enemies you couldnt otherwise sneak around. You can roleplay a house pillaging thief as anyone, you just need to sneak, everyone sneak works more or less good enough for that.

It does add to the roleplay to be a stamblade though i find. And stamblades can 'escape' getting caught easier. But then you can just slaughter the entire town guard at high levels anyway so thats, again, just roleplay.

Honestly templar is better at all things. nightblades are weak and fragile and their only advantage is high burst damage.

Now, if you want to bypass mobs in a dungeon, nightblade will do that. You can run through the groups blocking the coradoors with your hide, but thats the only real advantage

Magicka templar is basically solo pve dicking around king and always will be since it can just spam an aoe attack that heals it. Drop a few other aoes in the meantime and you are a moderate dps healtank. Not to say its the best from all points of view, but its simple and straightforward and that means its hard to fuck up after playing for 20 hours straight.

You should be rolling a magicka sorc right now though to comply with the meme of everything but magicka sorc and warden being shit when morrowind comes out.

If you dont care about that and want to roleplay a sneaky thief then go stamblade, there will be suffering, but it feels right to me. I rerolled a lot of characters and settled on that for this very reason. You will always be a fake if you become a sneakthief on anything else.

I've read that the Spriggan's Set is pretty good and I am currently working on my traits to get Nightmother's Gaze before farming Vicious Ophidian so I can dress like the best STAMBLADES.

Also check out the pages for the delve and world bosses for teh zone. Some drop special named pieces that have set stats. Like the ghost WB in bangkorai, drops spriggan 2 handed axe in sharpened as a named drop, always blue.

Your entire counter argument is that 'its good enough'. Ive not advised him not to play a stamblade, ive just warned him its pretty much the weakest class. its disingenuous to try and claim otherwise. Thing about nightblades is they have a lot of powerful self buffs and debuffs that are superfluous in a group context (because other group members can provide them) but are excellent in a solo context because not all classes have access to them.

Stamblades excel in PvP, to say they are shit there is just not right.

If you're advising him to pick only the best class and not every other class that's "good enough" then he might as well go DK tank only, Templar heal only, MagSorc as the only viable DPS. It's needlessly restrictive when you can do content with anything else. Not like overworld is hard, not like vet dungeons are hard.

Ive never recommended stamina templar, i only reccomend magicka templars. They are good at solo content.

One of the problems here is that traditionaly stealthy pve content is a combination of sneaking and then doing stuff once you have snuck somewhere. So say, bypassing a shitload of mobs to get to a boss, and then soloing it. A magicka templar is going to be better at that last part.

If they added special sneaky content like say, something equivalent to the vaults that morrowind had, where you are able to sneak in and basically get some of the best stuff in the game, then that would be that. Specialized stealth characters heavily optimized for maximum sneakiness would suddenly be a viable endgame role, and i would have no complaints.

Magicka nightblades are fun, they are my second favorite class.

You can do the daily heists and sacraments, do them perfectly you get te better reward box. Those have a chance of containing motif pages that you can sell for a decent amount. Same with fighters guild, mages guild, and undaunted dailies (two types of undaunted dailies, one that sends you to a delve, and the pledges that are 3 different dungeons that opens up at level 45). Those give reward boxes that have a chance to drop draugr motif pages. Besides that, world boss dailies in hews bane and gold coast, and if you have orsinium, world boss dailies in Wrothgar. All will contribute cash, items, and xp.

/tesog/, I'm playing my Nightblade khajiit, around 200 CP. Mostly solo, sometimes queue for random normal dungeons. Using Hunding + Ashens Grip at the moment, bow/DW.

I wouldn't say I have it too easy, especially compared to magicka builds I see when I group up. I am fucked in the next patch, right? I rely on the Medium Armor passive + Warlord, and I also spam Bloodthirst to keep up HP (its cost is increased by 60% in the next patch).

Also, why no changes are made to the Bow line? I've heard it's because of PvP, is that so?

The last TES where racials meant shit for dick was probably Morrowind, and even then it was mostly Dunmer and Nords being largely immune to fire/frost respectively and Altmer exploding into dust if a elemental attack so much as crossed within a mile of them.

If you find yourself taking aggro a lot you should try to shield yourself or roll away as much as your resources allow (depending on fight if you need to save them for mandatory blocks/break frees like Direfrost) and if you have to focus on the highest level DPS in the party, if you see someone at CP600 with monster helm effects going off at least make sure they live.

