There are a lot of "hard turn count" caps on the game, Satan for one. Nep as well, though you can banish the Morde. Aegis is unaffetable but its also slower than Satan and Nep buy 1-2 turns and still gets slowed down by wards. Kaguya also stops it dead in it's tracks.

This is the list I used to climb to masters. Last time I posted it people said that barrage was dead in the Dragon matchup so it shouldn't be in, but if ourguy last night proved anything, you don't need to tech cards against dragon when they just fold to your standard combos.

The followers I run are fairly standard. Some lists run Yulius but I find that he doesn't do enough to stop Shadow and is completely dead against Dragon. Some lists also don't run Baphomet but I think they're retarded because Baphomet helps you get your turn 4 vengeance more consistently. Vampiric Kiss is also in a lot of lists but I've never needed the heal that badly so try it out yourself.

Wards are not a counter against Aegis but they can slow it down long enough to give you a chance to go for lethal. The whole point of the game after Aegis is played is to win before the other guy and if you put even one 2pp ward down that can mean the difference between life or death.

If you aren't racing to the finish after Aegis is played then you're doing it wrong. Just like wards are relatively shit against Satan because they can Dis over it, that doesn't mean that ward can't slow them down in case they draw a Raider instead.

The shitter sub-AA rank mentality is trying to counter aegis instead of looking at it for what it is, a timer that you've got to race against. If your deck can't win by turn 10+ then you deserve to lose to Aegis.

In my opinion catacomb would be completely fine and balanced, if the craft didn't have orthrus to follow up next turn and snowball to victory.
Orthrus is the strongest reason why shadow has such a high winrate by going first, nothing that is played with 3pp or less can survive orthrus' tempo swing. You gain massive board control and simply won't let go.

Grimmir is way above the fucking curve, you'd need some serious mental gymnastic to say otherwise.
The only other 3pp 2/3 ward in the game is soccer mom, a class legendary.

Are you the same guy whining every thread just because you lost to a boardclear against Haven? Yes, wards can work. Yes, they might not have a board clear.

If they still have every answer by the time they played Aegis you got outplayed and didn't put enough pressure on to force those cards to be used early. And sometimes you still lose but thats ok because Aegis needs a way to win too. The deck has a completely average win rate in Masters because people know how to play around it and know how to play against it. Again, if your deck doesn't have a wincon by turn 10 then you deserve to lose. And that includes board wipes. Albert, zell, Laura, Azrael otk, Shadow refilling the board, roach/wolfbolt, dshift, every craft has a way to win past the Aegis timing and well before.

In standard, the worst 2 classes were the only classes without viable aggro decks (Haven and Blood), because PtP, D.Shift, and storm Dragon is auto win vs control. In DE, control is as big of a meme as ever, because if they magically survive against roaches and D.Shift, they still have to play draw lottery against Seraph and Otohime (the eternal flood vs clear wars). In RoB, control reached a new levels of meme uselessness. Auto loss once again, against the eternal roach cancer and D.Shift. Albertcraft, a type of deck control supposedly counters, completely shat on control post gobu nerf, and D.Shift was reaching critical numbers by the end of RoB. Now here we are, once again, with another Haven boogeyman using "think of muh control" as excuse to blame the consistently worst or second worst class in the game for the fucking shit state of the meta. Meanwhile, no memetrol deck can ever compete with Dragon's turn 6 10 mana plays, and they just removed control entirely from the game with a 3 mana silver. Control is a meme, not because of a fucking worthless 9 mana follower do nothing. The game already has too much fucking removal, control is shit, because there's entire types of fucking cards that can't be CONTROLLED and have literally 0 fucking viable counters, Spells are as powerful as Cygames want them to be, you're at their mercy, no counterplay allowed. Storm is "just ward bro :^)" which has been proven to never work, ever. There has never been a single meta where wards beat storms in this game, because attacker choice meme, defensive plays are worthless. Your precious control decks are worthless, because HALF THE FUCKING GAME is outside your control (your opponent's turn). Not to mention the very fact that control is a zero sum game. It's from the Standard set and as a newfag I've been opening mostly Tempest packs so my Standard collection is slim. I got one copy from the Dragon pre-built.

There are other japanese netdecks that do run baphomet, like the 30+ masters win streak one that ran Imp Lancer. And Paraneko did use baphomet in some of his decks. He had a ton of different iterations, just one that didn't have it gets peddled around a lot.

Also, I can't stress this enough but Airjammer is NOT your win con. Airjammer is great, but having a slightly worse chance to pull wards or storm from an Airjammer (and 3 chances to do this) is not a big deal. It was a bit of a problem when I ran 3 Baphomet but 2 seems to be the magic number. It's much more important to have that consistent turn 4 vengeance and to set up your turn 7 Laura play.

It is preference but I prefer not pulling either dealer or belphagor by turn 4 and having to play a vengeanceless Airjammer. And again, Air Jammer is not your wincon and is shit without vengeance, just like the rest of your cards. If you can't get into a consistent turn 4 vengeance then your dark generals are dead, your airjammers are shittier, your drains cost 5pp, your devils can't attack and just sit their like cucks, your laura can't storm. Its just incredibly shitty. Airjammer isn't worth making your whole deck not work. Besides, ideally those Baphomets are played before turn 5 anyway or are in your hand so you can't pull them with Airjammer.
