If it took you "years" to replace a NIF and a dozen or so DDS files, then yes Sexout would be too much trouble for you. Although to be fair, a lot of the more popular SO modules do require bullshit like SCR and a lot of other crap. But no, in general Sexout doesn't take much to install, just get all the core stuff and you're good for the most part if you only use simply stuff like SexoutSexLite. Unethical Deeds is a great all-in-one debauchery mod that doesn't require the two billion dildos, pregnancy gear, and shit fetish equipment in SCR.

All farming done in Legion lands is done by the handful of pre-existing non-tribal communites that the Legion has conqeured.

But Sawyer has been quick to point out that those people are not slaves, nor are they citizens of The Legion, as the Legion itself is purely military, with zero civilian aspect to it.

Legion has been around for 30 years, it has to have some infrastructure of it's own to sustain itself for that long. Also what would the caravans who supposedly have stable and secure trade routes even do if the Legion had no domestic economy? The whole concept is fucking retarded at all levels.

The Legion is an army that holds a front from Yuma to the Grand Canyon against the NCR, which is the most populous and moderately advanced faction in the world. It does this while maintaining complete dominion of a geographical region as large, it couldn't support such an army on loot, forage, and hunting, and to make the assertion that it does is stupid, and short-sighted to make them purely a raider faction (which they arguably are).

I'm not trying to glamourize the Legion here, but I really wish it would be more thought out.

The additional Legion locations would have had more traveling non-Legion residents of Legion territories. The Fort and Cottonwood Cove made sense as heavy military outposts where the vast majority of the population consisted of soldiers and slaves. The other locations would have had more "civilians". It's not accurate to think of them as citizens of the Legion (the Legion is purely military), but as non-tribal people who live in areas under Legion control.

Gonna be honest. The logical flaws of post-apocalyptic economies and civilizations in fiction often annoy the hell out of me.

If I were to set up a new society in a post-apocalypse, I'd definitely stay away from a primitive material economy. Because I'd be at risk of someone coming upon a massive cache of the material I chose and upending my entire society.

I'd probably rely on hard barter, debt, and redundant archival. I'd not twist the wrist of smaller outposts of society I absorb into my own. I'd get the communal guarantee of a percentage tithe. Depending on the issues of the community, I may instead offer to relocate them, knowing the guarantees of said tithe wouldn't amount to much given distance or the limitations of their surroundings.

May bitch about the tyranny of the state, but it'd be a benevolent tyranny most wouldn't even notice unless they fucked up really badly.

I argued that I didn't think Cannabalism would be accepted in the Legion because they'd have slave pool to do farming, you replied with "NO, THATS WRONG", and I was like "bullshit" and it's just semantics. There are farming communities under their dominion, which makes sense to support the large Legion itself. So it was obviously a miscommunication about semantics, and maybe a disagreement about the scale of farming and domestic economy the Legion dominion has (as I reject the assertation the Legion doesn't do any form of mining considering they control the most resource rich area of the continent).

All women and children in The LEgion are part of the military. Women serve as slaves, and children are trained from birth to be soldiers.

Now they don't even have stats to differentiate them, just damage resistance. They took the first big step by making PA it's own entity instead of just a normal suit of armor, but then instead of using that to make different types of PA have distinct abilities like they do in the lore, they just made the only difference between T-45 and fancy Enclave Advanced PA it's armor rating. And they also had to compromise the visuals for the animation of getting into the suit. For example replacing Advanced PA's cooling fan with the stupid tank hatch, and having the fusion core fucking exposed on your back for anyone to shoot, along with all kinds of tubes and shit that you probably don't want shot.

It's just a case of one step forward, two steps back.

Making copies is usually done when they want to outfit a specific NPC, or group of NPCs, with a themed weapon type, but also want to make sure it doesn't get modified by any potential changes to the original weapon that have happen over the course of the game

Its the same reason many dungeons have thier own specific copy of generic raiders just for them, instead of using just a singular raider template for them all.

If fusion cores give off any amount of heat (which seems more or less the case) they'd need some sort of cooling system; the most basic would just be a fan whereas a more advanced one would be a bulky liquid refrigeration system, like what's found in a household icebox or a car. Power armor having bulky rear chassis would make sense given the amount of space required for the mechanical components, so the X-01 makes the most sense out of all the power armors because of the massive chassis.

Originally, Roger Maxson, the founder of the BoS, set up the organization as a means to protect the people of the wasteland from making the same mistakes of the past by controlling technology.

The BoS originally did this by working with outside groups(like the fledgling Hub and Shady Sands) to help them on technological devlopment.

