I was 35-40 hours into the game but today when I trie to start the game I get a "Selected data contains DLC you don't own" message and It wont let me fucking play a game I spent 90 bucks on.

For me it's the dungeon crawling, the use of guns, bringing back nuclear and eiha/kouha, negotiations and the status effects. Goro being almost a copy of Reiji adds to that too.

I'm about to max mine and it wasn't hard at all. Aside the bath, you watch the movies/dvds and read the books that raise charm. Sun gives you 3 charm points sometimes and Devil always give you that boost. I read a book about enjoying cinema and it raised the charm points I got for watching a movie. So I re-watched the june/july movie once to get 2 charm points during the day. The drink stand in Shibuya gives a drink to raise charm sometimes without losing your time on Sundays. I know later on you can play a video game that also raises charm and the maid cafe also gives you some boost.

I believe the politician's Sl gives you some charm every time you meet with him too.
If you are trying to get Makoto, I got 5 charm about halfway through the game I think. It was the first stat I maxed.

Make sure to keep charm books on you at all times, go read the cinema book and look for the Love Possibly movie in theaters since that boosts charm, though Ann will invite you to see it at some point

P1 is generally skippable. You need to be kind of a masochist to play it

P2 duology is often considered to have the best story of the persona games, though the gameplay is kinda dated.

P3 is probably the best of the modern persona games and worth playing, though mechanical improvements have been made since then (like being able to actually control your teammates).

I personally really dislike P4. I dislike the cast and I fuckin hate Teddie (he singlehandedly ruined it for me) and the drop in dramatic scope was kinda a turn off for me. But mechanically, it made multiple improvements over 3.

So I'd say if you like 5, 3 is a must play, 2 is great if you don't mind old school gameplay, 4 is really up to your personal tastes since gameplay wise its rather similar to 5, and probably skip 1

Translations are mostly there for ease of comparison - the main point of this is to highlight and explain the types of issues that crop up in the localization, since this set of scenes has a fair few of the less obvious problems (such as mistranslations, missing words, inconsistent translations, sentences that had parts added that contradict other details, some wordplay that went missing, and some really odd translation choices that sometimes mess with the overall scene). Hopefully it'll be an interesting read, even though it's pretty long.
