FE1/FE3B1+B2 if you want pure gameplay, fantastic maps and rather revolutionary games for the time. There's also 11+12 remakes with more up to date mechanics.

I'd skip over Gaiden, especially with the amazing remake of it out that fixed a good portion of problems FE2 had.

FE4 is a big fan favourite here, has plenty of interesting concepts and 1st gen has really engaging characters. Alot of cool concepts, from maps design to a story. Fairly easy game if you don't purposely gimp yourself, check it out if you get a chance. A new patch is out for it too.

If you enjoyed FE4, or want a harder game, then FE5 is fantastic. It's difficult, mostly well-designed (with some hiccups here and there), and very pleasing to the eye due to simplistic designs characters have. If you played 6 HM then I don't think you'll have much trouble with the difficult though.

Getting chains for feathers in arena works pretty well for me. I mean, I'm not getting 4,000 feathers a season like some dudes, but just getting 2,500 feathers is decent enough. You get a higher score for using the featured arena units if you can use them, and that'll lead to more feathers. It takes a while but you'll get there. I've only upgraded one unit from 4* to 5* and right now I've got 10k feathers. I'd probably have 20k if I didn't upgrade a bunch of 3* units. The hitting gauntlet gives you a bunch too at the end of I remember right.

I fielded a lvl 1 Beruka, and had 2 lvl 1 Annas as my allies. My opponent was lvl 1 Donnel, lvl 1 Barst, and some healer. The Barst had brave axe, and he basically soloed my whole team. It's funny now that I think back on it.

Flame Shuriken is a must for Felicia. If you give her poison strike from ninja on top of that she can hit really hard.

You should be fine with just Sakura early on, though not having a 2nd healer hurts a little. Everyone can use staves later on so it don't even feel having only one/no healers in the later part of the game.

There's a tree on the right of your starting position where you can draw out only one of the ninjas, instead of letting your initiatory unit getting ganked by 4 dudes at once.
I used Takumi on that spot, the ninja gets healed nearly to full after the first combat, but Vengeance kills him from full. I set up a lvl 25 Shana so that Navarre moves forward and gets -5 speed on the next round, then ORKO'd him with Azura. Then I used Camilla to ORKO the other ninja safely, and the axe and staff units aren't really a threat at all.
Like all of the other lvl40 character challenges, it can quite easily be impossible if you don't have a powerful roster of units to pull from.