However, after the war with The Master, and his super mutant army, in Fallout 1, the BoS was strapped for manpower, and held a vote to decide if they should let in outsiders.

The vote eventually resulted in anyone labeled a progressive being sent on a scuicide mission to the Midwest, in an effort to track down the remnants of the Master's Army.

While the airships these progressives used to travel crashed, they survived, and formed the Midwestern BoS.

With all the progressives gone, the West Coast BoS turned into a massive ball of infighting over who could be the most conservative, which ruined their relations with the NCR, and got them in a war.

Years later, a respected western Paladin by the name of Owyn Lyons was sent on a mission to Washington D.C., to recover technology there since they have already scourged most of the west coast.

Seeing the horrors of the wasteland, and ow much people suffered, first hand, Lyons changed his ideas to be more like those of the Midwestern BoS.

This caused the Western Elders to basically tell him to go fuck off, and he founded what basically became a separate BoS(like the separate Midwestern BoS)

The BoS in Fallout 4 is Lyons splinter group, which as done better for itself then the western BoS

APA = made from the Blueprints and parts of the X-01 prototype, after many failures in creating a new power armor from scratch

All enclave power armors are simply variants of the original X-01 Prototype, all made and still using the same frame and style, only Mark III/Hellfire was something New and Different, and if you look at it made using both X-01 and the T-51b/60 power armors

Hell, we know from Broken Steel that Lyons refused to give any of the non-feral ghouls from Underworld any of the fresh water from Project Purity, and Bigsby had to make a backroom deal to get it to them.

Lyons only had a heart for humans, he tolerated non-ferals, but Lyons would have killed Danse just as fast as he was to take the FEV from you and destroy it in Fallout 3.

An experienced modder polishing my stuff so it doesn't break everyone's game, and also possibly testing stuff would be fantastic. I kinda jury rigged the barrels in and they don't have projectile nodes, I was gonna mess with that all later, but if you wouldn't mind looking at it, maybe the mod could be out MUCH faster.

Also since I've never made a gun with equippable parts before, I'm a bit worried I did something totally backwards that would cause instability and conflicts with loads of shit.

Yes the pre-set background limited how much you could make up your own backstory, but the plot was actually far more akin to Fallout 1/2's plots, which both put the lives of you friends/family(in the Vault or in Arroyo) in your hands and told you go to out and save them, then NV's was IMO.

I actually felt there was a reason to care about what was going on in Fo4, rather then just sort of going through NV's plot detached from everything going on simply because I wanted to beat the game.

IIRC, targeting hud is an omod; you'd just have to duplicate/rename an existing one, and add the associated keyword to it so that you can craft it onto the synth helm. PA Interface would likely be alot more difficult, but I'm not familiar with it much. PA is a seperate race, and therefore has different entries, but there maybe a "isinPA" keyword or something. Might want to ask Trainwiz about that one.

You can certainly get that working; not sure how you'd get that working though, if your talking in relation to your idea of moving trains around the commonwealth. I haven't tested how many sequences we can store in a single nif. Unless your sequences are few and far between, your going to run into a serious bloat issue.

You can't have a map this big, so dense with random encounters, in a system that depends on radiant quests that send you to the opposite corner of the map, and not have fast travel.

It isn't about speed entirely. It's about purpose and motivation.

Let's say I want to go from Egret to Jamaica Plains.

The direct path takes me Through West Boston, near the bombed out Fallon's across from Gunner Plaza. If I haven't already cleared the way, that's going to eat up an hour. If it's at all difficult, I'll probably lose interest after reloading 3 or 4 times.

If I go a little south, around Gunner Plaza. That's if I don't care about their stuff, and just ignore killing them, and they don't randomly see me. Then I'll cross a ghoul-infested school, which can also be "skipped", but then I hit a church with a "random" encounter, which probably can't be avoided.

That puts me about a third of the way to my destination, where I'm still going to have to put in work.

Now, granted, if I haven't been to JP before, I can't fast travel there. That's fine. I've probably been somewhere nearby though.

What if I want to go from Greygarden to Sanctuary though? It's a ten minute walk where I'm never in danger, and not going to find anything moderately useful, except maybe some ammo. Why shouldn't this process be streamlined?

Fast travel without a cost is bad. A caravan system like the one in Horizon is a good start to a lore friendly and balanced way to handle fast traveling. Traveling back and forth areas is not only time consuming, but tedious, and unnecessarily taxing my machine since FO4 is an unoptimized mess of a game.

