The covenant boss fight was a horrible idea. If you solo you get fucked 3 vs 1 which is by far one of the most frustrating areas of the game which greatly encourages summons. On the other hand if you summon phantoms to help you out the covenant player ends up getting fucked because the first NPC spear spawns almost a minute before the player does.

I've been doing co-op church fights for hours and i've yet to lose a fight with randoms against a covenant player because it always ends up in a 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 1 because nobody wants to solo and get 3 vs 1'd themselves, its pretty fucking broken.

Gael has the same 1 - 2 - 3 attack patterns with the occasional lunge, he's pretty predictable. Havels shield counters him. Granted it still took me maybe 15 mins to beat Gael because of his massive HP pool but he was probably the 2nd easiest boss in the dlc after demon prince.

Greirat has outright disappeared from my game with no precedent, rhyme or reason.
I freed him pretty late, just before Abyss Watchers. Sent him to pillage the Settlement just fine. Finished Siegward's rescue from the well before sending him to Irithyll. He never came back. Finished Siegward's questline, killed every Lord, he's still not back.
His corpse isn't in Irithyll or on the roof of the Grand Archives.
Has anyone else encountered this scenario? Is it a glitch from the newest patch? Am I fucked?

They relegated Faith to dedicated support with those spells. Three weapon buffs, bunch of heals\regen where the latt erusck big balls, lightning spears got nerfed between games, and WoTG is useless with that channel time.

Blessed weapon is hot garbage compared to the base 15 faith replenishment miracle. The replenishment miracle heals up to 300 health, BW up to 45, and gives you a 7.5% damage increase. In order for that damage bonus to make up for the 255 health deficit it has vs replenishment, you need already be able to do 3400 damage before your 45 second buff ends (because 7.5% of 3400 is 255), which basically requires killing three people.

Even if we assume you sit at full HP instead of recharging for the first 30 seconds of each miracle, BW still has a healing deficit of 135, meaning you need to do 1800 damage in that time, which is enough to kill nearly anyone without even needing blessed weapon.

Now theoretically if a 1% damage bonus turns your weapon from two-hit kill weapon into a one-hit kill weapon, then it's going to basically feel like your damage has been doubled, so there are situations where offense might be better, but looking at it tit for tat it's a lot worse than replenishment, especially since you can just cast replenishment then apply a resin for most if not all of the damage blessed weapon adds for a longer duration with faster regen.

I would say fuck the chime, get a talisman and use lightning stake. People will try to get up in your face when you shoot arrows at them, throwing down a stake right when they think they've reached the finish line feels really good. If you ever want to go higher, consider using Anri's SS when you get it since the cleric class starts off with a bunch of luck. At this level, you're going to want the prisoner's chain.

If this is an invasion build you actually have three spare levels though, SL 25 and 26 both invade down to SL 6 due to how the rounding works out.

Well, I initially got tired of the game due to oversaturation with the series, but I remember being real pissed with everyone - invaders and coop alike - using the same weapons (short swords were more powerful than great swords, tedious R1 spam) and the balance overall being very disappointing for the third game in the series overall. Magic was incredibly weak, from what I remember. Very weak. Everyone was a quality build. Most boss weapons were not great i.e. the Dancer's weapons.

I did a fair bit of invading (got my 30 shackles, got my thingamabobs for the lady in the Cathedral, can't remember her name) but didn't get summoned as a Darkmoon once. I couldn't face grinding the knights in Anor Londo for ears anymore which added to my frustration.

I was real sad we went back to shitty whips and scythes, especially after BB. I've seen some nice footage of some cool new weapons from the first DLC though (some knives+blade combo or something, the scythe from the female boss). Plus I always liked the Painted World (I don't care too much for Ringed City, but more DLC means more spells and weapons, which is always good).

I guess I wanted more weapon variety and better Int-based magic at the end of the day. Is a pure sorcerer build now viable? Or is it still pure suffering? Sorry, I don't hate the game, but these were my gripes at the time and if they were even marginally fixed, I'd be up for playing again.

You might be more happy where things are now, pure STR builds are very popular nowadays due to the ultra weapon and Sharp/Heavy infusion buffs along with several great pure STR weapons being in the DLC. Sorcery and Faith have good offensive options even if they require different playstyles now. Darkmoons are still borked but only because no one carries Way of the Blue from my experience anymore. Reapers are good since the patch that buffed them but whips still suck.

If you want advice on a pure Sorcerer build just ask since I have experience with it with some of the more melee-INT weapons as sidearms.

Dark Souls 2 was Shibuya's fault. Tanimura came in late and fixed the thing. It was a hot fucking mess before that. Wasn't even a Souls game even slightly.

Everything good about Dark Souls 2 is his doing. The DLC's he sadly had to stick to the base games mangled pizza base, but the DaS2 DLC did the best they could to salvage that game and they did a great job of it.

Tanimura if he was the one to direct DaS3 from the very beginning alone, would've made a much better game than Miyazaki sticking his foot in out of his presidency chair to mess with things.
