So, Nomura randomly naming White Queen as a favorite Disney character- hint of an Underland world? It has a good bossfight built into it anyway. There are multiple recipes for each Spirit, which can make slightly different variations (rank/stat).

The recipe items are just one recipe, usually the easiest one. In the synth menu you can tab over to your ingredient list and synth a Spirit from there.
Select one ingredient and it will show you all the compatible ingredients, as well as show you which Spirit it'll make (or their silhouette if you don't have it).

As for objectives, if you have your katakana down it should become very easy, but here are a few words you'll want.
状態異常 (じょうたいいじょう), abnormal status (typically "don't get afflicted")

以上 (いじょう) and 以下 (いか), "at least/more than" and "at most/less than" (attack numbers or ability uses)
^These two are used quite a lot, so you'll memorize them in no time.

宝箱 (たからばこ), treasure chest (usually open all)

There are some more kanji that get used heavily but I think you can discern the meaning of the objective through context and what kana is also there.

LV8 is the only one that unlocks recipes. 2-4 allow you to use Energy/Brightness/Serenity, 5-7 and 9 cut recipe costs.

If you ask me, KHII's system is basically perfect. The synthesis menu is ez and the unlocks make it even easier.
Drop rates are properly balanced and there are tons of drop boosting abilities and equipment.

I'd be hard-pressed to find a flaw. They'd be making a huge mistake by not copying it for KHIII.

So magic and shit is actually awesome. I never knew. So many fights made easier that I struggled with on the PS2. Gravity brings down Maleficent's boulder in one shot, Leaf Bracer lets me tank out Riku's stupid dark dash spam, Fire actually does pretty respectable damage for basically zero cost at higher MPs. Is it just as fun in KH2?

I think a lot of people overlook what Sora's going through in CoM.

He's being manipulated back and forth, his memories are jumbling up and crumbling around him. He believes a childhood friend is being held captive (and in Larxene's case, openly abused) by the same people toying with him. It's no coincidence that he's ruthless in his pursuit.

Retroactively, we know that this Sora is without Ventus's heart, though we can't know how much of an impact that makes.
But Data-Sora is the only other time we see a Ventus-less Sora for comparison, and their dispositions are vaguely similar.

This is what I've been using. One turns everything, keeps enough bars to go right back in again as long as I average like 1app per quest. It's mostly a matter of having a strong medal to finish off each copter since everything else won't OHKO you.

It's just tricky and the punishment is so bad most people recommend to just restart the fight if LW starts with it.

He's got like three "types" of the first phase, and if he opens with the magic circle then that means he'll use it a lot. So if he does, just restart.

idk if you're still here anon but your choice affects ability progression. if you're doing crit, shield is the way to go, you get second chance and once more waaay earlier. otherwise go sword. only get staff if you want blizzard/fire boost really early and don't think you'll be doing a lot, otherwise it's pretty useless, though it does get lucky lucky earliest if memory recalls so if you're going for jimminy completion it's pretty useful

I'm playing KH for the first time since original release when I was ten (the new Final Mix compilation version this time, though). I picked the Sword and threw away the Staff at the start of the game because I liked just mashing shit with my keyblade. I now know this was retarded and the most suboptimal way of playing.
