All you had to do was play the fucking game a week before DE hit to see the T1 deck Shadow had. Aggro Shadow was not only tier 1, it was the only viable aggro deck in standard. Storm Dragon was also top tier, but both Shadow and Dragon babs love crying and meming whenever that's brought up. Meanwhile, they refuse to let go of DE, the only time Haven was ever good (third best mind you) when it fucking had sub 5% play rate in standard and the worst winrate of any class to date.

Every single class other than Blood and Haven have been tier 1 oppressive cancer in this game. In RoB Albert and Yurius belonged in the same order and they were really good friends, but Yurius had to find a fucking egg during one of the expeditions of the order that fucked with his mind, and made him go batshit crazy, so Albert had to hunt him down.
In GBF it's basically the same thing, but when you meet Albert he is already looking for Yurius, later on it's explained that Albert is the leader of an order belonging to the country of Levin. Yurius got fucked over again because the king was an ass to him and even handed the Skyblade (which is basically a national treasure) to Albert. Yurius gets taken over by a primal beast, murders the king and disappears, that's why Albert is looking for him.
At the end Albert with the help of the crew defeats the primal beast and Yurius comes back and with Albert they start rebuilding Levin. Yurius keeps the tentacles though.

Powercreep isn't what took Daria out of commission, it's just the fact that one of its worst matchups in RoB is now the most popular deck in the game. Ramp Dragon was the one of the most played decks in RoB despite a 45% win rate specifically because it is designed to beat Daria even then. Daria can still be deadly against a lot of other decks.

Also you're seriously questioning possible viability of Ginger without necessarily buffing her after what happened with Soul Dealer, especially when the devs specifically said they have plans for her in future expansions? At first I thought Elf Queen was going to be the next coming of Reno, but it turns out 6 pp do nothing but heal doesn't really help Forest that much.

Everything is either huge bursts of damage or lots of little pings. You can heal up to full against Shadow but unless their board is empty you're right back to below 10 next turn.

The problem is that shadow also has the exact same insane burst damage as Albert when they use shadows to get things like Eachtar, phantom howl, deathly tyrant, Cerberus, etc. Midrange usually means that the deck suffers slightly in quality because it can instead function decently well in a variety of situations. Shadow can win reliably at any time. If you don't kill their cheap followers you die. If you board wipe you just give them shadows to burst you.

Back in DE you would lose if you didn't have an answer to Otohime because of Sage Commander which was potentially 11 damage on turn 7 (which was WAAY more common than Howl + Cerb), and by that time Sword had already taken quite a chunk of your health with storm followers, an aggro "thing".
