There is matchmaking in casual, but it prioritizes quick games over close matchups.
In an ideal player pool you'd get the people with your exact same """MMR""" (which is hidden in casual). But that's not always possible so it will expand its search much faster and with looser parameters than ranked.

And the same is true for Siege, unless you're just cheesing on low levels by rushing and peeking indiscriminately. There is absolutely a limit to how much you can cheese once your enemies get to a decent level of skill. At a certain point rushing and constantly peeking will hurt you and get you killed more than it will net you kills, but shitters complain instead of getting better at dealing with it and validate each others' opinions of such, so it perpetuates the idea that the game is designed poorly instead of that they're bad.

Is that growth 100% proportional to price and marketing efforts? Is it increasing in growth rate, or is it decreasing in growth rate. If the game has reached 1/3 the price and doesn't really attract over 2x the audience, I'd say that's it's not growing at the rate it should be, other than the physical number of players concurrently increasing. The Steam charts show a very minor growth, even though there are regular Steam sales as well as the starter edition available.

I really think you need to rethink your arguments and come back with something more thought out.

No, but give me another PVP game that focuses on preemptive intel gathering and fortification mechanics as the core of the gameplay. There really isn't one. Not everyone likes those types of games either, as most people prefer simple run and gun "tactical" shooters, and shy away from games like Arma and Siege because their pacing isn't as straightforwards and impatience is more punished.
If you want to use Titanfall vs Battlefield as a good example, I'd say they compete for a target audience (along with CoD) due to their pacing being similar, even though all of their mechanics are vastly different. You can generally move quickly and gather information as you go, just reactively, and do well. That's a big part of why Siege holds a different audience, even though there's always going to be overlap.
On that topic, saying that since people play different games means that their target audiences are the same doesn't 100% hold up, because there are plenty of people that play a wide variety of games. That doesn't mean that those games share a target audience. I play Dark Souls and Resident Evil games. Does that mean that Siege and those two series have the same target audience? Not really. Different players will have different ranges of taste, so "target audience" remains a subjective term.

This is what I mean, there is some sort of underlying argument here that Siege players are not happy with any other game and as such, wouldn't be playing them (or previously only played games to pass the time). But if we want to talk about information, strategy and execution, CSGO also does that. The economy is retardedly complex in the ways it impacts high level play. But in lower level play, much like Siege, a lot of that doesn't matter- how often in ranked are you really making high level decisions about min-maxing your strategy vs the enemy strategy, instead of just kind of coming up with a one size fits all approach?

It does, but what we are talking about right now is wide ranges of people, averages, stats, etc. All the juicy analytical stuff. I think you can agree with a statement that the average FPS player if going to be more likely to enjoy Siege, than lets say the average JRPG player. That is not to say FPS players can't also like JRPG's, or vice versa, but having someone who normally wouldn't ever play an FPS because they don't enjoy them suddenly liking Siege is not a very good prediction.

If you agree with that, you can take it a step further and argue that the typical milsim player, CSGO player, or even in same cases the average SOCOM player, would be more prone to liking Siege than the average COD, Quake, or TF2 player. The former of those games have a lot more in common, atleast in how you are supposed to think about the game, than the latter.

We're not talking about directly competing overall here, but this is why I brought up BF1 vs COD - they made the prediction that Titanfall could stand on it's own and anyone who would be more likely to buying BF1, probably wouldn't be interested in Titanfall 2, and vice versa. Also sort of my argument - if the games audience is mostly maxed out and there is no real way to grow the game - we can't have a narrative that says it's growing in popularity. Why aren't they also making minor changes to appeal to some more FPS players to also bring them in to the mix?

There are a lot of interesting questions to ask if we try and argue the game is growing, and none of the answers would line up with that. It really does seem Ubisoft has squeezed all the juice they can out of this fruit, and feel like there is nothing left to squeeze.

I'd like to see the game grow and evolve, but I think the announcement of the Year 2 roadmap kind of told me that wasn't going to happen. The devs outright saying they won't change a single thing about Siege, and instead just add a bunch more OP's to the game, confirmed it.

Steamcharts show a super minimal growth rate, but yes I agree the player base has actually grown.

I could put forward the argument Siege has a really good REPLACEMENT rate, where players who abandon Siege are quickly replaced by new purchasers, but the game has had big price drops, been available, tons of press coverage, memes on social media, and is "well known" and has only had a tiny bit of growth in comparison to all of this.

Siege should have experienced some explosive growth. When a game gets down to 1/3 to 1/4 the price, it shouldn't only have 3x the audience, the audience should be higher than that because now you have access to a much wider base of more frugal purchasers who have access to the game.

We don't know why the game hasn't blown up in popularity exactly, but I agree with your assessment it's hampered by Ubisoft. There is so much they could be doing. I don't know if it would 100% result in better growth or not, but we know for a fact they literally aren't even trying.

You have a chance of getting one each match, which increases with every completed match, win or lose. You can only roll this percentage for every win, and you don't get shit if you leave. So if I lose 5 matches, I'd have maybe a 50% chance (fake numbers,) then I win a match and try the 50/50 for a box. If I don't get it, the percentage goes up, if I do, I get loot and the % goes to 0.

It encourages staying in the match at least for your cosmetics.

Don't forget the increased damage to the arms/hands. That nerfed his survivability with arms fire. Unlike Montagne who can cover his hand in "tank" mode, Blitz is always exposed in away.

Over all it is a start. These changes won't make him a must pick like Glaz's did. It will just make him bearable to play and players won't feel bad for picking him when they receive a random headshot.

5 flashes is plenty. The only issue I have left is you're not certain if you flashed someone or not. Being hit by the flash makes them do the "hand in front of the face" animation, so you think it's safe to attack them. However, they do that animation if they're totally blinded, or if they were at the edge of the effect radius and can see you totally fine. There isn't a visual marker, like the red glow around Capitao's bolt cloud, to let you know if an enemy was in the area either.

Can't wait to see the new pick rates. I have been seeing a lot of Mira and Glaz play.

Caveria is like Frost and Jackal. Really good for pubs/casual play. Not so good for high level play. If you stick with your team and know the maps really well then you don't have much trouble killing or at least trading her. If you run around on your own (ie pub matches) shes pretty fucking strong.

you cant spawnpeek with spas and the fucking deagle will always let you down. if you're going to use the deagle use it as a close range destroyer and nothing else. no, you wont be able to get "le epik juan deags xd" with it, its a piece of shit. spas also fucks you if the enemy has any sort of cover.

as for cams, throw 2 in areas around the objective and keep one for yourself. use the last one as a way to see the enemy before they see you, throw it in an area where you think the enemy is going to come into and hold that spot. you should be able to get the drop on them for easy kills. you can also use it to scout out potentially dangerous areas. Always be roaming and taking shots at the enemy. You have 2 speed, info, and one of the best defender guns, make use of them.
