Don't worry about it. The game has a lot of systems, but the point for new players is that you're meant to learn and explore these at your leisure. You can play through to the main story ending with little work put into the side stuff like groups, item worlds and so on. If you're winning levels then you're playing fine.

It'll only be necessary to learn how all the mechanics work if you want to powerlevel in the post-game.

It's been a while so I'm not certain if you'll have it unlocked yet or not, but there's a group that will give all units in it a set amount of EXP if the leader gains EXP.

Just finished Raven's DLC. Legit spoilers ahead.

Am I right in thinking that what happened to Raven/Sachya in this DLC is exactly what happened to Raven and Kat? That they were split into two separate people to unfuck a time paradox?

What I got from this is that if Raven saved the kids, then she would never grow up to become Raven, so then nobody would exist to save the kids, so she'd become Raven, etc, etc. So to solve this problem created by Raven flying down and saving the bus, the world kind of "rights itself" by spontaneously splitting Raven off from Sachya as a separate individual so that they can both exist simultaneously: Sachya never grows up into Raven because the bus doesn't fall, but Raven must exist anyway in order to save the bus from falling, so the universe makes her exist.

I suspect that back when Raven and Kat were one person (perhaps an infant) a similar paradox happened from someone fucking around with space & time and the universe had to split them into two individuals to fix it.

I swear they purposely wash the game out, so every now and then they can pump full HDR in and blow you away with how phenomenal a mainly PS3 game can be. Trico is a top tier doggo.

That's semi what I was getting at. But mainly the use of HDR is what surprises me. They seem to have it very limited and more toned/washed out a lot, before ramping it up at the right moment to make you gush and draw your attention. It's very HDR off then HDR on. I've seen no other game utilize HDR for this, it's something NieR Automata could have really took advantage of.

The game does this without HDR to, it can semi look jarring in room transitions. But I'd imagine HDR adds a lot more to the look and feel. I liked the direction they used for the colour pallet too, but HDR is something that would definitely enrich that a lot more.

They basically took everything that worked about the original's combat and added more options, so it's actually viable to do things besides gravity kick 100% of the time. And then there's the visual improvements you'd expect, and the color palette is quite a bit more vibrant than GR1.

It's considerably longer than GR1 as well, and with a much larger area to explore.

It's much easier to get this one than the p4g risette voice line. Just make sure you get every party member hit with as many status effects as possible, and it should come easily. Make sure to switch members around sometimes, and let them be the star (get 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, knockdowns, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 simultaneous kills, etc)


The reaper, Ng+ only secret boss, all have unique lines, and the last boss has a bunch of unique lines too

I fucked up in my second playthrough because one request is completely missable so I pretty much gave up for that run and just beat the game. Now in my third I'll do the last 3 trophies which are finishing the compendium, doing all requests and getting futabas voice lines. 2nd was ng+ exclusive shit (compendium, NG+ boss), I tried to get all the requests, but I somehow missed one.
3rd was cleanup.

I advise following the gamefaqs "spoiler free guide" to a fucking T, with a brand new file. It gets you the vast majority of trophies. Just make a save in the middle somewhere for fishing.

Seeing the other posts I don't think there's a collective 'we', but I've just finished ending B and I'm around the 24 hour mark.

I was rushing the second playtrough because I was so hyped to see the ending, but now realizing that like it was literally only half of the game I feel like I shouldn't have done that. Or maybe I will rush, again, just to see the closure of things, then start from all the beginning again in max comfy mode, doing all the quests and such.
