I don't think it wasn't really saving the crane, that was just the first time she noticed him. Her intuition is good enough that she can pretty much read peoples minds so she probably saw him helping out an animal and her intuition told her he was pure, so she developed a crush on him. What bothered me the most is that they made it like Hinata and Kamukura by some extent did everything for his gamer waifu. Of course, Kamukura did what he did to see what is more unpredictable, but it feels so shallow. But I dislike mostly every single thing about DR3, it ruined so much about Danganronpa in general for me and and I also strongly despise Chiaki, she's my least favorite character in the whole franchise, so a lot of different opinions get mashed together whenever it involves something about that.

Alright, here's my retarded theory.

Nips have noted there's some very clear differences between the Kaede, Saihara and Kaito in their audition videos and what we see of them in the actual prologue. Additionally, for such superfans of danganronpa, especially Saihara, it's odd that a. it would take them so long to recognize bears that clearly resemble Monokuma, b. they don't recognize Amami, a supposed star of last season and c. that they don't recognize any of the talk about "killing games" or "SHSLs".

Those aren't Saihara, Kaito or Kaede in the audition videos. Tsumugi was cosplaying them and was able to do so because the characters she was portraying in those "audition" videos were entirely fictional. She picked those three because they blatantly targeted Saihara, who was shaping up to be the leader of the group.

It's already implied she was lying about any of them joining the killing game entirely willingly when she shows a blatantly fake flashback to the "prologue" of them being excited to be on the show, when in actuality all of them were still confused and bewildered even after getting their SHSL costumes. Given that she has to lie about that to make them despair, it's most likely that the truth of the prologue is that it was before any mindhaccs and they were all truly unwillingly kidnapped.

When she realized that the original plan of having this game go like the other DR games (with having the HPA connected storyline as the endgame) went out the window by chapter 5, she had to resort to HICKSHON to make them despair. She recorded those videos during the game (the "room" they're in is a wooden floor, not hard to find) and was able to cosplay "normie" Kaede, Saihara and Kaito because at that point those people did not exist anymore and were entirely fictional because even if the cast were normies at one point, their SHSL selves are the "real" versions of their characters now.

The angle of the cameras is extremely weird as well- it makes it look they're being filmed from above, as if it's taking great care to not show what's behind them. Compare Amami's video, which by the background is clearly revealed to be recorded in his talent room. It has him face on to the camera.

It makes it seem as if Tsumugi/whoever recorded the videos knew that showing what was behind them would be detrimental in some way. I think it's because you could see it was part of the school somehow.

My point is why does Kaede seem familiar with the Monokuma name? Did she watch the show? If so then why doesn't she ever bring it up in her thoughts when she heard Monokuma's name? Or not recognizing Amami? Did she not watch V2? Or did they already have their memories messed with before they woke up in the prologue? So many questions.

Yeah, the first prologue before the cast gets their outfits is one of our biggest reliable clues because the characters who talk mostly insist they're completely ordinary except for Amami, and we know memory of said kidnapping was removed because of what was discussed between Saihara and Kaede later. In other words, had the kidnapping been part of the show why would this be erased seeing it'd make the characters want to get out?

At minimum we can be certain no one's here of their own accord and certainly not through auditions.

The threads were the only good thing about DR3. The Juzoboys were truly the best.
