New Zelda is ugly as hell. Right in that awful middle ground of cell shaded and realistic. Ugly ass everything. Can't visually compare to games like Wind Waker, or modern games like Dark Souls. Just pick an art style and go with it.

Skyward Sword is much better looking. It actually has contrast. New Zelda really decreased the contrast for some reason. A lot of post 2000 anime did that too. I cannot STAND that look.

Mind you, I don't play any of these Zeldas. I got bored of Twilgiht Princess half way through and stopped playing. It's the same thing over and over again.

I use mameui64 on Win10. It's been 2 years since I played and I had a setup which was working and bunch of roms. I downloaded updated mameui64 in order to play Star Wars Arcade etc BUT... now when launching I can't see any roms at all.

All it displays is bunch of shit like Amstrad GX4000 and Arcadia whatever... I used to have a nice list of available arcade roms and everything worked perfectly.

Can someone please help, I'm going insane. Tried to google but nothing comes up. It's not an issue with rom paths or lack of refresh, at least.

Very much a newbie to using CEMU, just finished setting up to play BoTW a bit over an hour ago.

Is there any way to fix the speedup when you're in shrines. I heard that setting the refresh rate to half from the Nvidia control panel would help but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Running the game on 1.7.4 patreon verified build if that helps.
>>
>>173113354
Download the program called Nvidia inspector. It has a setting that lets you cap the frame-rate of your graphics card. You can't set it to specifically target a certain program though so you just have to remember to turn it off when you're done in cemu.

This also fixes the cutscenes as well so they don't play at double speed.

Unfortunately I personally have run into an issue where using this method causes the first loading screen after launch (from the main menu into the game world) takes an excruciatingly long time (like a minute or so). If you do try out inspector let me know how you go and if you get this issue too.
>>
>>173113354
What you boneheads do not understand this is all about how the software is going to be developed. It is under development. There is no way to fix any of that shit unless you go in and compile few fixes by yourself. Maybe you could ask the dev team about this?

Only Nostalgia drives emulation. Most of these consoles had shitty games. N64 being the worst. It's a Holy Grail of emulation, despite being a dreadful system with terrible games.

Finally, after decades of work, you will be able to play that obscure platformer with terrible controls, 5 feet vision obscured by fog, terrible level design, and awful controls.

Notice how no one EVER plays new "undiscovered classics" on the N64. It's ALWAYS fucking games from theri childhood.

You're best bet is to remake the game in a 3D engine at that point.

Oh btw, that's happening with the Turok games. Most of the actually good N64 games have gotten remakes or updated ports. Making N64 emulation even more pointless.

It's common for PSX romhacks to break the ECC data, which real hardware and accurate emulators don't like. This means that these romhacks won't work in these. So many PSX romhacks do this. It's insane they allow this. They're only testing the games on shitty emulators.

Making this romhack patch the ECC as well will make this a non-issue.

But all is not lost. If you use ECCregen to repair the game after patching, you can make the games work. But it's just annoying busywork for the user to have to do.

ie why are psx romhackers so sloppy and lazy?
>>
so theres no way to play jet set radio future right?

>>173149397

It will show up in Load Content because m3u is a supported extension for Beetle PSX.

It's just a plaintext file that lists the filenames of the cue files. It should be placed alongside the cue files.

If you use a m3u file, then it will load all referenced discs at runtime and let you swap discs without needing to append them. The memory card file for the m3u will be shared across all discs, so you may need to rename your existing .mcr/.srm to match the m3u filename.

On an AMD card, the grass IS fixed in 1.7.4d, but the game runs much slower. Really annoying. I have all the fixes on both version. Great fairy fountain near Kakariko on 1.7.4c runs at 23fps with broken grass. Load the same save on 1.7.4d and the grass is fixed but now the game runs at 9fps.

>I wonder why not using 16bit int depth textures all the way in FBOs for the depth buffer. OGL 3 now supports that.

He mentioned something about this way back.

