I see Hyrule as a union rather than a country. Goron, Gerudo, Rito and Zora territory might as well be other country's due to how specailised their physiolgy, culture and suchlike is to the region and how Hylians need to be very well equipped to stay there or even visit. The Hylian royal family IMO imposed/negotiated some kind of EU style freedom of movement, goods and resources and it's been in place so long that the line between them has faded so they're all just Hyrule now

If you go by OOT, then the Gerudo, Zora, and Gorons are individual kingdoms that have made treaties to Hyrule. In the time of OOT, the kingdom had just concluded a unification war, and that war's end involved the sacred pendants being given to the Zora, the Gorons, and the Great Deku Tree. Those pendants of course are used to access the room with the master sword, and thus gain access to the triforce in the sacred realm. Within the game, Ganondorf has gone to Hyrule to swear fidelity to the king. Even though Ganondorf is just scheming, his action there can be used as a model of what the other kingdoms may have done, which is basically to be an individual kingdom that has sword to be loyal to Hyrule in some way.

Beetles weren't too bad. They show up like crazy at night on the palm trees on the southeastern shores. I just put on the sheikah armor and ran around picking them up. Worst thing was that enemies popping up could scare them away.

Honey wasn't bad either, I used the sensor to find it. I recall there was a forest to the west of Satori Mountain that was lousy with honey. But yeah, other than that, there's no real good specific place to stock up on it. It's just scattered about here and there.

I think "Shadows of Hyrule" or something like that would have been a better name for this game, with the post-apocalyptic vibe. It doesn't actually have much to do with "the wild", or whatever its "breath" is. People have called it a survival game, but I don't think it is more so than any other game with an inventory/cooking system.

I think that was a missed opportunity. The game should have been a bit darker in tone. Could have been "Relics of Hyrule" but that sounds oddly generic. "Hyrulian Legend" would have been cheeky, if redundant.

Oddly enough, I found the game did depress me a bit, mostly because it caused me to be a shut in for a few weeks. I'd realize I was spending every minute of my free time playing a game with almost no music and exploring a massive, lonely world.
