I'll give you a quick breakdown:

>Need hyper armor? Use a talisman. Regular talisman has a healthy mix of hyper armor and damage at 60 FAI. Sunlight Talisman has the strongest HA, but weakest damage. Canvas Talisman is in the middle, like the regular one, but is slightly weaker. Saint's Talisman has the strongest damage of all talismans, but has the weakest HA. Sunless is for dark miracles and requires INT as well as FAI.

>Focusing solely on buffs? Need extra regen? Want the best spellbuff/damage? Consider a chime. Yorshka's chime is the most powerful miracle catalyst at 60 FAI, but has no HA like the talismans. Filianore's Chime adds extra AoE to support miracles, allowing you to more easily reach allies with them. Caitha's, like the Sunless Talisman, is for dark miracles and requires INT as well as FAI. Bellvine grants extra casting speed and is excellent for builds with low DEX and/or those who don't want to use Sage Ring.

There's also the hybrid catalyst, Rose of Ariandel, but that one is more suited to lower level FAI builds because its spellbuff caps at a lower point than the other miracle catalysts, such as Yorshka's Chime. It also requires a good bit of STR, otherwise the damage will be mediocre. Excellent hitbox, though.

Okay, as promised last night, here's how Sharp infusion is looking after the patch when going from 40 to 60 Dex.

Overall, it looks like you're gaining an average of around 20 AR, with Crow Quills and PGCS getting the biggest returns. Given previous findings with regards to how 60 Dex affected Sharp infusions before the patch, I'd guess that the scaling bonus has increased by around 50-100%, depending on the specific weapon.

At the end of the day though, you're looking at about 1 AR increase for each additional level of Dex, and that's still bullshit. So, there's still no reason to go over 40 Dex, unless the scaling improves massively starting beyond 60 Dex (which I can't imagine would be the case, but someone with Collector's Edition can check).

That character was at 52 Dex, I bumped it up to 60 with Milkring + Hunter's.

I could maybe do something retarded like put Dex to 99 and see what the numbers look like then, but I'm too lazy for that. It's unrealistic to expect players to go much beyond 40 for any stat anyways.

Alright I need some advice here I'm SL 45 using the Scimitar (I don't think this might be the best choice) in Anor Londo and it takes me about 8-10 hits to take out the hairless flying things but before then they gank me and kill me should I grab a new weapon or should I farm a bit.

Tentatively updated tier list, besides the obvious lowering of Exile since its damage isn't that far off from other CGS now the only other major changes are based on the Dex-infusion changes with Quilsl going back up to high and Raw in the case of Dragonslayer's Axe. Depends on the weapon but overall they are slightly better. Even on a basic 40/40 build things like Estoc and Washing Pole get a few points more AR on Sharp now along with many others. 60 Dex is still kind of a meme but it's far from pointless.

BKS is amazing for R1 trades but it's only good with that, which perseverance only helps with. Gael's is longer, has the better Claymore R2s which work great with Leo Ring and most importantly has the near death combo that wasn't nerfed for some stupid reason.

It'll certainly hit more people than the BKS R2s, like with Hollowslayer and Claymore the R2s come out fast and have great poise and with leo ring the damage is usually better than a standard R1 combo. Now with Gael's you want to go for the R1WA combo anyway but it gives it more options compared to the BKS which only stands out due to its stupidly high AR.

Honestly, Dark Souls lore is designed to be akin to a choose-your-own-adventure fantasy book, you can power along the story but you'll always come to a 'pick one of three' option and they're all more or less valid.

The Claymore R2s are actually useful though which is why Gael's with its longer range is even better with it. Getting even an uncharged R2 leo trade with someone using it will always make you come out on top in terms of damage unless you're trading with a UGS leo thrusting R2. BKS R2s aren't that bad though, the 2HR2 actually has some decent range that the animation doesn't portray.

You wouldn't want my build. I'm just using weapons and armor that go great with the Lothric theme, like the Dragonslayer's Axe and I'm running a couple buffing miracles. I like the bit of flavor that mixing up a few weapons and armor pieces brings to my build, as long as I adhere to the theme.

I have standard vigor, high endurance, and 30 faith with 18 attunement for 3 spell slots and to use either of my buffs twice or I can stack them, along with the stats for the weapons I'd like to wield. I love my Dragonslayer's Axe and Knight's Crossbow, so I have fairly low STR and DEX, which is a relief to have those levels freed up. I'm thinking about adding the banner to my build. It fits the theme and has really low requirements so it seems perfect. Does it stack with Sacred Oath, for PvE sake?

Why with Great Hammers? Their moveset is still predictable and easy to outspace and the ones below Dragon Tooth are not worth it in terms of damage compared to the weight needed to wield them. The best GH are only as high as they are because they are either lightweight while having good damage or with Ledo's a stupidly high damage R1WA combo along with a WA that's great for people rolling around you.

Dancer's are unironically not that bad by the way, the damage at 40/40 is alright and the basic R1s are fine as well as the running L1s having a weird hitbox that fucks with people.
