Just finished the game.

The first fight against Ganon was pretty cool, the second part pretty boring... I mean, is it even possible for him to hit you ? Ganon design was pretty good, but overall it didn't reach the whole feeling of impending doom you got in Oot. Maybe because of the music.

The game is pretty brillant, and adds a lot of elements to the open world genre, that I hope other producers will use.

On the other hand, I wouldn't have given it a 10/10. with the ressources they clearly had, they could have made better in my humble opinion. Shrines were a nice thing, but 120 ? Too much, and too grindy.

I also can't help but feel that the dungeons were way too short and easy, and pretty forgettable. I guess there could have been a better balance between dungeons and shrines. Bosses were also pretty bland.

Story wise... the idea of amnesia was a good one, but I feel it's sort of hard to care for all those characters who are obviously dead. The only character that will give you any sort of emotion is Zelda, and I guess only if you go through all the memories.

Anyway, really good adventure. I hope they can make another one for the Switch in the near future. Working on all those elements and making a more polished gem.

I'd really like a quick equip option, like you have with the weapons.
Being able to set equipment sets and change quickly would be a great improvemen.

Final boss was completely anticlimactic. First phase should have had more mechanics and involved breaking the mechanical parts to lower his shield.

Light arrows should have been an intermediate phase to weaken Calamity Ganon, and then you have to climb on him and fight shit on his back before stabbing the Master Sword into his head to seal him.

Both climbing and limb breaking were underutilized throuhout the game and Ganon's designs were perfect for them. Would've felt so climactic to crawl around on beast Ganon's back before delivering the final blow to his weak point like in TP.

My biggest issue with shrines is that so many are just Blessings. Like half of them. Should've been more puzzle shrines. Also shrines should've had different themes depending on the region to blend in and have variety. Big trees for forests, sandstone for deserts, igloo-ish things for cold places, etc.

Plateau was originally the Sheikah activation point, but because of its topography it looks like the Hyrule authority made it into a military fortress at some point.

There's a front gate but it's blocked by rubble and the entrance ramp is flooded. Would've made for an absolutely unsiegable fort in its prime.

It sort of was for the first time in Breath of the Wild. Not that I think the soundtrack itself is weak mind you, but music itself never really played a central focus in this game unlike most of the rest.

How do I get harth to remake the great eagle bow? I've got all the materials and beaten the divine beasts but every time I talk to him he just tells me what I need and that's the end of it. What am I doing wrong?

I really wish this fight had been handled differently. The actual setting of fighting a huge ass wild beast form of Ganon in Hyrule Field itself is incredible, especially when you'd just been exploring said Hyrule field during regular gameplay previously.

But of course there was no tension, and banishing Ganon with something other than the Master Sword just doesn't sit well with me.

So I've been having some difficulties with ideas for what a folder picture in my flash drive should be. It's a Zelda Artwork folder and I'm having a hard time in deciding what picture best describes the artwork of Zelda but can't be mistaken as a normal picture file. Riju really is a badass, her and Urbosa. The Gerudo got some of the best and most fleshed out characters in the game, while the Zora ones are a mixed bag and the other two are just bleh.

We need more traditional Zelda enemies that require special mechanics to beat because 90% of the stuff we encounter are sponges. Minibosses with weakpoints like the Talus and Skulnox are great. Lynels are cool but spongy as fuck.

Some ideas for interesting enemy mechanics:
>Darknuts, Iron Knuckles, or some other big armored foe where you have to take off their armor with magnesis
>Normal weapon users like Bokoblins/Moblins where you have to parry them to take down their guard and deal damage
>Alternatively introduce heavy shields and enemies that can only be beaten by snatching the shield like that one ALBW boss
>Volcanic creatures which require you to use cryosis on and then break the resulting rock with a heavy weapon
>Creatures with retracted weak points or thick hides that can only be damaged with spears because spears aren't very useful as is


MORE FUCKING ENEMIES YOU HAVE TO CLIMB ON. Only the Talus does this and it's not even required despite being a big reveal during the Treehouse stream. There should be colossal guardians with multi-tiered bodies where you have to climb up them and hit their weak points. The final stage of the final boss should have required you to climb Ganon's back while fighting off malice-infested Keese and dodging guardian turrets.

MORE FUCKING ENEMIES WHERE YOU CAN BREAK THEIR LIMBS. Right now only guardian stalkers have breakable limbs. Skulnox should have had breakable legs instead of just collapsing when it takes enough damage. Obviously they have to keep the rating down so you can't go all out like Bloodborne where you're literally breaking some giant dog's legs and having blood splash everywhere, but it's not hard to come up with creative enemy designs with dynamic bodies.

Being too far away from an agroed Lynel is not good, they will use homing arrows on you that come strait down, and because its raining and its using lightning arrows it will be an explosion.

You will get popped learning, but learn how to dodge their charge attacks, most of your damage will be done here.

If they start shooting fireballs, stasis them and get to their sides or run behind something.

If you find yourself getting one shot, Soldier's Armor and Defense food is your friend.

If you can stun them (shot to the face, electric arrow, etc) get to their side asap, stasis them for longer time and mount their ass and get some weapon damage free hits in.

Never get cocky, always be on the defensive.
