You only activate Vantage vs. melee units so you can still be poked out by ranged units. Not to mention, Life and Death will make it harder to bait attacks without getting killed outright. Finally when Lyn attacks you want her to kill her targets outright. If you are ever in a position where you initiate, don't get the kill, and are relying on vantage to save your ass (again, with no ranged units around to fuck you over) you're doing it wrong.

Also Fury makes her bulkier while simultaneously helping her get into the 50% HP range. The benefits are more noticeable on a +Atk Lyn though.
