Not him, and I think he's full of it, but there IS a weird disconnect with the anime scenes vs the game, like either the studios weren't in proper communication or they were done before stuff was fianalized.

Note how in anime scenes the otherworld doesn't look that different while in game there's odd colors, in addition to other changes like Shido's ruse cruise going through blue water and flooded but intact buildings in the movie, but in blood red water and ruined crumbling buildings in game.

Or how Sae's casino is manned by people in the anime, but shadows in game.

In the cutscene audio files themselves. Several of his scenes (most notably the rank 3 scene at Leblanc) had key lines added later on, so they're listed after the rest of the scene. For the rank 3 scene, for example, the lines about his mother and him living alone are listed at the end of the audio bank, instead of when they're actually used in the scene itself.

I can't exactly prove that by uploading the files since file order can be modified, but if anyone wants to check for themselves, you can extract the audio banks for those scenes yourself. The rank 3 scene's in ps3.cpk, in sound/event/e309_601.awb/.acb, for instance.

Not trying to detach that, you're right that it's a necessary step for that task. The actual act of shooting isn't the cause of him getting worked up, though, as that's the association (completing the last necessary preparation step for his plan). It's a minor difference, but it does change how the scene comes across.

Ultimately, I wouldn't be surprised if it's mostly on that cutscene being from earlier in development than the finalized script, though.

I can't speak for the localization as I haven't seen that scene in full yet, but in the Japanese version, he comes across as unsettlingly calm in the part prior to the anime cutscene - he doesn't even use the smirking portrait unless you're on track to the bad ending, whereas in the anime cutscene he goes for a full-on slasher smile that's more appropriate for his later breakdown.

I ran into this problem two days ago.

The angels only heal him (cast Recarmdra) under two conditions:
>the angel's health is low
>the boss is fully buffed (order is Evasion -> Def -> Attack)

So basically, you should either fuse Black Rider and spam his curse insta-kill ability, or use Dekaja to constantly remove buffs from the boss. You can get the boss's health as low as you want, as long he isn't fully buffed, they won't heal him.

That's a big gripe I have with this game.

Ryuji's whole shtick is Interesting, too bad it's dropped in favor of being the butt of jokes.
Ann remains the sex object being oggled by everyone, including Joker and Ryuji after having had a whole arc about it.
Yusuke as mentioned, is just autism funnies.
Makotos introduction/awakening is super forced because Kaneshiro was an awful arc, and her problems are miniscule compared to the others.
Haru is barely a character.
Everything involving goro was bungled and felt horribly rushed.

Obviously, I'm being a bit nitpicky, and I think the game as a whole is damn good, but how have people ignored so many flaws when this fanbase is always so eager to rip Everything a new asshole?

Outside of the voice, he was more directly involved than ever before, throwing direct "do this now" your way which real Igor never does(he only gives vague hints and suggestions) was notably less courteous, and the MY velvet room and other shit was a pretty big tipoff to people who are very intimate with the serious.

I won't say it was completely obvious, because it wasn't, but there's definitely a shitload of huge clues if you're familiar with Igor.

When the fight starts, kill both angels. He should resummon only one.

If you have a persona with the curse insta-kill ability, you can just spam it and kill the angels every time he summons them.

If you don't, you NEED to use either an item or spell to debuff the boss before he reaches full Evade/Def/Atk buff. The angel(s) will only heal him if he's fully buffed. So you can beat the shit out of the boss, just don't let him get fully buffed with any angels alive.