>As you remember, N64 depth image format is 16bit unsigned integer. GL supports textures with 16bit unsigned integer components. Thus, natural solution was to use such texture for depth buffer data. Shader takes pixel’s Z, converts it to N64 format using lookup table texture, compares that value with the one from the buffer texture and writes the result if the new value is less than the current one. I implemented copy of that texture into RDRAM and run Zeldas to check how it works. Result was negative – no coronas in both Zelda games. I wrote a shader program for depth buffer based fog in Beetle Adventure Racing in hope to visualize my texture and see what is wrong. I got no fog. I wrote a test which just shows my depth texture on screen. The picture correlated well with the rendered scene. That is my depth shader works, but the result is not close enough to what should be. I decided to compare my result with the etalon – depth buffer rendered by Glide64. I dumped depth buffers in both plugins. Values in my hardware-rendered texture were ~10% less than in software-rendered etalon. I checked my code once again and did not find any mistake. As a last resort I decided to replace texture format from 16bit int to 32bit float. Bingo! Coronas are working, fog is working too. The code left the same, just texture format changed. I still don’t understand why integer format does not work: depth shader takes value for depth texture from the lookup table in both cases and there is no place where that value could lose precision. Enigma.

N64 has only 200 games total, and only half of them are playable. There are only 50 great games and everyone played them back then. Even the obscure titles are well known because people were desperate for any content on the Nintendo "only 64 games".
The average home computer since 2003 was able to get 60 frames in most games with PJ64 or Nemu64. Plus each game was 50MB max.
In a few weeks a single person in just their free time could get through the entire N64 catalog. This is why there arent any N64 hidden gems.
PS1 emulation is more intensive, there are almost 5k games, filesizes can be 10 times as big as the N64's maximum, and there's too many buttons to play anything but RPGs comfortably on a keyboard.

Even if that were true, the definition of "great games" is arbitrary to the point yo could argue the PS1 only had 20-30 truly great games.
>The average home computer since 2003 was able to get 60 frames in most games with PJ64 or Nemu64. Plus each game was 50MB max.
N64 emulation didn't start reaching tolerable accuracy until 2015-ish. It doesn't matter how many "frames" the games get if they're running like shit.
>In a few weeks a single person in just their free time could get through the entire N64 catalog.
You could play every PS1 game actually worth playing in a week or two.
>This is why there arent any N64 hidden gems.
Define "hidden gem", anyway. Most people never played games like Rocket: Robot on Wheels. Most people have never played Wonder Project J2. Just look at the people who pretend the N64 has no 2D games because they've never played Japanese stuff like Nushi Tsuri 64, which is an RPG about fishing.
>PS1 emulation is more intensive, there are almost 5k games, filesizes can be 10 times as big as the N64's maximum, and there's too many buttons to play anything but RPGs comfortably on a keyboard.
On the flipside, the PS1 is an incredibly simple piece of hardware compared to N64 games and none of its games attempting anything as complex as the N64 in terms of gameplay or game design.

>387 N64 games
About a couple hundred more than I estimated, I stand corrected.
>the definition of "great games" is arbitrary
If we were to filter both libraries by identical objective standards based on what the majority of people agree makes a great or good game then You'd end up with about 50N64 games and over a couple hundred PS1 games
>until 2015-ish
Worked on my machine. The games surely were playable even if Nemu64 couldnt ever render some shade of green correctly. PS1 games were unplayable on similar hardware by comparison
>You could play every PS1 game actually worth playing in a week or two.
There are about 400 N64 games in total and about 200 PS1 games worth playing so that's correct. Playing all those N64 games is less of a hassle for the reasons I listed. The point was not that the N64 was inferior for having only so many games you could see them all in a week, it's that there are few undiscovered games because you could easily play all the games, while playing every single PS1 game would be almost expoentially more time consuming
>Define "hidden gem", anyway.
If you dont know why even bother arguing. Rocket Robot on Wheels is not a hidden gem, it was well known and heavily recommended by major mags on release. Im not saying the N64 has NO hidden gems, I made a mistake "any" should be "many". The original post is talking about how there are no new hidden gems found anymore. Everyone's played those about a decade ago.
>PS1 is an incredibly simple piece of hardware compared to N64 games and none of its games attempting anything as complex as the N64 in terms of gameplay or game design.
Youre the only one bringing up this console war bullshit. Even more evidence to the original point that nostalgia and the blind fanboyism it induces drives emulation.

