The game has fantastic 10/10 combat, but doesn't matter because enemy variety, and world design is straight up trash. Turning the 10/10 combat into spam highest ki-drain attacks into your strongest attack after they're drained for the entire game.

In practice is it worth getting 60 STR for the PUGS? On mugen the AR is 546 at 40 and goes to 571 at 60. Doesn't seem all that significant, but there seems to be lots of attacks in the string so maybe it's worth it?

Dex faith is tough because your damage output is so shitty and all the things you need to make it work (sunlight blade, poison stone, sacred oath, katanas, etc.) don't show up until late into the game.

Any faith quality weapon does more damage with strength than dex anyway.

It's basically just a pure dex playthrough except you trade 40 stats points for the ability to heal forever.

I suggest you grab a partizan since the R2s deal strike damage, which almost no dex weapons do, so you can have an alternative to deal with heavy armored enemies.

The entire game's story revolves around dumping a bunch of existential nonsense on your lap and having you sort it all out for yourself. Only an inbicile would find something like this facinating, mostly because they wouldn't know how to comprehend whats actually being conveyed to them in the story. Yeah, it gives the series some closure. Seeing the literal end of the timeline is neat.

Last boss comes close. Pulls a Ludwig phase transition. Music is strong, but not as soaring as Ludwigs was.

Dex has the least physical damage output and gets its best weapons late into the game.

Faith has the least elemental damage output and gets its best equipment late into the game.

Combine the two and they just make the problems of each one worse. You need Boltstone/Poison Stone, Flynn's Ring, Sacred Oath, Dragon chime, great magic barrier, and sunlight blade in order to make dex/faith work.

Dex/Hex would be better because at least you could do a poison-focused build since pyro, hex, and dex all have poison options.

I like Souls, AC, and Metal Gear, so that sounds right up my ally. You have to play DS1 at least twice to get all the story, some AC games you have to play through 6 times just to fight all the enemies, etc. I don't mind that.

I'm not into Nier for the story anyway, it's all for the atmosphere and gameplay, which looks top notch.

Yeah you can cast anything with it if you meet the spell requirements, though the weaponart won't work. It's good for casting things like hidden body, magic shield, etc since it weighs less than a stave.

Not really, it just has the 2nd highest stability and doesn't have the huge stamina penalty that GoG does. Plus I'm a full STR build and I think it looks neat. You also are less susceptible to kicks and ultras.

If you want to use any weapon arts tho BKS or Wolf Knight is definitely the way to go.

When you roll to dodge the ultra R1 don't swing immediately, just walk up to them and see what they do. If he panic rolls immediately then try to roll catch.

AoA was bad. It was about just about nothing other than Friede and Friede is genuinely a mediocre fight.

Friede exemplified everything cancerous about 3's design principle- to make everything as epic and hard as possible. There were eight hit combos where you mash roll until you get hit, sampled orchestras and chanting, more phases with bigger health pools, giant explosions, etc. Her third phase was also hard in the worst way- super long combos with occasionally almost no recovery. There were good segments- the wolves, the village- but they were so short. It was all so short. I had a SL70 faith character and I decided to run through AoA to unlock the Ringed City, and the entire DLC took me about 25 minutes total because I just summoned Gael and stunlocked her with a raw ASS with lightning blade.

It sucks.

First realize that none of your spells will ever be viable to get through the game until you get Lightning Arrow.

Nobody cares about Demon Firesage or Stray Demon since they're just reskins of the tutorial boss.

Skeleton Lords is pretty forgettable, people don't remember them much compared to Prowling Magus and Congregation or Covetous Demon since those last two are memorable for being such disappointments.

I rarely see anyone ever talk about the Rotten.

Demon of Song rarely gets mentioned since it's literally just a sponge mob enemy that blocks your way to Undead Crypt.

As for DaS3, the only ones that comes to mind are Greatwood and Crystal Sage.
