Don't. Apparently waygate giant is better. You only need 3 combo pieces (Alex, 2 giants) and you can run 4 giants (2 x arcane, 2 x molten). It has a higher winrate vs Pirate and Questing.

Exodia Mage has a better winrate vs Taunt Warrior and in the mirror. It is weaker in the others.

Lyra floods the fuck out of your hand and is purely RNG. She's no Tony, but if you play her fairly early in the game then the ~3 cards she nets you can be used to answer SOME things SOMEtimes.
Amara herself isn't very powerful and gets absolutely shit on my exodia mage, but she does enable you to play N'zoth without worrying about them just running you over next turn.

Giant works with less combo pieces and requires for there to be no taunt, but can work around one or two with a few extra minions (why not more giants, you should be running at least 2 arcanes and a molten)

Exodia requires more combo pieces but you can make it work with less, just not for infinite damage. Still, sometimes 2 or 3 fireballs are enough, especially if there are no taunts, since the sorcerer's apprentices can attack too.

They're different approaches to the same idea. I can see the giant version ending up more neatly polished, though. But I like how the sorc apprentice version gives you a bit more flexibility in setting up for a two(three) turn kill if you somehow don't draw all the shit you need for the OTK.

Quest Paladin sucks, unfortunately. Once Paladin players get off that and start working on more straightforward archetypes, the class will see improvement: the good tools are there, but people apparently would rather try and turn the raw value class into a janky beatdown-combo abomination.

I have been messing around with both versions on the ladder and I can say that Exodia mage has a fatal weakness in dirty rat. I have lost a few games which I should have won because the warrior pulled one of my pieces out with dirty rat. Plus I feel that in the current meta, you don't really need infinite damage since there is only 1 class that will run taunt that I am constantly seeing which is Taunt Warrior.

Control Paladin would use it if they still had strong win conditions. N'zoth's payload is too small now.
Midrange Paladin loves it, but nobody's developed an optimal list with all the new tools yet. It's definitely there, though: too many good new cards happened at every part of the curve.
Quest Paladin wants it, since games usually go to mid-lategame with them and they tend to play lots of small stuff they can buff. It won't accelerate the quest, but it's still exceptionally strong.
I don't think Aggro Paladin wants it, it's too slow and they don't make sticky enough boards unless they're using Murlocs, who might just get debuffed by Tarim.

No I don't run the quest because I think it's terrible in zoo. I'm at work now but can post list when I get home. Any of the popular zoo lists on sites now should work fine. I cut the eggs since had trouble activating them vs aggro and put in Corsair patches package for pirate Warriors which are very common in 5 to 1 area.

I've been enjoying quest pally in wild with ooze, brann and divine favors.
It's just like hand buff pally in that you need a good draw for it to take off. With a decent draw I can get galvadon out around turn 7, I usually tempo him out then finish them off with a ooze if they somehow answered him, dinosize is optimal but a handful of other buffs work too

My old arena deck just got fucked by all these new ungoro synergies. Straigh up curvestoned out of all matches.

I saved my dailyQ and winning coins for the last month to get some Ungoro packs. I must say, i'm quite disappointed. I managed to save 35 packs worth, but i did not get quest cards or any other legendary cards for that matter. A lot of duplicates and overall bad cards. I don't think HS can call it self F2P, or friendly for casual players and top it off, this game costs ridiculous amounts of money. I think i'll keep playing HS occasionally, but i don't think this is going to work out anymore. Shame, such a good game.

just read this suggestion that would have been great for quests.

so make it a 1 mana neutral legendary. you can put it in any deck and when you play it on turn 1 and it will transform into your class specific quest card. this way we don't have a ton of quests that just add padding to the legendary amount.

then they can even just give it away as a free legendary like they did with cthun. if they want as well, they can add new quests later and can add a discover effect to pick your quest.

Actually, yes. If you don't have the heroes memorized, the best way to recognize what class you're playing against (or what's on a screenshot) is to look at the hero power. Therefore, changing the appearance of it would not be good for gameplay.

I really enjoy it, apart from the quest it's the most fun card. ranges from a shaky 1 for 1 to an amazing hand refill. Usually guaranteed something with all those cheap beasts. Tends to be more important and tip the scales in slower games

im 5-1 so far, 5 questrogues, lost to one because he got turn 3 8/8 edwin and i misplayed at the end, 1 control warrior, which I one easily.
If you dont have finja you can replace it i guess, I only drew finja in one of my games, it helped alot, but I won others without finja easily.

You can finish the quest pretty easily by having a terrible early game where you toss tempo out the window for shitty buffs. Then you can play your Galvadon and watch as you're offered poison, stealth, and taunt 4 times each and end up with a shitty minion that's going to trade 3 for 1 if you're lucky while the rest of your deck is worthless and you're so far behind on tempo your opponent is already playing his next game.

Because Blizz is forcing archetypes down in our throats. With so few decent cards to use after the rotation, you have no choice BUT create the same deck as everyone else to play the X style. I think that's why Quest Rogue is the hottest deck right now, it's one of the few exceptions where you can build it in many different ways, hence it's fun. I'd love for it to be viable, but it's not.

It would be viable if it had some reasonable requirements, like summoning recruits or minions with divine shields. Buffs are inherently weak and even the best buffs in top tier decks are being played for finishers like PO or Cold blood, not as a way to win the board. The new 1/2 murloc does little to help because it's just another weak card and even if you get the buffs back, you're just already so far behind with a hand full of clunky cards.

If Blizzard wanted to make buff paladin viable, he would have to get hunter or zoo-level token generators, plus a bunch of buff generators, something like Babbling Book for paladin. But this assumes Blizzard actually wants paladin to be playable.

People hate on 'solitaire' decks but decks like Quest Rogue and Patron weren't at all solitaire decks. You consistently needed to evaluate what cards you could throw away to stay alive or what cards to keep to be able to pop off.

As someone who used to play Modern UR Storm, it's not at all that different and it's why Patron was one of my favorite decks in the game.

I opened 40 packs and I'm nowhere close to making any deck I actually like, much less any of the actually expensive ones. I only got one legendary which is the awful, awful Hunter quest.

For 40 bucks you could buy a game like Bloodborne.

I have only blown $120 on this game so far but this is about it. I never actually stopped to think just how much this is like just throwing money away, "oh $40 is nothing" sure it is, but just because I can afford it I'm not just going to fucking burn it away in something that is entirely worthless EVEN in the context of a videogame.

What's considered "budget decks" in MtG Standard are usually costed at about $90. Extreme budget brews are $20, but those are more memes than anything else.

With fire elementals you get to add 2 extra cards that help you, and since they give you 2 fire elementals on deathrattle you need to draw less cards
Sure, it might sacrifice the free patches summonand the potential of good shit out of swashburglar, but the increased reliabilty wins more games on the long run