Can't afford P5 at the moment

So I'm going back and going through Persona 4 because been a long time

My question
How can I get my Wii U gamecube adapter working with PCSX2?
My regular ass gamepad shat itself on me and I'd really like the comfort I get with playing Dolphin with my Wavebird

Do I need to redo any drivers to get it to be recognized so I can do the mapping myself, or do I need a middle man program in order to get that working?
>>
How long before an emulation retard like myself can run Cemu and BotW at a level superior to the Wii U version without having to learn to use 17 different software apps to achieve it?

Anyone have any tips for setting up a pagefile to deal with the BOTW RAM issue?

I've heard it uses all your RAM regardless. Like someone with 32 GB would still use 99% of their RAM.
>>
>>173232903
Then just make a big page file and let windows do its thing
Like I said, unless the shader bug is fixed, there's not much you can do
>>
>>173231926
Play it on a real machine or wait for the bugs to be worked out.
>>
>>173229761
If it doesn't recognize you'll need to use a controller to button set up.

I would recommend trying to get a new gamepad though if you can afford it or find one cheap, nintendo hardware is rarely supported.

>In conclusion, FirebrandX's methodology for proving what the "true" NTSC colors are is flawed. He took his colors based on what his TV capture card reports to be the color. All capture card come with certain assumptions on how to interpret the color, probably using the SMPTE C standard. There is no guarantee that the captured colors from the card or device will reflect the colors you actually see from a TV screen. I believe his capture card interpreted the colors using SMPTE C colorimetry.

The CPU thing doesn't surprise me, just drop your resolution a bit and check allow 8bit textures, should help your CPU chug less but it will make your GPU chug more so unless you're rocking a 1060 or better stick to 2x or native.

Cutscenes are very GPU limited I can make a 1070 chug on pretty much any of the cutscenes doubt there's gonna be much more improvement on that front until 1.6 releases and even then it's not gonna be fast.

By default MAME allows you to change the clockspeed of any chip the machine uses, you can crank the SNES main CPU to 7mhz instead of 3.5 which is still not quite enough to make something like super R-type or Gradius 3 slowdown free but close enough.

>Jesus christ PCSX2 devs are retarded
Yeah, nevermind the fact that to use PCSX2 legally to begin with you'd need an homebrew capable PS2 (to rip the BIOS) and that enables you to rip directly from the console. even if in a retarded way if you don't have the HDD adapter.

Nobody ever ported it, and if someone did it would likely be stuck on SNES9x due to how bSNES deals with clockspeeds (or rather how it doesn't).

And yes it breaks stuff, just make sure you get to the title screen before you try activating it and don't try changing it too often once ingame, 200% might or might not fuck up everything randomly regardless

I don't doubt there is any lack of interest from an enthusiast point of view for a system that hasn't had a single emulator.
With something like N-Gage you could even set up a patreon to fund yourself if it has enough progress to showcase a bunch of games.

So, I am having a controller related issue.

For some reason, in two very specific menu's (This specific menu before being able to summon, as well as the *purchase* menu from the Blacksmith) the game constantly cycles through the options, as though I was pressing down on the analogue stick. It doesn't happen anywhere else in the game, or other menu's so I am not sure what is wrong. When I unplug the controller, it stops scrolling on these menu's. Changing the plugin doesn't solve the problem. I checked the FAQ, can't find anything.

I really enjoy the idea of pokemon games, and usually i can have a lot of fun in the first few hours, however every pokemon game i played lacks in difficulty, after 3 or 4 hours playing you just know that you basically will never need to worry about losing any battles anymore.

Is there any other franchise that is exactly like pokemon but has better balance? Or even pokemon games that are not so underwhelming, i mostly played the GBA versions.
>>
>>173333940

>>
>>173334218
No generation of pokemon is challenging so you can end your autism right there.

