It seems like OoT is the Sealing War as desribed in LttP, except instead of a massive war that was barely won by locking Ganon in with the triforce, it was a single battle fought by one guy to lock Ganon in with a piece of the triforce.
It seemed easier to rectify the difference by saying if there wasn't a Link in OoT then LttP is what would happen.

Ok, remember that part where Zelda sent the Hero of time back?

Well that timeline still continues, with Hyrule in ruins and with no Hero in it, that's the adult timeline. As we're told in WW, when Ganon showed up again, there was no hero so the goddesses decided to pull a god on Hyrule and flooded everything. But there was no Noe and no Ark, so everyone but a handful of people died.

Downfall timeline is basically a "Link lost in the final fight" so the sages have to go all out in a war against Ganon, also called the imprisoning war.

Uh, I'm not following you, but basically Adult timeline is what you see after you pull the sword in OoT, with Hyrule in ruins and it continues after Link saves all the sages and defeats Ganon. When Ganon comes back, Hyrule is flooded, because Zelda sent Link back in time with the Ocarina creating a split.

Child timeline is basically this same Link coming back and meeting Zelda for the first time, but having all the information to have the King of the Gerudo executed before he can do anything, plus Link never pulls this Master Sword so the Sacred Realm is protected.

The game to some extent, expects you to get a horse and use it to get to Kakariko and Hatelia.

After that it expects you to pick up on the fact that Horses are a fast way to travel the land by following the roads. Also it helps out to plan how to approach other areas, since you can follow the road and see most other things in the distance anyways, so it's nice.

I really love how useful horses are in this game, compared to all sorts of travel forms in previous zelda games.

I have come to accept the fact that Lynel weapons were meant to be used against Lynels. They break, they break.

I tried the whole Lightning arrow to the head and it rarely stuns them. I tried the Urbosa's thing and they generally hit me mid animation stopping it.

But I am great at dodging and eating ATK up food.

It needs to be race specific because they were given to the people at the four corners of the world and correspond to specific element. Only the best person of that race could pilot it. Could you imagine a Zora trying to control Vah Naboris or a Rito trying to control vah Rudania?

And again, I don't think it specifically need be a member of any given race that needs to be the one to control the Divine Beast. The Champs are based on the Sheikah coming up with a way of streamlining Demise's cycle by weakening Ganon as soon as he wakes up with the Divine Beasts so Link can just slap his shit and get it over with.

I think this should be in the OP: How to make Wolf Link have 20 hearts without ever doing Cave of Shadows or even playing TPHD (but you have to own it)

1. Make sure your Amiibo's registration data is wiped. Go to Wii Settings > Amiibo Settings > Reset Amiibo. It'll prompt you to scan the Amiibo and then once more to confirm that you're resetting. This is not the same as deleting. I didn't even have any data on the Amiibo to delete. The key is in the registration.

2. Boot up TP and start a new game. It can be on any file, first, second, third; doesn't matter. Skip the first cutscene and you'll have control over Link. Hit down on the D-Pad, Save game and you don't even have to exit to menu or keep playing, just close software.

3. Once you're back on the Wii U menu, open the game once more, select the save log you just created and the Amiibo icon should be slowly flashing. This is where you scan. It will then ask you to register this Amiibo; accept and it'll take you to a Wii U menu screen where you scan and register. Your Mii will jump and you'll hear the "AMIIBO!" noise confirming you registered. It will ask you to scan your Amiibo once more; do it and then allow the Amiibo to access this save log for a quickload.

4. The game won't ask you to do anything else, it assumes you'll scan the Amiibo at your leisure to access the Cave of Shadows; forget that. Pop TP out, throw it aside and put BoTW back in. Scanning your Wolf Link Amiibo from here on out will result in it spawning with 20 hearts.

It felt like the majority of Zelda's character was just "waah I can't get these powers to work". Which would have been fine given the payoff of them finally working in the last memory, but it's just dragged out for way too long. Maybe 3 memories tops of each spring and Zelda still failing and 1-2 with her in other places, then give more memories to the other Champions talking to Link/about Zelda like the Gerudo story memory.
