Theoretically you can beat the game at SL70. Official recommendations are that you be at SL80 for Ariandel, and SL100 for TRC, but those are for casuals. As long as you don't break 120 (and don't want to do Yuria's questline on that character), you're more or less fine.

Parries generally don't work if an enemy is two-handing a greatsword or larger. Some WAs you can parry, particularly Farron Greatsword and DSGA. But if they're holding the weapon in two hands and it's fucking huge, best not to try.

Absolutely correct. The whole point in invading is that you're trying to be the greatest asshole possibly allowed by law. You don't even have to get your Tongue or whatever covenant item you're aiming for, all you have to do is make the other guy mad.

Do things like:
-Off-hand crossbow to chip at people when they try to chug
-Throwing knives for general chip damage
-Obscuring ring plus greatbow and try to knock people off of ledges
-Abuse mobs, hide in them and waste the host's Seeds, or drag them to the host and cause chaos
-Silvercat plunging attacks
-Chuck a Lloyd's after a successful riposte/backstab, then run them down

In general I'm more sympathetic for dex weapons than str weapons in the current meta, but greathammers are still mediocre. If anything they're good for the meta since they can swing clean through other heavy weapon swings, they're the one exception that people should make when they complain about str or hyperarmor.

Common mistake is just equipping 1v1 pvp meta rings and ignoring slumbering, obscuring, cat and untrue rings.

Always bring a millwood greatbow. Force is cheap instant kill spell that only requires 12 FAI.

Chameleon/White branch is generally shit because it's too loud and takes up FP/consumables. Gestures are free, silent and you can sometimes lie underwater or inside rocks giving you perfect camouflage.

Always have an escape plan when engaging groups of players. Easy way to shake off players is to jump off ledges with silver cat ring.

For invasions I try to go with Old wolf great curved sword, or Exile or with Greatclub or Ledo's.

DS3 hurts my fashionsoul because a lot of the best looking or easiest to mix armor pieces do so little in the way of actually protecting you from damage. The dancer set is one of the best looking boss sets in the franchise, but it is worse than a lot of sets you get way earlier in the game. I wish you could upgrade armor like in DS1

it really isn't the traditional str weapons that are the issue, and more the "I'm a mere four frames slower than a straightsword, but I have hyperarmor and around 50% more reach plus additional hitstun" kind of "str" weapons. The things which get the best of both worlds are the real issue, splitleaf and MKC are the best weapons in the game by a fairly wide margin.

What's a good Faith build right now? I want something like a weapon buffer with Blessed Blade and maybe some lightning so I can kick the shit out of Darkmeme Blade shitters

Blessed weapon is dogshit; replenishment has the exact same requirements and can give you 300 hp. BW gives you 45 hp and a damage bonus, so unless you do 255 damage you aren't going to make that up that healing difference. For a 7.5% damage bonus to give a nominal value of 255 damage, you need to deal 3400 damage before those 45 seconds end, which is like three people. Even if we assume the first 30 seconds of each buff go unused, that's still a 135 deficit, which requires dealing 1800 HP, a whole embered healthbar. On top of that, replenishment can be stacked with resin, whereas blessed weapon can be stacked with grass at best. If you're using something like a 66 str exile GS, blessed weapon has a chance to tip the margin and turn a four hit kill into a three hit kill, which is a big difference, but that's gambling. Generally speaking replenishment is going to give you more for your buck. And I'm not even suggesting replenishment, I'm just saying that even replenishment is better than BW.

Ultimately if you want to be the biggest faggot possible, go for the crucifix with the dark weapon buff, lightning arrows, and projected heal.

I feel alot of the kind of special and secret aspect of things goes missing with PC games and the ability to just collectors edition and datamine everything.

Take BB for example. There is no such mechanic to drop anything, and PS4 can't be hacked. Anything you obtain, that's yours and yours only.

Pic related, for instance, is a fire kos parasite (used as bare fists) with nothing but flat fire gems. This is for a low level build and does great damage versus everything, and with oil urns you literally punch things and they explode.
These particular gems, to anyone who knows BB are probably some of the highest amount of retardation to obtain, if not the highest. They require off shape farming of chests, that require entire dungeon restarts to respawn.

No one else who has played or plays BB has my build. No one. To get my build requires an insane amount of autism. Autism the likes of which make Pure Bladestone look like nothing at all. I sat there for weeks doing it, and I know I did it first and maybe someone else has done it since, but I doubt it with how dead the game is now. My build feels special and funny and cool and I feel the autism actually payed off because it's actually really fun to karatechop fire on everything.

However If this was a PC game, this would be absolutely nothing at all and people would be running around with CE'd versions of the best of everything gems. There would be nothing special or noteworthy about it.

Question: Why has From done such a laughably horrible job of balancing magic in 2/3 of dark souls games? Using any sort of offensive miracle or sorcery build to play through the game in dark souls 2 or 3 is a total waste of time.
