What's stupid is they tried to "hide" it while still basically putting it in your face. It makes you wonder what the point is then? The way they handled it just limits them from developing the character in real depth, for the player to see while in-game, and ultimately makes them feel very straightforward and boring. It didn't do the cast any favors. With Nier, you knew everything about the cast sans Kaine and you learned about the world as they did. With Automata, characters are essentially withholding information, intentionally, for "twists" that are obvious anyway.

That may be, but I was expecting an emotionally driven plot where the main character is driven to madness by the tragedies he experiences. Instead I got a bunch of irrelevant missions in boring environments starring Venom "Deadpan" Snake.

I know it's a matter of managing my expectations but I'm still pissed.
Just about everything from this gen up until that point had disappointed me and TPP made me give up hope for the industry.

After beating the game, I looked up a few gameplay videos to see how other people play. I noticed that a lot of people were doing very little damage. As for me, I had two crit weapons (1 crit of course for 9S) with a bunch of crit chips, damage up, and lots of TAUNT. Combine this with offensive and deadly heal and each hit is more or less atomic. I melted each boss at the end of the game in less than 20 seconds. Sure it basically turns the game into Very Hard mode, but they don't even get the chance to attack. I kinda feel like I missed out on some of the challenge by doing this, but it was a damn fine build.

I'll have a go at the conversion since that's like a 3 line script; they shouldn't be as large in file size as 720p JPGs which, despite the loss of quality, is more than enough for archival purposes.

So with "the ghost of humanity at its core" it probably started to become more and more human as it was rebuilding. I'm not exactly sure what it's rebuilding from, though. The destruction of the server on Mt. Ka'ala?

Is there a good set of self imposed rules to make the game more entertaining to play? Bosses tend to melt within seconds if you bother playing the game as an RPG and higher difficulties are overly frustrating mainly due to load times.

I was thinking a normal run without chips/pods/upgrades would be a decent alternative, but was wondering if anyone else had the same problems I do and found a better idea.

I just want a difficulty between bosses dying before you can even see their move pool and 2 minutes of loading because youre fucking terrible at dodging.

Is the Japanese voice pack for Drakengard 3 worth it?

I'm dealing with a copy from outside the continent here, so I would have to go through some trouble to get it to work.

I found the Japanese audio to be much better in terms of line delivery and performance, but a big problem for me was that paying attention to subs while you're fighting is hard. I think "new paint job" might refer to the outermost layer of their artificial skin. Based on A2's design, I'd have to guess the main layer is the black material while the paler skin is a cover. Maybe it's to reflect UV rays instead of absorb them like the black under material would.

They are supposed to be as close as possible to humans and are given free will. They're technically humans on every level but biological. The point of making them is to fight machines as humans while not sacrificing any more lives or dehumanizing those few men left alive. I just finished my first playthrough and now I'm on my second one as 9S. I must say playing as 9S is actually really fun, and relying on 2B to do a lot of the fighting is quite nice. Not in a lazy way.

I heard playthrough 3 is quite different and some say it's emotional. Overall though I'm having a blast
