My guess was that because she was killed for her research, they wanted to make it so that th cause of death seemed as unrelated to that as possible. A random accident might seem too suspicious, so if she was known to have fought with her daughter and blamed her, with a dose of neurosis thrown in, it would be less suspicious. P4g done it much better having you go around town and each character has their own little chance to reflect on their s link and story you also went to a place special to them.
p5 didn't do that that well andthe group just going out to the beach wasn't really that amazing they just talked about the theme of the game and the protagonist looks slowly at the camera, it's so disappointing.

I made it to the second airlock section after 3 days of playing, ran out of consumables, SP, at critical HP, no more Sleeping grenades or Smokescreens. Not for any named characters. The JP cast for P5 is damn near flawless. I would say that while I liked the principal's voice for him, he was a little overused for NPCs, especially since he's got a very distinct voice so you can always tell it's him. Nothing even remotely as bad as having the fucking SIU director voicing real Igor in the dub though.