>>173334409
1 and 2 are easy but still more challenging than pokemon
3 is generally considered the best one so a good place to start
4 is a step down from 3 but still a good game.
Then there are endless amounts of spin offs.
Persona 1 and 2 are the closest to mainline in their series. 3 4 and 5 are glorified dating sims so not really what you're looking for.
Play Strange Journey on DS. Theres also Devil Survivor 1 and 2 which have a strategy RPG spin to the games. They don't have demon negotiation so might not be what you're looking for.
Theres also Raidou Kuzunoha 1 and 2 for the PS2. They are action RPGs. Conceptually they might be the closest to pokemon but still very different.
>>
>>173333303

>Unmap buttons one by one in lilypad when it stops you'll have found why it happens.

I fond out what the problem was, but when I tried remapping it somehow that made it worse and doesn't seem to map properly at all now.

It works fine for everything else, so I think I will just need to swap to keyboard controls for those specific menu's, which is a pain in the ass but doesn't seem to break anything.
>>
>>173335020
which version of the emulator are you using?
>>
>>173334409

Persona 3: Nocturne is probably your best bet. One of the first bosses will flat out curb stomp you if you don't try to understand the game's systems and just spam the most powerful move you have.

There are certain bosses that are nearly unbeatable, full stop, if you can't counter their status abilities (either debuffing them, or buffing yourself) or are not utilizing fusion. Basically, think of it like Pokemon, except where elemental weaknesses are *super* fucking important (and where enemies will exploit yours), and where buff/debuff abilities are potentially game-breaking (especially for bosses).

Digital Devil Saga is also pretty great.

Persona 3/4/5 are much more... casual. Some of the bosses are definitely challenging (especially later on with 3) but most everything else about the game is pretty toned down.

TL;DR Play Nocturne. Fusing is important, but it is fine to experiment so don't be intimidated if it is your first game.

I think I figured it out. The right trigger was causing the issue, and when I deleted it the problem stopped.

I think my controller is also a bit messed up, since I was unable to map a lot of random buttons (mostly the analog sticks) once I deleted everything and it ended up creating a lot more issues. Just taking a fresh plugin and only deleting the trigger seemed to work.

The SNES was literally years before I started playing games and I play SNES games often. I've beaten DKC2 100% three times because I love it so much. Not to mention many ps2 and gc games age really fucking well (especially with widescreen patches and HD upres and sometimes texture packs, fuck yeah) and are, in my opinion, better and more FUN than most games releasing since 2007. Plus you get to play in HD. My normie college friends and I play Mario Kart, Mario Party, and Smash Bros regularly on Dolphin on my laptop. Fun factor is so much higher, it's like the soul of gaming shrunk so hard after 2007 and now we just have a shell with a pretty coat of paint.

TL;DR go fuck yourself.

I'm not saying there's no reason for it, it's just not enough to justify working for free on such a complex emulator

Especially considering you generally get a worse experience on an emulator thanks to the dual/touch screen gimmicks and general inaccuracy. This is also why so many people choose to play ds games natively on their 3ds via a flashcart instead of using an emulator like desmume.

Wii U uses the same PowerPC structure as GC, Wii. It's CPU is basically 3 Wii CPUs bundled together. So CEMU is developing quick with these advantages

PS3 uses THE POWER OF THE CELL. Something which confounded devs, is complex, and is powerful. So any PS3 emu dev is going to have a hell of a time, and it's going to be a weird beast for CPUs to translate.

Goddammit, could't you say this first? Wouldn't have read your shitpost then.

Souls 1 literally looked like a GameCube game and Souls 3 is still 100% (100%) static, nothing ever moves and you can't interact with anything, there is no verticality, nothing. It's barely even a video game and you want to make graphics comparisons? Just look at this ugly shit.

Wind Waker looks hundred times better and LITERALLY is technically more impressive with its physics stuff it did back then and other things. Same goes for Twilight Princess since it uses the same engine but of course its textures didn't age well.

