31 hours into original NieR... 30 hours to get ending A and 1 hour into B and I've almost completely lost interest. the worst part is probably the retreading, though there are other glaring ones too.

is there value in continuing playing at this point as opposed to watching a video? does it change up later on or is this it?

I have to wonder how much of N:A was Taro and how much was Platinum. certainly there's enough similarities to see how they're the same, but the feel is completely different.

some of it is definitely the tech/code quality ruining immersion. the music is constantly slowed in town and northern plains is so slowed down it's not just ugly noises.

That's unfortunate but you could always put it on easy with the auto chips exclusive to that. Game literally plays itself for you in that mode, doing attacks and shooting without you having to do much.

They're shooting everything about their conflict into space, hoping it'll land on another planet and basically start anew with all they've learnt.

I don't think there are any specific details about how that's going to work/pan out in the game, but essentially it's the next big iteration of the evolutionary "perpetual spiral of life and death" everyone is trapped in, just like YoRHa is mainly there to die and have its data be used to create even better androids, now the machine network is basically gathering up all it can for the next step in their evolution.

Who's behind Project YoRHa? Humans? Other androids? Who enabled the machines to hack to the Bunker's system? And at that time, who was talking to them (you know, that "we're your beloved machine liveforms" stuff), was it N2? Did YoRHa models exist only to gather data to make better ones in the future, there was no other point?
Does anybody from humans/androids side care about winning this war, actually?

What was 4S doing at the route C? Why he didn't go mad like the other models?

Are the black boxes to androids like machines' cores to their owners? The "boxes are made from cores" twist was telling us that androids actually think and feel in the same way that machines do? And why A2 and the other older models have fusion cores instead?

I've seen the Black Box artbook, and I don't get the "the redheads never came back" page. Who are they, actually?

During the final fight with Ro-Shi, it was saying the "become as gods" stuff. Can we speculate that it was he made of the parts, maybe cores, of the dead machines from the factory?

Oh, and the short parts about the story of the machines before every location. What was that? Is it explained anywhere? Are Infant Machine's Memories and the story about the machine dropped in the sea are about Grun?

Think of the Black Box as a CPU. The soul and memories of the androids are data to passed around, but a machine wont work without a processor for the data.

The three floating cylinders you battled in takes machine corpses and refurbishes them into new machines. So it's possible some of them retain some memories.

yorha was made by androids who realized that if the war ends the androids will literally idle to their deaths

because yorha was made to prolong indefinitively the battle, they were built to lose, so periodically they are destroyed to give way to the new yorha machines alongside their own destruction planned when they discover too much/act too much like a machine.

the machines are likely the only ones that have not experienced completely the androids idleness issue as pascal shows that they do can live without a direction. as far as it goes if the machines idles they just continue to live while androids literally stand still and rust away

yorha androids are made from machine cores. quite a few of them are more "peculiar" that the usual, already disregarding the "excellent" care they get from their superior/fellow androids

It's not something that N2 would ever consider.

Shit is pretty complex, the network cooperates with androids in a way. The network's purpose is the last order they got from aliums - to fight androids BUT if they finish them off they lose they purpose so they will never ever actually finish their job.

Androids actually want to get rid of the network so they are making Yorha to collect data and improve androidkind, but in the same way that benefits the network by providing the evolutionary pressure.

I think what you are thinking of is the fact that the machines have kept around androids, locked in eternal conflict, in spite of being able to completely overrun them. Because in order to fulfill their bottom line (defeat the enemy) they have to actively have an enemy to defeat. Otherwise they would lose purpose.
