>What is Attorney Online?
In short: It's multiplayer Ace Attorney.
AO is a virtual chatroom/courtroom mix which we use to perform improvised AA-like trials, Civil Cases, Class Trials, Jury Cases and more! Choose from a wide selection of AA characters (and guest characters), pick a position (Defence, Prosecution, Judge, Witness, etc.) and dive into a whirlwind of logic, banter, theories and memes.

Fuck off, Names.
Love you Names!
Do people not like Athena and Blackquill? I just played DD for the first time and they were fine.
I hate how Trucy was reduced to nothing thoughz
>>174157035
Blackquill is fine, and pretty funny at points.
Athena is the definition of a mary sue and easy to hate.
>>174157346
Her backstory was pretty dumb and the whole youngest lawyer ever shit is as stupid as anyone else in the series who passes the bar at such a young age.
But other than that I think she's fine. Her hyper behavior makes a good compliment to Apollo and Nick.
Honestly she just feels like a more energetic Maya who's way harder on herself
>>174157589
Except Maya was likable. The issue with Athena is she does literally fucking nothing right and yet everyone still immediately loves her. She's annoying but no one acknowledges it.
I think she's easy to hate like the other poster said because of that fact. The player feels like the only one who realizes she's an annoying bitch.
>>174157723
>Except Maya was likable
kek
Also literally nobody respects her until she wins the case, treating her as the rockie she is and not taking her seriously, you have some weird definition of love, anon.
>>174157723
Well yeah, its a shame no one really gives her shit like they do Nick or Apollo. So I can definitely see that point against her.
Does the "full game" link in the OP doc include the win xp client?
>>174157940
She was tho

>>174158175
>>174158440
ur waifu a shit
>>174157940
>everyone treats her like a rookie until she wins ONE CASE against a no-name prosecutor
>meanwhile Nick takes down living legend after living legend and still gets shit and is treated as a fluke
>Athena gets "OOOOO ATHENA-CHAN YOU SO GOOD"
She's treated way too well for her actual abilities. She fucking sucks as an attorney and still gets treated as the second coming of Christ because Capcom can't write to save their lives.
>>174161451
Still better than Apollo "we make his backstory in the run" Justice.
But honestly all three suck. Just give a female ice queen lawyer and her happy shota assistant, Capcom.
For the time being, the Attorney Online Vidya server has been taken down due to concerns regarding the host computer/network stability, and as the Master Server is hosted on the same one, we are opting to use a cloned server hosted by someone else.
Connecting to it is as easy as adding the following to your serverlist.txt:
71.54.53.182:27017:Attorney Online Vidya(bombshelter)
>>174161451
To be fair, her childhood friend was the client and the other 2 were Junie's friends, she technically lost her second case against Payne until Feen came to save her and Blackquill not even wanted her as a lawyer for her third case but the plot said feen and polly were busy.
But yes, it could be better if Feen had more recognition than the other two or at least they acknowledge something more than his skills to bluff and cross-examine animals.
>tfw nobody will probably care about feen and polly taking down Khu'rain's queen next game
>>174157346
>Athena
>Mary sue
>Literally acts like Maya, everyone's waifu
Just admit it's waifu wars.
>>174157723
Except she leads 5-3 and helps in 5-5
>>174161451
>Holding the fact that a rookie winning her first case that happens to involve her best friend against her.
Autism.
>>174163663
>>174163534
Says the guy defending Athena's honor and shitting on other girls
>>174163801
But anon, all the girls in these series are shit.
Why do you think there is so much gay porn?
>>174163801
>Shitting on other girls
where
>>174163663
In both 5-3 and 5-5 she gets loads of help if I recall correctly. And I'm not holding the fact that she WON against her you dummy, I'm holding the fact that everyone dickrides her for managing to win a case against a no-name Prosecutor.
>>174163534
I don't have a waifu nigga, my point is that Athena is Maya except cranked up to eleven in the annoyingly hyper department. And everyone loves her for it.
>>174163534
>>Literally acts like Maya,
Being a copy of another character is not a good thing.
>>174164351
>"WOAAAAAAAH WHY IS HER COWORKER THAT SHE'S FRIENDLY WITH AND HER BEST FRIEND WHOM SHE SAVED FROM A MURDER CHARGE HAPPY WITH HER MARY SUE MUCH?"
>Simon
>No-name
And nigga there is literally nothing wrong with being excited. People that don't understand her personality can boil her down to "lol she's excited so she's a Maya clone" and it's completely disingenuous
>>174165186
Calm down Simon
>General has developed into waifu wars already
Just let it die again.
>>174165591
No. Server and master server re going to temporary die so people need the IP.
>>174165591
This
>>174165591
For once squidposter is right.
>>174165591
It's better than yet another thread being kept alive by namefag shitposting
>>174165186
Simon IS a no-name prosecutor and sure he should be happy with her but afterwards it's a nonstop deliver of "SHE'S A GREAT LAWYER FANTASTIC POTENTIAL SHE WILL BE THE BEST ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN" and then she fucks up and needs someone to bail her ass out but IT'S ALRIGHT SHE'LL BE A GREAT LAWYER WOOP
And she never does anything of note.
>>174167345
Because the plot never focuses on her enough. The team seems almost afraid to give her a starring role in a game like Apollo and Nick.
>>174166680
You're implying it's not gonna be that anyway either after or during the other shitposting. Thread enables that by being alive.
Server is back up.
Okay to be fair. People give Phoenix mad props now...as long as he's not the guy you're controlling. People call him the legendary defense attorney for gods sake
No one with the xp link?