However, anyone who wants to tell me Souls 1 is a good looking game is mentally disabled. Just look at Izalith, all the "forests" (without the bloom and fog) without literally any grass, Anor Londo which is just huge, empty halls.

Check core options of RetroArch Mednafen, you can set it to use .mcr format save files (the native Mednafen save forman for PS1) instead othe .sav repacks RetroArch uses for pretty much everything.

Even though you'll have a .mcr specific to you game, with it's same name, it's an entire memory card file you can manage with an external tool like MemcardRex so you can import other game's save blocks into it.

Zelda cancer is the worst. They've remade Ocarina of Time like 20 times. And Ocarina was largely a 3D remake of Link to the Past. omg, at this point I'm beyond giving a shit. Zelda should get MAD props for it's early 2D and 3D titles because they were so revolutionary and ground breaking, but today it's the most boring, dried husk ever. So many games, including Soulsborne series have done it better.

While Skyward Sword could be more or less emulated at its release, it was only recently (maybe 2 years ago at around Dolphin 5.0 release) that I could play it at max resolution with no hiccups without spending too much on a high end PC, a much better experience that the shitty resolution it has on the Wii. For all it's flaws as a game, it's beautifully designed graphically, and it's a real joy to explore without it being restricted to the hardware's native resolution.

The same way, today I don't have a powerful enough PC to play Breath of the Wild 4K with decent framerate at the moment, so I'm playing it on Wii U by brother lend me. I love it so far, but just like it happened with Skyward Sword, I'm very looking forward to replay it one or two years from now after emulation is perfected and maybe using a newer PC.

I'm feeling very happy for emulation, and grateful we get to experience games in different and (sometimes) improved ways after awhile, giving it a second wind.

And I love you guys

I'm still not donating shit to Cemu

>When will there be a link to no-intro 3ds romset on the wiki?
When someone uploads the No-Intro 3DS ROMset on a public site.
>>
>>173436113
What for? No-intro 3DS ROMs are encrypted which means you need an actual 3DS to actually use them with citra.
>>
Should roms in romsets be encrypted? Technically that's a 1:1 copy of the disc/cart but still useless if the console didn't get completely hacked.
>>
>>173441775
>but still useless if the console didn't get completely hacked.
Then how would you decrypt the ROMs to begin with? And if you don't need a hacked system to decrypt the ROMs, then it doesn't really matter if they're encrypted or not.
>>
>>173440230
For archiving purposes, what else?
Also, it's rather short-sighted to say that only the decrypted roms are worth downloading/hosting. What happens when citra integrates on-the-fly decryption into their emulator? Those with decrypted roms will feel compelled to redownload their games in the 'correct' format. I, for one, have no interest in using either citra or rpcs3 in their current half-finished state. Give me an emulator that can handle freshly dumped roms or don't bother. Emulated BIOSes are also quite shit, I'd honestly prefer developers force me to dump it myself or find one online rather than introduce some hack that leads to shit compatibility and a bunch of useless bug reports that only get in the way of real progress.
>>
>>173428261
Took some work, but that did the trick.

Thanks mate.
>>
>>173442029
Unless the game is encrypted with some per-console key, you just need to know the decryption scheme and obtain the master key that's identical for every unit and embedded in the hardware. Then you can just write a tool that mimics the decryption process and use it with the key.

Here's stage 2 using NTSC FCC 1953 standards.

Red bricks.
>>
>>173444310
Because they're non-standard, i.e. a small subset of Sony TVs used that decoder IC for the purpose of making the colors appear move vibrant than standard NTSC decoding used in most other TV sets.

The whole palette debate is dumb because the NES operates in YIQ color space, which is a much larger gamut than the sRGB color space used on PC. This especially affects the blue colors on the NES palette, which are almost always clipped when the saturation and brightness are normal.

None of those sky colors in that image are 100% accurate to what a NTSC CRT would display because the blue color it outputs is higher than 100% sRGB blue, it's more like 150% blue intensity, which you monitor can't output in normal circumstances.

