To complete the task of recovering them more efficiently Geralt, Eskel and Lambert all head to different parts of the North to look for info about Salamandra. Geralt heads to Vizima, Triss also heads there, while Lambert sets for Kaedwen. Lambert is nowhere near Vizima, making any allegations of him and Triss fucking in the first game impossible.

The footprints that can be seen in Triss’ house in Vizima and allegedly belong to Lambert are first visible when Geralt wakes up in Triss’ bed, after falling unconscious during his battle with Azar Javed and The Proffesor and getting teleported there by Triss. It’s not like Geralt barges unannounced through the door of Triss’ house and says hello. It is clear that he has been unconscious for some time, and even if we assume that Lambert was there, he would never have to sneak through the window, he could just casually walk out the front door, since there is no threat of Geralt catching him in the act, which Lambert’s story implies.

Also the footprints are not outside of the window as some claim, they are inside of the house and lead from a bathtub to a dresser located next to a window and are clearly female and belong to Triss.

Another thing, Triss was busy teleporting Geralt, they arrive to her house together, so she can’t really have sex with Lambert at the same time. Unless Triss and Lambert have a fetish for fucking next to Geralt’s unconscious body, it makes little sense. At best they could have caught Lambert masturbating alone in Triss’ house, forcing him to jump through the window in shame.

And even if we somehow assume that Triss fucked Lambert, at that point of the game she and Geralt aren’t even together, she is a free woman and Lambert would have no reason to worry about hurting Geralt since Triss is only a friend to him at that point, another major inconsistency with Lambert’s story.

About your chapter, yes, what Triss did was wrong, but she shows tremendous growth since. That's one of the things I love so much about her. She is ready to work on herself and improve. Knowing that chapter makes her standing against the Lodge in TW2 and taking Geralt's side all the more meaningful. And in TW3 we can see the true nature of her ideals shine, as she assume the role of the leader of the oppressed mages, something that doesn't come easy for her. She also helps Gerlat in numerous other ways throughout the games, she directly saves his life 7 times, she gets tortured for Ciri, fights for her at KM and in the final battle, helps locate other members of the Lodge, she helps witchers defeat Salamandra and get their secrets back... Triss is perfectly imperfect, that's what makes her so fascinating.

Triss is an amazing character, she has a very unique set of qualities and flaws. She can be kind, sweet, funny and idealistic but also naive, jealous, manipulative and treacherous. She is insecure but capable of taking charge when the situation forces her, she commits both selfish and selfless acts and is driven by both personal and "higher" motives, which sometimes conflict. I think she is a very interesting character due to it.

And it's not like she didn't do some good for Geralt in the books, she tried her best to help Ciri in BoE (and in some ways she did) and even proposed him to seek Yen's help when she realized a more powerful sorceress is needed. Without her dragging Geralt half dead and begging Tissaia to teleport him, he would have died on Thanedd. She votes in favor of letting Ciri go see Geralt during the Lodge meeting. She grows as a person and overcomes her fears, saves Yen's life in Rivia and stops the pogrom. Condwiramurs even refers to her as venerable Triss and praises her courage, showing she has changed from that moment on, imo it was defining for her character.

Like I said, she also did many great things for Geralt in the games, she is the only reason Geralt is still alive and she proved her loyalty when it mattered, it's far from black and white with her. I really like that about Triss.

Well, I disagree. I personally love how Geralt acts around Triss and their dynamic as a couple. I like how you have to work on convincing her she is the one. I more mean that the entire idea of canon is weird and mostly not-helpful. I think it comes from a desire to historicize fictional worlds, and it's a *terrible* idea. I was never someone into the Star Wars EU, but wookiepedia is a living testament to the folly of canonization. Big franchises are really poorly suited to this kind of systemization, which is ironic considering that the idea of canon comes from the Church, one of the biggest franchise universes in history.

I really like how Morrowind handled cannon, re: the ending of Daggerfall. Previous game had 5 mutually contradictory endings? All of them happened simultaneously because causality broke.

There's no such thing as canon (and never was).

Letho living or dying in W2 is only determined by your play of W2. If the default save-state says he's dead, it doesn't mean that "canon" Geralt killed him because there's no such thing, there are lots of different reasons for deciding what choices we carry between games, or what characters get into the game and which ones get cut, mostly technical and production reasons, never because we want to establish an official story-state for reasons of canon.

The game stands on its own, and you are permitted to have your own relationship to the franchise based on the specific parts of it you chose to consume. "Canon" is loving stupid garbage. Someone says they didn't take Ciri to the Emperor because he's an abusive rear end in a top hat (becuase that player chooses to incorporate elements of his character from another source), that's fine. If another player choses to take her to the Emperor because none of those elements are part of this story, that's fine too, it's not an invalid choice just because you read a book where he's a jerk.

The Witcher games aren't your story. They are the story of Geralt of Rivia, a character that pre-existed the games and had a very defined personality and traits. If I play a game where Geralt of Rivia is the protagonist and have a choice, I want such choice to be the one that makes the game as entertaining (for me to watch) and adherent to the established lore as possible.

I loved Geralt and Yen bickering like a married couple and if you actually read the books, you probably would knew that such innocent banter was trivial compared to what they went trough in the past. I also loved having the possibility of making her mad or jealous, or seeing the cracks in her "I'm all about seriousness, plotting and getting the job done" act. Yenn is also written way better than Triss and has a personality which is more complex and interesting.

Whereas I found Triss extremely bland and stereotypical, especially in TW3 where, unlike Yen, she feels like an unimportant secondary character. Reminded me of the generic fantasy love stories featured in old bioware games... choosing her is like willingly picking a shitty two crown romance, to use Yen's words. If that is what you like, good for you. Just don't expect me to consider your taste as good taste.

The permacrit from aerondight seems good on paper, but it's not that good if you consider that you need to charge it (and by the time it reaches 10, half of the enemies in the encounter are already dead most times) and keep it up without getting hit once. Also, you can easily reach +40-50% crit chance with a combat/alchemy build, having 100% is pointless. Way better to have that +85% crit damage. Stacking critical damage bonus allows you to oneshot pretty much any non boss enemy using the charged strong attack.

my google fu is weak, anons, the ONE fix i did find to set a hard cap on levelling hasn't stopped my character from levelling past the cap i made.

(since legendary grandmaster gear is all for lvl <80 i oput that as the hard cap in the levelling.ws)

because if you keep playing a character much more past 72-6, 80 at most, not only does the randumb CRAP dropped by lvl 100+ mooks have better stats etc than ALL of the legendary witcher gear you can hunt down etc(anyone who's actually done this knows what i mean) and all that effort to find diagrams and get the parts and have this shit made is for naught because that bandit ( topless fuckwit with a pointy stick somehow able to resist you and do actual damage to you) just dropped a + 1111111 million leather boot making your legendary grandmaster ____ boots look like they were made out of paper mache' and hopeful dreams


the only way to make your crafted gear you WORKED for keep meaning something is to set a hard level cap around lvl 70-80 so you cannot outlevel it. ( and enemies stay around that level too so you're not underlevelled)
