reminder that dual UGS one comboing people to death is not a new thing, and in DS2 could easily do it without even applying all the buffs. Once the shitters leave, people memorize the moveset, and the meta is more defined, 2UGS will no longer be a pvp viable weapon

Going 60 FAI with Dragonslayer Spear gets you just over 30 AR from base Faith, 510 AR overall with base STR to 2hand and 40 Dex/60 Faith. Meanwhile a standard 40/40 gets 522 AR all of that scaling going to pure physical damage of which the DSS has more of. You can go the Dex/Fai route with it but it won't do as much damage in essence.

Jump off the elevator between Ringed Inner Wall and the statue of Gwyn with the pygmy. Hang a left from there to the room with a bunch of black knight statues. The statue without any weapon is an illusory wall. Midir's entrance is that way.

I killed a slave knight wandering around the final battlefield, and he dropped two things, some chunks and something else, I hit X too quickly and missed it.

So whats the story with this DLC? I never get the DLC's, but I'd like to know if it adds anything cool to the game, like some fun story bits or cool weapons.

So I've just finished The Ringed City and I can't seem to figure out how to access Ashes of Ariandel now. I realize I shouldn't have done them out of order but there must be a way to access Ashes right? Or is heading to the next NG the only way? Any help much appreciated.

Ideas for good invading STR builds? Currently using ultragreatsword at SL 70 and 40 STR. But I have zero poise so I keep getting stunlocked and fucked. Not to mention combat is impossible if the enemy has enough space to maneuver. I don't want to go back to straight swords and dex builds.

was the frost bite aux changed? Does it get a damage boost when it procs like bleed takes a large chunk of your HP? I ask because I'm on my first ever pure mage type. Only putting just enough points into strength and dexterity to wield the Moonlight GS. However I got my hands on the Ice Straight Sword from the first pontiff knight you run into. Not upgraded, with only base stats, I'm doing 90 damage per swing, and getting frostbite proc on 3 swings. I'll hear the noise that I got a frostbite proc, and the enemies HP show they just took 390 damage on swing 3.

I pretty much "stun locked" Crystal Sage because I kept getting proc's on him and he never casted any spells and wouldn't swing his weapons when I was near. Honestly if this sword holds up, I might just forgo MGS.

Frosts damage proc is now % based. Irithyll SS is decent but is only good Quality however so it won't sync well with a mage build as the game goes on. You can get Snap Freeze from Ariandel if you want since that's the best Frost-inflicting tool in the game aside from Vordt's now.

Flashsword is a better PvP spell once you get 60 INT + Rings but the Preacher Arm WA basically invalidates its purpose.

Crystal Soulmass takes noticeably longer to cast, costs more FP and doesn't have enough damage to compensate. Just compare casting the two and you'll see. A good mage will be able to constantly keep Soulmass up while pressuring people with it due to how fast it is to catch making them a nightmare to approach when paired with something like a Longsword.

Playing against these weapons is basically the same as playing with 1 HP.

If they manage to hit you literally just ONCE you are confirmed dead

And if you are the kind of player who is able to win fights without ever getting hit once, its no surprise to me you have no issues with the weapon.

Its phantom range is just broken and it stuns on 4 hits in a row.

Flashsword eats up a decent chunk of FP dealing with most basic enemies compared to Great Heavy Soul Arrow. Check the base AR of your Longsword with your Irithyll Sword and see, Magic Weapon should make the Longsword due more while its active however. You definitely want to get the Sage's Coal from Farron Keep if you haven't got it already since it will let you use the Crystal infusion, and you should probably infuse your Longsword with Crystal when you get more INT as it will do more consistent damage. Buffed with 60 INT CMW will do more damage but the infusion will be consistent and a trusty weapon when you're out of FP or can't cast.

In regular PvE there's usually enough space to use GSHA after making some distance, the only time Flashsword would be more useful is dealing with shitty trash mobs like rats. good for you anon! How did you get them? I went for 100% achievements on DaS3 and ended up never getting summons for Watchdogs. EVER. At any level. EVER. So I ended up beating the entire game, every boss, getting every soul and using it for regular souls. Overleveled (around 225), made a 99 luck build with crystal sage rapier, gold serpent ring, gold/bronze coins, and farmed the gruul fuckers right before watchers of the abyss.

The forward thrust of the swords is the longest range thrust in the game and quit a bit longer than the weapon model suggests. If they land that thrust, you die.

Again, you are basically fighting with 1 HP, basically doing a "no-hit PvP run".

I have yet to see someone get fucking "countered" by a crossbow.

The only counter to the weapon i found so far is the giant door. If the player is good, you wont be able to rull behind him, like with every good free aiming greatweapon user. They know you are going to do this.

I would really like to see a webm of this whole rolling/crossbow thing. I spent a shitload of time playing with the Twinned UGS and i haven't lost a single time yet. One guy was using an avelyn with splitting bolts and i would just keep rolling towards him, eventually got him and combod him for 1600 damage. Thats some DS2 levels of damage in one combo.