Really its just a shitshow because its not what you built your character for. There are options you can put on the bar to try and help mitigation but everything you do in that regard is going to cut back on your overall support/healing/dpsing.

What class are you? Also if you are at CP160 you might want to consider playing around with some other sets/skills to see how that helps, I'm the NB healer and I run a crit build with combat physician and I have a field of rolling HoTs going out at ~50% crit rate. Combat Physician procs a shield on anyone I crit heal with a 6s cooldown so it can give some buffer if people decide to run away from the healing springs/combat prayer. Trying to save ultimates for high damage moments is crucial too but that comes with more experience.

I have a templar but don't heal with it cause I'm a hipster. Cleansing Ritual is solid but its mainly for the on demand purge/heal vs being a straight heal. From what I've seen with Templars you have less of a focus on healing over time and more of a focus on burst healing everyone. I would slot Healing Springs for the small magicka return in low damage situations, drop mutagen if you are just using cleansing ritual and if you can use Radiant Aura if you want to try and apply magickasteal + improve your regen. Mess around with Healing Ward or Ward Ally up to you and get a feel for using it for low health allies as thats what buffs it to be a very strong shield giving you the time to heal people up.

Magicka is going to be your big concern so maybe even trying Honor The Dead instead of Breath of Life considering BoL is getting adjusted anyway.

Can it be done? I want to use fire, ice, and lightning magic to be some kind of elementalist mage, preferably sorcerer.
Only question is where to get my source of ice damage to proc winterborn from. Fire and lightning is just liquid lightning and fire blockade. Would force pulse be enough to proc all three effects? The 8% proc chance looks pretty low but it might be good enough in practice.

I don't think a phone camera would either. You can see the watermark with your eyes if you find a good spot with lots of contrast, it's alternating white/black text with your account name. Take a phone pic and it'll still be there, it isn't something hidden in the in-built screenshot function, it's part of the display.

Back when GW2 had a supposed leak of it's second expac the leaker had taken a phone pic but the watermark was still present. A "helpful" community member even fucked with contrast until their account name was visible in an attempt to see if it was a legit leak or not. They managed to make it legible so if that was real tyhat guy got fucked, and I doubt it'd be much harder to do the same with screenshots or phone pics of your screen for Morrowind.

whats the difference between vet and hm vet? only stats or does hm boss have other skills as well

For a scroll, just more health and mechanics that would one shot everyone but the tank will now one shot the tank as well. Other hard modes require you to certain things GS, like spindleclutch 2 you avoid killing the captives the boss leeches health from.

Obviously if you're using Tava's you should slot evasion on your bars but the others are fairly independent.

The thing is b/c evasion was nerfed 5% the first 2 aren't as good as before. Still usable though.

Current meta sets are ebon, powerful assault, and alkosh but those are harder to come back. Ebon is pretty easy to get though, few runs of CoH 1 or 2 on normal should get a set.

Ok, here are some of my thoughts. In the new trials, there are a lot of crowd control mechanics, like breaking out of snares such, that you'll have to deal with. Some of these others can break you out (like the spiderwebs on that boss in crypt of hearts 2), others you'll need to break yourself (like the healing on the final boss of direfrost keep). When you look at this in conjunction with the changes to sustain, my guess is two things.

First, they want to change the meta of stacking a single stat, like magsorc having a magicka pool of 50k+ with 14k health/7k stamina, and not bothering with their other stats. Be it glyphs or armor, they want people to have smaller pools and be responsible for their own survival, not just relying on the healers to share resources. By forcing you to have smaller main stat pools and more balanced off-stat pools, they can limit DPS a bit. This goes into the second point.

Secondly, without raising gear level, how do you make content more challenging? You can't just make a boss have 50% more health and call it a day. You have to introduce mechanics. And that is part of the problem with the current meta, vet trial groups aren't doing mechanics as designed, such as the lunar phase in maw, since they can brute force it with DPS. They want to get away from that, otherwise it will be even harder than it is now to get into a trial group unless you are a sorc. With the changes to sustain, people won't be getting their minimum 35k DPS to qualify to enter so that the group can ignore mechanics (I saw in a vet trial a couple weeks ago one of the magsorcs hit 76k on the first giant dro'mathra).

Best race for a magblade? Already have an altmer for a sorc (made him look as Aryan as possible), and a dunmer magdk. Looking at the skills, don't see too many fire skills, except for possibly blockade, that the extra 7% fire damage would improve.
