You need to play a minion and bounce it 3 times, then play a spell to start getting the benefits of the quest. That's convoluted and doesn't help you control the board and do other useful stuff.

For mage quest you can use plethora of card generators like babbling book, new 2/3 get a secret, other discover and card generation effects. At the same time spells do relevant things fast and help get your arcane giants cost down. Reward is fun and interactive combo that opponent can't stop.

It's pretty much guaranteed what you will complete quest and play it out before turn 7, while backstabs and si7 will win games against aggro. Also you literally don't need any new cards besides quest and possibly 1-drop freeze elem.

At the same time with mage random spells can just lose you the game since actually need to play them out. There is more than enough bad spells in hs.

No? Why would run it, you want to draw a lot of cards to get bounces faster, not get 2 of random card from your deck for 3. For draw you can run shivs, prep sprint and engies. Pod can give you non bounce, or worse 2 of card you not gonna bounce because you already bouncing another.

You basically have an unkillable ragnaros that fires exactly when you want him to for the remainder of the game, all while you are hiding in your taunt + control pillowfort.

No it isn't there's no good cards to help with that, even reno is going which was the only worthwhile heal we had. During the first few weeks of a release people always play greedy decks like c'thun and think it's broken only for old aggro decks from previous metas to kill everyones fun. Jade druid is an example which will entirely fuck off any quest decks, maybe not mage if they can otk them but for the most part they will autolose.
