Siegmeyer is a good one.

In DS3 I'd say Eygon of Carim's the sickest cunt around. His voice and outfit just do it for me; his story's kinda cool aswell, even if it's very barebones. Vilhelm's another character that's practically cut from the same cloth; cool voice, surly lines, cool but kinda wonky armour set and a maiden he protects with his life. The maidens are eachother's complete opposites, but Eygon and Vilhelm couldn't be more similar.

I really loved Alfred. When I played DaS for the first time Solaire and Sieg were already memed a lot, so let's say they didn't have the same impact on me, I knew what to expect.

nice, the only change I would make here is to remove the 6 points in endurance and put it into strength, as you know when you 2 hands weapon your strength is multiplied by 1.5 so it's very interesting for your build.
Especially if you use lothric knight greatsword heavy infused, and buffed with lightning blade.
Cathedral knight greatsword also works well and has a vertical attack, good for some bosses, but does ~100 less damage.

This is what I do. Just use a pyro glove and crystal chime. Crystal chime only scales up to 45/45 or something like that, so you don't need 60/60. You lose a bit of damage on sorcery and faith, but that's what you have pyromancy for. Use the others for utility or mixing shit up.

Pyromancy gets good returns to 30/30 and climbs more slowly to the soft cap at 40/40.

Dark magic only scales with both intelligence and faith with a soft cap of 45/45 with the Izalith Staff and Caitha's Chime/Sunless Talisman. It will only scale with intelligence or faith with any other catalyst, up to 60 like normal magic. Dark spells get a bonus with those three catalysts, so you will see higher numbers with them for only dark spells. The Murky Longstaff scales up to the 60 int soft cap and the weapon art pushes dark sorceries to higher damage than Izalith if you use it that way though.

How's this for a pretty melee-focused pyro build? Not sure which spells to pick though, or if I should drop some more points into attunement.

I'm pretty new to the series and just ran through the first a few times.

I used some pretty basic builds I kind of threw together, mainly a pure STR and a pure DEX build.

I'm starting my first playthrough of 2 and I'm wondering what I should try out that I'd enjoy a lot. I don't mind trying something weird if it's fun.

If you want to keep it mostly Solaire themed, he used lightning spears and healing miracles iirc. You could maybe drop to like 24 att and get more of something else as well.

I highly recommend trying out lightning arrow, lightning stake, and lightning storm though. Those and sunlight spear are probably the strongest in general right now.

Projected heal is top tier too. Great for co-op spot healing and self healing in PvP since you can re-direct your position mid cast to avoid backstabs and stuff.

Dex casting speed hard cap is 50 so no. Sage ring is only good if you have base dex as a caster. Sage ring +2 is great for min dex casters though since they usually have at least 10 to start.
