Howl is a great cockblock for catacomb shenanigans in the aggro v. midrange matchup
in situations where you want to foul tempest, it's a 4 mana foul tempest that eats shadows, which is pretty bad but gets the job done; in situations where you want to push face, it obviously does a splendid job
YMMV, if your playstyle doesn't find chances to use it you should probably cut it, but I don't expect it to disappear quite yet

I already have been dicking around with decks and doing that, and have already tuned Sword D-Shift.
But the meta is cancer and very rock paper scissors and I'd rather try something new/different than what I have been. Especially since I play against literally nothing but Ramp Dragon or Aegis Haven.

And yet it has more of a "commander" focus than control sword, which is hot garbage right now.
And let's be real, the absolute worst Sword deck right now is that retarded Support Cannon commander variant.

Either way the reason it's decent right now is because it plays as a hybrid midrange/aggro deck. It can work to out-board/stem aggro while still maintaining the ability to put down the gas against an impending clock.

Reason I'm into it is because I was already playing my own variant of midrange that plays similarly(and had been since before ToG), just with a bigger emphasis on endless board flood.

I also have almost everything for control sword, I'd just need +2 Aurelia and maybe 1-2 Roland, even though I think she's too slow against Dragon and only decent-tier against Aegis

As Storm Haven is it better to drop Beastcall Aria or a 2/2 on turn 2? Or does it vary based on who you're facing? Mainyu vs Dragon is a nice way to avoid Blazing Breath and get some value out of it.

Adding howl gives you ultimate greed deck that can beat anything but can brick more easily.

No howl is more consistent but can get fucked in some matchups where howl might have won the game.

I've come around to the same conclusion as some anon that was yelling at me early in the expansion, library and lou are shit
spending 2 mana to not spellboost comes back to bite you in the ass so often when you really could have used the spellboost on wind blast, on fate's hand, on blade mage
maybe your experiences are different but I've had to switch to dariashift if I want to keep up in this meta, the leaner variants that rely on library and/or lou just don't cut it
