The game has content but it fails to hold your attention for very long. A lot of what made D2 great seems to be missing from D3, which might explain why so many players quit.

Certainly not 99.99% of other games in its style where it was just runs of the final boss on the same hardest difficulty over and over again. Then you have Path Of Exile which uses a similar system of post-endgame to Diablo 3, but doesn't have the variety in skills nor actual gameplay mechanics nor map styles. Also don't the "muh procedural generation meme" since that's kinda a staple of this kind of game, and even with it, the game has far more variety than its peers. These aren't MMOs where there's a constant stream of original content being released all the time.
