Mitsuru's entire fight was to both ease her father's burden and guilt and bring the day when they could enjoy family life without the Kirijo's mistakes weighing them down. His death meant that everything she worked for was wasted and the future she wanted would never happen.

Haru's father was going to be ruined anyway and she actively helped bring this about. She didn't want him to die yes, and he deserved better, but it's not like it was a devastating tragedy that ruined her happy home life. He was going to jail so he'd be out of her life regardless.

Just finished Niijima's Palace . So much happened so fast I'm a little confused. First off let me say it felt amazing to wrap up the interrogation with the MC going back to the start of the game after all those flashback story telling. But there are some things I don't get so let me play this through my head again:

The team knew Akechi was suspicious because of the comment he made about Morgana. Knowing this they found out his ulterior motive was betrayal. So they staged stealing Sae's treasure. Akechi betrayed them by bringing human police into the Meta Verse.

So the part I'm confused about is... The police caught MC in the metaverse and then deliveried him to the real world's interrogation room. When Niijima arrived and takes MCs phone, Futaba activated the phone in the hallway where Akechi and Sae meet. So akechi is in her Metaverse and so is she. Akechi kills MC, Sae returns to the real world and takes MC into hiding.

But wouldn't he later realize he is in the Metaverse? All my questions basically are part of a bigger question: Is there a plot hole in this escape plan?

Goro should be considered responsible for what he did. That said, there's no denying that he was twisted and manipulated by Shido after he approached him at the age of 15. Fifteen, man. He was also threatened to his life several times whenever he even so much as hinted at uncertainty. Shido chose to take advantage of the fact that he had nothing, no one, and was starving for acknowledgement and praise. In that fight Shido himself said he's the reason Goro went so far to use his abilities the way he did.

It's simply the example of an abusive power dynamic, if not the most abusive and fucked up. It's similar to how Yusuke and Madarame were set up, only far more insidious. Yusuke knew what Madarame was doing but turned a blind eye, and also knew his career and livelihood were also at stake. It was thanks to the PT he was able to find the strength to break the cycle.

Yeah it was obviously very important for him to get Shido's acknowledgement before he took him down, which lead him to push himself as far as he did. Well there's that but I think it's just that Makoto is overall more, how to put this, versatile as a character. I like Ann a lot but she's basically just a girl Ryuuji who swears less and once the Kamoshida mess is resolved she's just a generally more straight forward character.

Makoto comes along and provides a much needed straight man to the party but is also the secretly cute one so you got a lot more room to create amusing scenarios with her. Her sister is a more long term plot character too so she has that connection as well.

Ann's just, well you get what you see with Ann. That's not bad she's a sweetie but she is what she is.

Sure, if you changed her character around a bit, but then the same can be said for anyone replacing anyone.

What I would do with the original 4 is remove the mascot character (seriously) and replace him with Makoto.

Considering her position as strategist, that she goes to the same school and that Sae, a person relevant to the overall plot has her own palace, it would have made more sense for her to have previous experience and the goal of changing Sae's heart.

That way Makoto wouldn't need her own dungeon while still being relevant, which would create a spot to introduce Hifumi or give Haru more time with the party.

How directly did Yaldabaoth influence the Palace targets? It's mentioned a few times throughout the game that the change in character was a bit sudden and unnatural, particularly in the case of Sae, but I don't remember a cause being cited. Did the Holy Grail itself induce the swelling of some if not all of these distorted desires for the sake of the 'game' between Akechi and Joker? I really feel like I missed something.

Even if they don't want to create extra scenes, they could at least have your lover message you from time to time.
