Warlord's mark's life leech can fail if you're dealing too little damage per hit to leech more than 1 life back, usually only an issue early on but if the enemies are highly curse resistant this can happen lategame as well.
Some enemies are curse immune and some cannot be leeched from.
If you're using curse on hit, the hit applying the curse will not benefit from the leech the curse provides.
Some uniques prevent you from leeching.

But, honestly, in a game where the majority of the gameplay revolves around killing big packs of enemies as fast as possible, AoE is king. Even in Diablo 2 all the good PvE melee builds were AoE (WW etc.), or at least focused on attacks that dealt with larger packs of foes in your melee with one attack (Zeal, that wolf fury whatever it was).

I'm trying to make a CI Dagger Assassin here. I already have the gear and whatnot.

- How good is the ES recharge cluster near CI and the jewel socket nearby?
