I'm playing midrange with 3 Thanes and 2 Hector and I'd much rather play these high value board refills than straight up aggro. I climbed with aggro last expansion and it stressed me the fuck out trying to push every single point of damage and getting completely cucked by a little bit of heal or ward. Midrange is so much more comfortable, sometimes you can sit back and flood and it feels way better.

Little Soulsquasher, Orthus and especially pic related have been a blessing, you get a lot of good damage and your board has a lot of sticking power. Hector isn't necessary, but he does too much for me to not like him. Creates boards, removes boards or buffs your current board to go for the kill.

I would argue that Cygames didn't want Roach to be the central and only win condition to Forest decks. Roach is an extremely strong tech card that is one way for Forest to close out games but if it's allowed to have that kind of consistency it really renders much of the rest of the match irrelevant.

Forest has gotten a few good cards from the expansion to slot into its tempo and wolfbolt decks. There is certainly no "settled" meta deck that exists for forest yet especially when you see a guy with 27 winstreak in masters with a non-wolfbolt deck that essentially looks basically like a new control-roach archetype.

If anything once people figure out a good forest deck everyone will flock back to the craft to netdeck again. People were sleeping on roach decks in RoB, it's absolutely idiotic to call the meta settled not even a week into the expansion.

Luminous is a great tempo play and forces your opponent to deal with her if he doesn't want to throw the game. When facing an aggro player who ignores her and goes face, I follow up with White Paladin and it completely shuts them down. Of course, results will vary based on your deck, but I've always found turn 5 Albert an underwhelming play compared to saving him for turn 9 (or 10 with Mentor's Teachings).

At this point we can safely say that Cygames fucked up their balancing thanks to forcing in more and more wincons like DShift and Aegis.

Dragon works because it ramps, and thanks to Sibyl it can do so without dying so often. It wins if and when it gets to 10 PP a few turns ahead and starts dropping big threat after big threat, hopefully before these absolute wincons go off.

Aggro Shadow isn't as bad because they rely on Catacomb so much and Fire Chain blows them out. Cerb Howl is the only scary thing, but even then Iceform can stop half of the burst.
