Port Mackerel feels like an early dev map that was quickly art passed and thrown in the game. The layout is so basic you can almost see the dev textures it was made up of.

we got pretty active during the testfire. I expect the same when the game actually comes out. hopefully it lasts longer this time... unfortunately, that seems to rely on the devs' commitment to updates. I want to say they they'll keep updates going for the lifespan of the Switch because of the paid online, but you never know.

I actually kinda enjoy it for the change of pace myself, but it is a pretty simple map. If it was just a little more layered it'd be great, a bit more like a messy shipping port. Have the containers stacked three high in some places, keep the tarp on the top ones but give us a couple of tiers to climb around, add some smaller crates and machinery for cover on each layer.

Pro and Splash are easier to aim with than normal shooters, Sploosh and Luna don't have to aim. Tentatek is meta, it's good regardless.

The reason Jet Squelcher and Bento are borderline unusable. Never really nerfed on itself other than depletion, but hoo boy, wall was nerfed like crazy because of this thing.

Scrubboshit. Admittedly, it was once an out-meta weapon, back before people tried to play smarter with it. Once they reslised they do just as well by turning their brains off and running on instincts and quick respawn, though, it blasted a gashing hole in the meta walls.

52's partner in crime, and admittedly a much, much more broken gun. Back then it had insane survivability- Tentatek-fast splat, longest falloff range among 3-liners and complete disregard for defense up, wall, last resort Kraken, if all dlse fails it's still a normal shooter and can just splatterdash away, but most importantly- it was, and still is, a really respectable inker, and 3 shots to 4 lines even at its fire rate is very quick straight line speed as well. It didn't just enter the meta, it defined the meta as soon as it was released.

But I go Grim when Roller wont cut it and Metaliter when I feel like never dying. If you have a team that keeps map control and injects for you when they don't you can work wonders.
I actually seldom need to use Krakens to survive death and instead delegate them to advance upon otherwise untouchable Literfag perches. The real reason I main the admittedly scrubby Krak-On is not for it's kraken but it's beakons, which I'm always placing in the most unorthodox places possible.

No, ink res isn't very good on Luna, it has some of the best foot coverage in the game on itself. Same with Slosher, one slosh in any direction and you have your own ink under your feet regardless.
Most of the dolphins and sharks like Range and Carbon respectively can get away without ink res easily. The only exception is H3 with broken foot coverage on every second burst.
Bigger rollers need it like air, because the only way to ink your feet right now is flick straight down for a slow and tiny puddle.
Anything with burst bombs has an escape mechanism. Sloshing Machine's puddle is the same size as burst bomb blast, so it also counts.
Shooters- depends. They all have around the same foot coverage rate, from Aero to 96, but this makes faster weapons outrun their own coverage and walk straight into enemy ink, slowing down and making you succeptible to 99.9 stackers. The most notable ones are Mini, L3 and Nzap, even before run speed they can easily wander off your turf. Curiously, Rapid also suffers from being too fast, eventhough it's pretty slow.

I agree that held charge shouldn't have full range, desu. Otherwise it's completely fair, you don't win anything in defensive close combat because if you can get a full charge, you can shoot them, but you get a potential offensive position if you prepare your shot in advance, becoming kinda like Range Blaster. In fact, Squiffer may become sort of its replacement for those who don't need the blast and don't have crazy shot leading skills for an H3.

Splat Zones is basically a camping mode, and it's only good when there's more than one Zone to cover (Blackbelly Skatepark, Port Mackerel, Moray Towers).

Tower Control would be good if it wasn't because of the blasters and Krakens.

Rainmaker is the best relatively, but not that good because of the SD trick, and also it can become a really quick match in places like Blackbelly Skatepark.
