I don't understand how so many people manage to start looking for matches and then go afk when in lobbies.
This is on consoles so it's not like you can alt-tab and do something else, plus matchmaking only takes a couple of minutes at most 90% of the time.

Here's my point of view as someone that is a part of the recreational shooting community. Quick blogpost incoming.

I've spent the better part of the last decade going to the range and looking at gun forums online, and seeing damn near everyone building and buying and customizing tactical/practical rifles. Whether it's for 3 gun, PRS Long range stuff, or just dicking around out in a field with nobody around, most people want their guns to have some kind of color scheme, and for the longest time literally everyone was either all black, or black and olive green. Eventually, people caught on to the fact that the only ongoing conflict our military is a part of anymore is in the desert, and so then literally everything was just getting hosed with cans of Flat Dark Earth paint as if these people were expecting to be deployed. These colors are so played out that I can't stand them anymore. So eventually stuff like Kryptek shows up, and it's all flashy and edgy and actually looks kinda cool. People start using it, and Kryptek starts spitting out a few more color schemes. Between this and the resurgance of custom camoflauge on guns thanks to those who are decently skilled at Cerakote, there is actually some damn variety in the shooting world again.

So yeah it's all edgy and nontraditional and shit, but jesus christ it's better than just drenching everything in sand-yellow paint and calling it a day.
