I am genuinely curious why people think he's good when the only thing separating him from a normal Mercy is the call outs, which you know, a basic rule when you play competitively.

Thats because the diamonds and higher keep shitting on all of them to climb back up and drop out over and over thanks to how the system works.

Imagine it like this the SR past mid plat is drawn from each other directly with little new SR being added at the top, and more being taken out from losses. So people continually get pushed down by those pushing up. Then the people being pushed at the bottom beat plats to death to get back up and the cycle repeats.

New players add SR in giant increments only below that cutoff point. Which means that high plat players are usually punching bags for the upper echelons of the playerbase.

Hey guys, does anyone know of any analysis people have done of the relative charge times for each hero?
Im thinking of making a video on it but dont know if its already been done before.

Theres shitloads of information in this game i havent seen anyone talk about, for example

>Characters at the green line in damage trade 1-1 with ana in ult percentage if they do trash damage (assuming no deaths and all damage is healed by ana)(edited)

The first one i posted is the amount of damage/healing in health points needed to charge the characters ult by 1%

For instance, if zen heals for 50hp, he gainst 1% ult charge.

It has relevence in dealing damage which gets healed up.

If you deal 500 damage as genji but land no kills and that damage is healed up by an ana, you gain 33.3% ult charge, and the ana gains 27.8% ult charge

If the other teams running lucio zen, you're always trading well in ult % by trading damage and having them heal it up.

It shows why sombra is so good when ran and actively fed with ult charge through health packs, since her healing gives her a much higher ult % gain compared to the other healers

I think everyone at a high level of play understands the concept behind this data, but none of them care to pursue it because maybe a Zenyatta ultimate is worth more to their team than an enemy having one nanoboost. Basically the best knowledge that comes out of it I think is to not uselessly throw damage as Zarya for example.

The other good point of data is to target Ana first. That's because other healers have such a low charge ratio per point of damage healed compared to Ana, and Ana cannot heal herself (much), so it is always most efficient to throw damage at Ana until she dies. Zen healing her won't get that much ultimate charge if you fail to kill her. Ana should always be the first focused target.

Each character has a number of points to charge their ultimate, and the passive ult charge gain is a fixed number/seconds.
(i cant be asked to work out the exact number atm as the % gain matters more than the points gain)

The amount of ultimate charged per point of damage or healing varies between characters.

The first graph is the amount of points of healing healed or damage dealt to charge your ult by 1%

The second graph is just for fun as i found that the ult percentage gain per point of damage is roughly the same as the ult percentage gain for 5 time the number of seconds that you passively charge in game

The third graph is the number of points the character needs to charge their ult

You also naturally have to take into account how good your ult is, for instance trading 120% ult charge from a mcree to an ana is still not worth it for your team, but trading to get genji's ult up is really valuable.

the tickle gun generally deals more damage and is overall better to use unless you can get an environmental kill. between the jumping the flailing and the knockback it's basically impossible to do much with winstons ult other than be a minor distraction and feed the enemy ult charge.
