I'm certain I've played at least a dozen games that have this feature, I can't imagine it would be difficult to implement.

Is there another "active" online video game that doesn't have a single full-time employee on the staff?

I mean, doesn't that deserve some credit?

Most of the time, day after day, the game is just auto-monitoring itself and its servers, restarting blades as needed.

I don't think i've ever heard of this happening before, even PS1 had that single fucking guy assigned to it.

I don't think they even implemented BattlEye fully, I remember reading some guy complaining in a post about it, BattlEye just flags potential cheaters and sends the report to their abysmal customer support service.

I think there have been a bunch of banwaves in the last few months though, Cobalt becomes unplayable after a while and then all the low br uber-aim shitters just vanish (they come back few days later with new accounts of course).

There are still a lot of high br subtle cheaters that probably use private hacks though.

Don't spend anything at all for a week, the gear you start with is perfectly competitive unless you're a sniper. If you're a sniper, uninstall the game.

Feel free to play other forms of infiltrator but sniping is fucking bullshit and trust me, whatever empire you joined, they don't have any fucking lack of snipers.

It isn't their kit, it's their personal experience.
Your basic gear is equal to anyone else's shit except in a very few niche situations. Stop blaming it.

Turn your volume UP.
Turn your graphics DOWN (Maybe not borderline-bullshit ini editing but make sure your FPS is HIGH).
Pay fucking attention to what you're doing, where you're going and what everyone around you is doing.

The skill floor for getting gud is surprisingly high and simple aiming better, while enormously helpful, won't keep you alive.

Basically, stop worrying about dying, stop worrying about your gear, start learning how everyone moves, WHERE everyone moves and learn to act as though you already know where everyone is.

For the most part they're best as looming threats. If they're getting into range where they can fuck up serious shit like an enemy HIVE, people WILL come to try to kill it. If they can't, it was well defended enough that the people who defended it could probably have killed the enemy HIVE with their own guns.
I guess they get a bit more of an edge in smaller population situations where the side using it wouldn't have a better option. It's nothing too ridiculous overall though.

I would imagine that CQC is much more difficult for you than longer range engagements.

Maybe a more support oriented role would be better for you than trying to room clear.

-unlimited ammo (same as before)
-no bullet drop (same as before)
-new: charge up mechanic gone: No more time lost charging up only to have the target break line of sight while or after doing that, also no more auto-attack after being fully charged giving away your position
-new: switch firemode to select either semi-automatic or bolt action rifle shots

The bad:
-still uses heat mechanic which is even stronger than before
-can't use reload option to cool down to 0% heat anymore but have to wait for that
-overheats pretty fast with semi-auto sniper mode, allowing far less shots than such rifles that use bullets instead
-overheating causes severe downtimes compared to the specialized weapons and these downtimes alone will cause you to miss out opportunities instead

It's all about the headshots. Get close enough and you won't have to aim much, attack from a higher point if you can as hit indicators are only for directions but not height diferences.

TR: high RPM > bullets per mag > most inaccurate > no forward grip > horizontal recoil > a shotgun
NC:
Infiltrator: Afk in the spawn room and move once before being kicked for inactivity. Act as if you're shooting at targets but only shoot around them to show them where your allies are.
Light assault: Make sure you're close to allied vehicles trying to drive somewhere so that they'll overrun you. Use a shotgun on everyone trying to escape your sunderer !
Medic: Don't rezz or heal anyone. You're the first one to rush into a room full of enemies !
Engineer: Use spawnable objects to trap other players and make vehicles run over them when trying to move. Place your turret so that allies trying to shoot enemies have to run in your line of fire.
Heavy assault: Master the art of 360° noscoping sunderers with your rocket launcher. Train at your faction's sunderers. Also use the generic LMG in a spray & pray manner and equip a darklight on it that's always on. Use it to shine on allied infiltrators.
MAX: Stop any AV mine you find, don't equip any upgrades and remember that being in an armored suit allows you to chase any target anywhere because you're in an armored suit.

Are you kidding ? This thing is great:
-allows to react to ESFs showing up suddenly or only for a very short time
-counters ESFs and Libs hiding behind objects by shooting around the object, causing the lock-on rockets to do their job and achieve hits
-projectiles just need to get close enough to enemy aircraft, allowing you to attack enemy aircraft from ranges at which other lock-on launchers wouldn't even start targeting and all just by aiming well and thus to grant anti air support from a huge distances (unless the enemy moves in unpredictable patterns)
-there's no lock-on warning for pilots until the rockets are in lock-on mode so it's possible to surprise attack enemies with just a few extra rockets out of nowhere
-can shoot out of spawnroom shields to get rid of campers that would otherwise spam the area with projectiles
-faster moving and less ballistic rockets make it easier to hit targets at range

The only downside is the extended time of exposure due to firing multiple rockets.

Need kills ? Use it what it's good for: anti air. Or find abandoned vehicles (Flashes, commonly). Or last-hit C4'ed Sunderers with it. Or use it to destroy hacked turrets at your Amp Station. Those destructions count too. It's just a matter of time to aurax this thing, as any other weapon and it's by far not the one of the worst ones.

Heck, the Vanu can charge up their instagib launcher, why aren't TR allowed to do the same thing?

I had the strangest dream last night and it was very slightly planetside related.

I dreamt that I was some sort of hired-gun/homosexual escort who had been paid to do a job of tailing this young guy and if I can to gain his confidence. The setting was some fancy but comfortable pub. I found the guy and made his acquaintance and after a while I got a message telling me to go out the back and there was another job for me; I found a girl strapped to a dentist's chair and my job was to perform some sort of operation on her? It isn't long before I notice we're being chased and I tell the guy to grab the wheel at which point I lean out the window, draw my pistol and fire at the car chasing us.

Except that's when I notice my pistol is actually an NC Spear, the old MA pistol if you remember it. Shit i've not seen that thing in years.

I distinctly remember examining it closely in my dream and thinking "What the fuck how is this my gun?" and then I woke up.