These problems still affect analog RGB, so the NESRGB has the same color palette issues as emulators do.
>>
>>173446505

But the "standard" palettes produce weird colros. You have to be super autistic to think this is an "improvement".
>>
>>173446820

NES was not known for outputting good colors, dude. The debate is muddied by the fact that TVs can change the saturation and hue of the colors so everyone has a slightly different idea of what the colors were like on their TV. So what you think is "weird" was probably normal for someone else.

>>
>>173470204
Because they are not built-in on those cores. Nestopia has the benefit of having nes_ntsc built directly into the core in the rendering stage. Same thing with Genesis Plus GX and sms_ntsc and md_ntsc.

Snes9x has always just loaded snes_ntsc in their video blitter outside the core code, older versions of bsnes did the same except using external plugins, but it stopped working in the newer versions when bsnes started outputting in a different color format internally.

RetroArch also has external filter plugins for snes_ntsc filters but it will only work in Snes9x core due to the filter only supporting RGB565 pixel format.

Comparison of the letter S between them, all using S-Video.

Maister, for whatever reason really darkens the entire image. Also Blarg has 2 pixels of blur, while Maister has up to 5 pixels of blur.

Also Maister is a proper shader, which takes a lot of power to run in comparison. So it can't run on low end systems.

1. S-video is not accurate for NES, because that only outputs composite video.

2. The S-video shader can be sharpened by increasing the horizontal scale factor in the shader preset. This is already done on the tvout presets with NTSC S-video.

It's still DIFFERENT, which is the point. It darkens the whole image for some reason. And even after tweaking it, it's still different. The original contention was that they were:

>"Maister's NTSC shader is 99% the same as blargg's NTSC filter."
>>
>>173475964
99% is not 100%, there are obviously minor differences. The NTSC shader doesn't do gamma adjustment on its own, doesn't implement a sharpening filter (which is NOT part of the S-video signal, but rather part of the TV's processing). It might also have differences regarding blurring in gamma vs linear color space.

But all the things that matter, like the color bleed and the fringing, are the same since they are implementing the same NTSC video encoding algorithms.

GTU-Famicom is probably more accurate for NES because it's basically a direct port of http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/NTSC_video#Emulating_in_C.2B.2B_code
>>

>99% is not 100%, there are obviously minor differences.

The difference between Maister and Blargg is WAY more than 1%. It's dishonest to claim that they are that similar.

Maister's is also way blurrier, and totally not accurate at all.

Why isn't anyone talking about this?
>>
>>173499242
Already out of date and not very good. As always SP cares about core quantity not quality.
>>
anyone got any tips for better botw on cemu 1.7.4d? tried the 19k shader pack and cemuhook dll and it seems to help a bit, don't seem to need the amd bokoblin eyes pack anymore, but I'm struggling to pull 10 fps when I'm outside running "vanilla" cemu and 15 with the extra shit

is my old 8350/7870 combo just too slow for this? my single core performance obviously isn't great
>>
>>173499035

I thought SP and zeromus were buddies
>>
>>173501408

SP has nothing to do with that port.

Also, there is literally nothing out of date about it.
>>
>>173499242

It's still not really ready but people can test with it already.

Core options still need to be implemented; Wiimote controls, etc.

However, it is a good indication of things to come.

Good thing there are only so many bsnes-oriented cores to choose from.

Also, tell your gay buttloverboy byuu to make his own libretro core then, or piss off to Higan. Problem solved.

If it stops you from shitposting then yes, you should just use something else.

Your one weaboo game that nobody has any interest to play does not matter all that much in the large scheme of things. Grow up.

If you and byuu truly cared that much, you'd make an upstream Higan libretro core instead of bitching about it. Your one weaboo game that is obscure even in Japan is not worth investing the time in to make a Higan core, sorry.

Nicher than niche garbage is still garbage in the end.

>>
>>173509982

Because his own emulator is failing to get any kind of userbase, as per his own admission, and people would rather just use a libretro core.

As per his own words on reddit.

At least this way he can control his own port.

