All you have to do is Chapter Select, Pascal's Despair, the factory scene. You'll have to beat Engels again, but afterwards you can fast travel to the village on either 9S or A2.

Is Drakengard 3 good? I've only played the first Nier and loved it. Have enough for D3 but don't know.

It's an acquired taste? In all honestly it was dated for it's time in terms of game play. Story isn't as good. My advice try 1 and 2 first. If you can put up with them you can handle #3

I've never played Nier 1, but I think Kaine having a penis is Taro partly mocking the trope of a fantasy heroine. She's undeniably pretty, but has "that" + a really foul mouth

The nice part though is that being futa isn't actually a joke and a huge part of Kaine's character, it's just not ever stated or even largely hinted in-game. Kind of like oniichan Nier being a twink and Emil being /cm/ + /y/

From what I can tell Yoko Taro is most likely a chronic major depressive with recurring suicidal thoughts. He survived his affliction the same way a lot of other people in his position do: Reading a fuckton of philosophy and conceptual metaphysics. His games practically seep with pained introspection cast against tropes adapted from both western and eastern philosophers as well as traces of various parables he no doubt read.

I feel like that's more linked to his philosophy on game design. When designing games, his core philosophy is always that you should never do the same thing twice, instead you should always aim to surprise the player.

Everything else only comes in second. Even gameplay. If you look at the history of the games he's made that should become clear. He never tries to make the same game twice. He doesn't try to fit in some kind of mold. For people who like the way certain games he made this isn't that nice as even sequels won't have a similar gameplay loop. However if you like being constantly surprised and having your expectations broken then his games are the way to go.

Well it'd probably take a while to begin with. 2B would notice shivers down her spine when 9S speaks to her, she'd feel flush whenever he was around, her pulse would increase, her heart would beat just that little bit faster.

After a while he'd increase the dosage, his voice would be like honey to her, and his touch would draw sharp, unwarranted gasps. She'd probably ask her Pod if she had contracted a virus, but 9S would have hacked that too, according to the pod she'd be 'working as intended'.

Unfortunately level scaling is pretty hard to add in as the game doesn't have it natively. The levels of all bots just seem to be determined by if certain flags are set.

Other languages don't matter. The Italian one makes their word for "kill" the only option, the French one makes their word for "fuck" the only option, the German one doesn't have any verbs that fit into those **** and I don't speak Spanish so I can't say anything about that one. Their grammar just doesn't make it possible to have both fit in every case, and clearly each translator just went with what they felt was appropriate.

In any case, the idea that they only wrote that line to then have to censor it because they wrote it in too early instead of actually playing with the kill/fuck ambiguity, which the game does at various other points as well, is silly.

I read The Memory Cage and I don't. There's no need to obsess over which it is, because the possibility of both being left open is the point. The game equates love with conflict in both Endings A/B , Jackass' research on combat being the same as love for androids, the resulting E-Drug, and in that bit leaving both "fuck" and "kill", or their Japanese equivalents, equally valid. Pinning it on either is just missing the forest for the trees.