>>174168925
Yeah that's my point. Capcom can't write for shit so Athena ends up being an annoying Mary Sue rather than having any actual character or development.
>>174179637
>>174179431
>>174179821
>No Detective Hats
o-oh okay...
>>174185347

>>174183879
But she's not a mary sue, retard. Other characters praising her doesn't make her a mary sue.
Anon who made the rule polls, where the fuck are you?
I don't believe it's been mentioned here yet, but the person who made the rules poll needs to share the results with a moderator, since no one can see said results except for the creator.

Alright, late and retarded rules-anon reporting in.
Results are as follows:
>Namedropping during a case which is in progress is strictly prohibited.
Defeated.
>Namedropping a player during casing or case building who has requested to not be namedropped beforehand is prohibited.
Defeated.
>Targeting a specific player for harassment (including but not limited to: namedropping, case crashing, and witch-hunting) over any period of time is strictly prohibited.
Passed.
Keep in mind that while 57% of the third proposals votes were strictly in favor, two of the "Other" votes were also in favor, pushing it over the top at 64% in favor.
Congrats, /aog/!

when you make it
>Make normal, fairly fun case
>Judge complains about being tired halfway through, but insists that he'll hang around
>Prosecution whispering behind the scenes for some sort of plot twist
>It springs in the latter bit of the case
>Lead DA is well into it
>Judge is getting more and more tired
>Lead DA is dismissive of judge and co DA, who don't seem to be following
>Co DA thinks this shit is stupid and leaves for a more "serious" case
>There's the notion that the victim was not murdered due to immortal shenanigans
>Judge latches onto it, immediately declares a Not Guilty because "No Death = No Murder = No Case", and leaves to sleep
>Time machine attempt.
>Lead Pro, in despair, bails on the case
>Lead DA, detective/wit and co pro finish the case, but at this point it's on life support and it's not nearly as entertaining as it could've been.
A Highlander case. How could a Highlander case crash?
>>174214392

>Highlander case
>>174214392
Because you're retarded and your evidence list was hot garbage with practically no incriminating or detailed evidence, and also you MADE PEOPLE FUCK WENDY OLDBAG AS A 5* HOOKER.
>>174216721
Hey, I didn't build it, I turned up for a /need; and no-one complained about the evidence during the trial.

>>174222639
The prosecution will have no trouble nailing you down.
Thanks for the decisive evidence.
>>174189250
Actually that is one of the basic tenets of being a Mary Sue, being praised and adored by characters to an unreasonable extent.