If this was about a 'war' to make sure libretro goes nowhere, then I'd figure he has already lost that war, and he should swallow his pride and do what people tell him to do.
>>
>>173509982
Because then Daniel could get more Patreon money, without begging someone competent to do that port.
>>
>>173510630

Byuu's crappy code is not anybody's concern.

If byuu would join the 21st century and start using git repositories like a normal human being, people would be able to more easily sift through his garbage instead of these huge tarball releases.

As it is, people backport. Alcaro's bsnes mercury has lots of advantages that make it worthwhile over byuu's Higan.

If you don't like it, don't use it. Nobody is forcing you to use it. Variety is the spice of life.

>>173511149

You have yet to establish it actually happens.

You are a troll posting on an anonboard with a history of making shit up. Nobody is going to take you seriously. Post it somewhere and demonstrate it's an actual issue if you want a serious response. You know where to go.

Until then, the issue doesn't exist. And when you do make that github issue, you better put some savestates to it as well because nobody is going to slog thousands of hours through your JRPG, sorry.

>>
>>173511606

Only a shitposter would continue posting a 'legit issue' on a weaboo imageboard that has a propensity for attracting serial stalkers and people that harrass devs vs. doing what any normal and legitimate user would do:

1 - Make a Github account
2 - Post the issue on the respective issue board (i.e. the bsnes libretro repo)
3 - Post a savestate with it along with a description
4 - Wait for devs to deal with your issue.

But you and I both know this is just about shitposting, anyway. Most likely your issue isn't even true. So yeah, just 'switch your emulator', nobody needs trash like you to begin with - with your fake issues.

Crash and Spyro look better than every single n64 game, including Conker. Even the best looking N64 game suffers trash framerate, blocky environs, blurry textures, and the overarching feeling that the game is barely held together with krazy glue and duct tape.

In the OP post.

That means going to Github and making a detailed issue report. Just posting it in here is not good enough because no emudevs take this place seriously.
>>
Case in point, people post fake bugs here, so emudevs are less likely to listen to this thread:

>>173106321
>>
>>173517328
bsnes libretro core has been outdated for years now

a literally who playing an "edge case" game isn't going to change that now especially now that SP himself came in this thread to autistically defend it.
>>
>>173517445
>so emudevs are less likely to listen to this thread
Yet SP comes here and sperges out almost religiously.
>>
>>173517503
bsnes-mercury has the snes specific stuff backported from newer versions, so it's not really "outdated" in that sense.

If there is an issue with a specific game, then it should be reported with detailed instructions on how to reproduce said bug. Then perhaps it could get fixed if there is some other change that shoud be backported. Otherwise the core has no other known issues.

Also, the TAS community still uses v87 in Bizhawk and lsnes, they're even more "outdated". That shows you that not many care about staying in sync with byuu.
>>
>>173518364
the TAS "community" will take runs even if you use VBA
Their standards aren't exactly high.
>>
>>173518282
1. The possibly of it being a fake is statistically significant
2. If he's just coming here to shitpost then that means he is certainly not taking this place seriously enough to act on any bug reports...

Here's the paradox: RA wouldn't exist today in its present form without him.

I'm not sure what would have happened to SSNES if he wasn't around to port it to PS3 or help Maister with porting cores other than bsnes.

RA would have been dead after Maister stopped working on it, if he was not around to keep it alive. There would have been little progress past 2014 if he hadn't kept going.

He definately has some significant personality flaws but RA owes its existence to him as much as it does to Maister. So I could hardly call him a "parasite" or "actively harming the project". He's good in my book as long as he keeps working on RA.
>>
>>173520557
>RA would have been dead after Maister stopped working on it
Because no other maintainer would have existed?
Even closed source projects can change hands without issues. Its not like SP is some universal constant.
>>
>>173520842
Who would have taken up that duty, then? Maister explicitly handed SP the lead maintainer role because of the above and because he was still active.

Byuu doesn't deserve any money since he doesn't really do anything. He's done. His contributions to emulation are over.

MAYBE I'm wrong. Maybe Higan's non-snes cores will go somewhere. But until then, Byuu is finished. He's an emulation nobody. A figure who did something in the past, but he's done now.