I'm perfectly fine with it...on the first traversal. Second or third, sure. I keep mentioning Sanctuary and how going back to it provides me no benefit, but I have a bunch of resources (junk) there. If I want to move these resources to a more central location, it requires several trips. I can negate this, mostly, with Local Leader. Maybe my reason for needing to go back and forth between perfectly safe locations is trivial and specious. Either there shouldn't be any reason at all or it should be convenient for me to do so.

I also found after one survival play through i knew the map much better.

I suppose people want different things from the game. I know there is a fast travel mod for survival. I got the console mod because there were many times where i got stuck somewhere and usually have to grenade myself dead so i can get out.

I think it works fine if you know how to mix and match to your own taste. For some reason matched sets in Fallout 4 do look pretty bad, but when you fuck around and include a different size pauldron or different pauldron from another set altogether, maybe change up the leg armor a little, it works a lot better.

It's almost like Bethesda designed all of it around this idea that people would be piecemealing instead of trying to get complete suits. This is most noticeable I feel that the "freefall boots" which are unique and a "matched" pair of legendaries are in different sizes, along with most of the models shown posing in the load screens.

Textures help a lot too, I think. I feel the marine armor looks really bad but for some reason the CoA markings look fly as hell.

How many of you would actually side with the Enclave if a Fallout game officially gave you the means to? And I mean beyond just poisoning the water purifier for Eden, but actually being an active duty Enclave operative.

I get the feeling that the reason most people are into the Enclave (aside from their tech) is that they're kind of a "forbidden fruit" at this point. In this series of games where a major selling point is being able to play a character however you wish, since their inception into the series the Enclave is never someone you can legitimately side with.

I feel like if all the mystique of being the "bad guy no matter what" were just gone, they'd have a lot less fans.

A civillian/research facility with a tiny military presence would be a good start. It would motivate the group to seek an alliance. I think another issue the Institute ultimately has is that they've basically blocked themselves off from all outside criticism. They're basically a hugbox society with everyone complimenting eachother on 'what a brilliant idea' they just had and patting eachother's backs without once thinking about if an idea is brilliant or even practical.

Hell, when it came time to raid the Institute, third gen synths like coursers were dying in droves, but what actually gave The Minutemen pause? Gen-IIs with a shitload of armor and heavy weapons.from the outside.

Clearly for everything the Institute wanted to trump up coursers to be, they were not nearly the combat units they truly needed and should have kept Gen-IIIs focused as infiltrators.

Do we know how adoption works in the Commonwealth? Does Geneva have a resident roster or do we just open our arms for a kid who doesn't have parents or what? Is there an orphanage somewhere like in Skyrim? It would make sense for there to be one, considering how often people might die and leave a family behind.

After things settle down with the Institute and raiders and whatnot, Cait and I might want to adopt a kid.

For example, I'm sure in a more ideal world, Bethesda would have remembered to have had Synth components be randomly found on some people you kill instead of rare, scripted events to drive home the paranoia.

Or that Preston Garvey was probably meant to be more interesting than just 'another settlement is under attack'.

Or the Brotherhood of Steel was meant to have more justifications.

The Institute was supposed to be more threatening but show much more progress.

I've honestly chosen to combat this rampant robot retardation by not only siding with the Institute but also devoting an inordinate amount of time to creating a robot army and robot-run communities on the surface, with all manner of variety of murderbots limited only by my diseased imagination. If they can't produce rapey killdrones on par with with other factions then by gum I'll do it myself.

Unfortunately my character is also a raiderboss so this doesn't look as clean and cool and Skynet like as it could, they're all covered in spikes and skulls and brahmin feces. Sometimes I regret siding with the raiders of Nuka World but I've been hoping for a raider faction for some time and I'm not going to switch gears now that's for sure.

well, I'm not him but that's nice. I myself would probably suggest Super Mutants controlling most of downtown, namely that area where you recruit Strong. Maybe have Gunners more on the edges of Boston Proper focusing on recon and intelligence than directly battling, and maybe the Raider Gangs would mostly be hiding indoors in small pockets.

I feel like the Brotherhood of Steel has really benefited from the main story roleplay this time around. The main character this time sees firsthand just how dangerous technology in the wrong hands can be. It literally takes everything away from you. Then you encounter the brotherhood, who pitch themselves as being devoted to preventing such a disaster from ever happening again, AND being willing to provide you with super advanced weaponry and power armor to help you handle whatever is between you and your son.

Joining any of the other factions when I'm taking the story seriously just seems silly.

Rather than being able to help you find Shaun, the Minutemen need you to help them. Forever. Alone.

As for the Railroad, their mission of freeing synths has absolutely nothing to do with you. While they will help you in fighting in the institute, any aid they can provide is minuscule in comparison to what the Brotherhood has to offer.