CAPCOM is holding a celebratory stream on Niconico for fifteen years of Ace Attorney.
Expect new DGS2 information and most likely a trailer.
>>174223982
How is being praised by your best friend and co-worker unreasonable? It was her first case and she won it.
Unreasonable would be Payne telling her she was a good lawyer in the first case for no reason.
>>174223982
Phoenix was thanked by Larry and Mia called him a genius in the second case, guess that makes him a mary sue.
>>174222201
Oh no

You missed
>the prosecution invited the lead DA to the pad to railroad hard, who happily accepted because he was shit and he was going to get guilty'd anyway
It would have been better to contain your desire for lolsorandom meme endings and not force it. The weak evidence might have led to an unsatisfying ending normally, but this way it DEFINITELY led to an unsatisfying ending.
The judge was justified. There was no setup for this, and it wasn't even remotely plausible.

>>174262164
>New female protagonist
That's just Susato.
She is in the first case instead of Ryuunosuke so they have an excuse to take it easy in the tutorial.
>>174262321
She's as much of a protagonist as Ryu tbqh.
Played through the demo and noticed 23 emotes/pres minus transitions for "Ryutaro".
Auchi, Hosonaga, and dab man seem to all have old emotes, except with Auchi's new hair, and Hosonaga's new outfit.
Judge unsurprisingly has nothing new.
The defendant girl has about 10 or so.If it weren't for the demo's video quality,
lawyer Sus would probably be worth ripping.Oh well, game's out in August anyway.
>>174262779
Oh, also, for anyone who doesn't know jap and wants to play the demo. The contradiction is last statement, use the autopsy.

>Naoto is made and denied and everyone throws a shitfit over it
>DGS2 has a fucking Naoto situation.
Shu Takumi confirmed for playing AO.
>>174255013
I'm not Vortex, but it was 3-4 people by the end of it doing their own thing because everyone else - even the steno - bailed out because it was boring and badly done.
It's a simple case of people trying to force their dumb gimmicks down other people's throats and getting upset when people start dropping like flies.
>>174268475
Everyone bailed because the judge officially ended it because "muh serious case fuck the benches and witness if they want to continue having fun"
They were completely in the right by continueing. And he should learn that the judge has as much control as any other player.
>>174269721
Did you bail?
>>174270269
I just watched the case but the situation is not new.
Judges that end cases because they don't want to go along with everyone else bullshit have been given shit before just as it should be.
Fuck, even Verin's and a few River's judge cases were more understandable because the benches were actually shitting on the judge after some penalties and they as judges were given shit by mods, here adacho told him once to fuck off and he inmediately not guilty'd then was defended with "muh double duty" even if it was because he is an impatient fuck just like starting before the prosecution were ready and finishing early showed.
>>174271426
>>174269721
>I just watched the case...
So, you had no stake in the case, you're just one of the unwashed masses who sat in the area idling. Good to know.
>Everyone bailed because...
You don't know because you're not one of us bailers. It's good that you want to weigh in with your opinion, but unfortunately, it's worthless.
>because they don't want to go along with everyone else bullshit
Uh hello? Ding dong? Anyone home? That's the reason for half the court leaving.
>They were completely in the right by continueing.
They can do what they like. They wanted to carry on after the verdict, so they did. The attempt at high horsing afterwards is pretty immature and totally unnecessary.
>>174273604
Something I hate is how I waste more time fighting with my phone than arguing.
>>174272809
>you had to be part of it to understand!
No, fuck off.
Bailed or stayed, any can be used to defflect and/or avoid the argument as you did anyway.
Shame but I shouldn't have expected anything else as soon as you asked "are you complaining about the judge as someone who was against him and continued or being am hypocrite and complaining as someone who left?"
>>174273886
>>you had to be part of it to understand!
That's not it. You weren't part of half of the court that had their time wasted and bailed OR part of the dumb gimmick club, so you can't speak for either.
>oh they bailed because this dumb reason haha
>the dumb gimmick crew quite rightly
You have a massive stick up your ass that needs dislodging.
