In DL, there is Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Mai, Rex, Weevil, Keith, Mako, Pegasus, Ishizu and Odion.

There's 51 cards in this set.
Joey will be taking up 7 at most, Mai is taking up 6 for Amazons, Mako is taking up 4 or more for WATER.

That leaves about 32 cards to be divided among 8 characters, so each character should get 4 cards for an even share.

Just my two cents, let's see that GK support from Odion and Ishizu.

If I played non-masturbatory synchro decks before links am I fucked after?

I know the shark deck I waned to play for so long is pretty much dead even though we just got the cards for example. Not sure if it can be fixed though.

There are some things I can use that can keep up that I like playing, but even if links are interesting a lot of them have 2 card masturbatory combos. On top of this most of the things I want to play were slower than what the meta used to be prior to the change.

I have a number of decks that largely are not affected but even so I'm kinda stuck.

Whoever came up with this "saying" is full of crap. The set numbers of the Duelist Pack make it clear that those are the only new Red-Eyes cards, unless for some reason we get 3 new traps. The 3 slots between the new Red-Eyes and between the new Amazons are either Joey-related cards that aren't Red-Eyes (maybe Jinzo support) or belong to some other character. Bandit Keith, Weevil and Rex Raptor are pretty good candidates for new cards.

Looking at the set numbers, there is room for at least 2 new Time Lords, or something like Ein Soph Aur. It's also possible we could get Time Angel or Time Maiden in the slot just before Razion (that slot can't be another Timelord since the only Timelord used before Raion was Metaion, and we have him already).
