I use the burgle package too: Hallucination, Swashburgler, Huckster, Shaku, Ethereal Peddler. Combined with cards like SI:7 and Backstab, it's pretty easy to keep up until you draw something big...that is if you don't burgle something big. Sherazin is just one facet of the deck. Thing is, the top tier curvestone deck, like secret pally, load the board with so much value each turn that it's near impossible to keep up for a typical control deck. The best option is all out aggro but it's a coinflip at best. Similiar thing with stuff like freeze mage, if you don't draw perfectly you just run out of freezes.

How they decided that Ice Lance was a problem card but not this one boggles my mind. Arcanologist into your blocks, random cards to more blocks, cabalists tome and glyph to discover more blocks until they burn you to death. Even if the archetype isn't consistent or powerful, it's dumb as fuck.

I wouldn't bother, since you win by curving out and tempo. Arcane intellect is usually enough for the length of games secter tempo plays. What I would do is replace the firelands portals with water elementals. They are a godsend against warrior, and are usually always a good play.

The thing is that this deck is very similar to Aggro mage, you want to go face and hit hard.
Get a good board and just keep the advantage with secrets / clears and hit face.

I even thought of swapping a Firelands Portal for Pyroblast, but its only good when going face so am not using it right now.

Somehow I only ran into one or two pirate warriors between 10 and 5.

I love priest but it's current incarnations rely on drawing the right cards far more than every other meta deck right now.
Mage has tons or removal and stalling mechanics as well as maxvaluernglul cards, almost every other card in Rogue is some kind of cantrip, Warrior just needs to curve out taunts and brawls before getting sulfuras and putting you on a 3 turn clock, pally just plays Tarim, WHICH THEY ALWAYS FUCKING HAVE ON CURVE SOMEHOW, and all your high health minions get traded into by 1-2 drops that you can't clear fast enough because lol murlocs.

It's just really frustrating.

You can easily climb the ladder with a homebrew deck, but its also completely fine to netdeck.
Its not like HS grants much room for homebrewing anyway. Each archtype uses a specific pool of cards and the rest is just teching other cards in.
That is just how card games work. The problem is not netdecking, the problem is the small card pool HS currently has.
