Supposedly, those bullet you fire after a sidestep in Brave mode are Internal Ammo. I don't know if they just use your Internal Ammo to determine what they are, or if they actually eat up your Ammo. Either way, there's potential for some insane DPS alongside Ammo Saver.

They have major competition from, say, Alatreon gear, but for some weapons I could fully see the Valfalk weapons being a legitimate choice. I'm not too familiar with the meta of MHXX, but I'd think that the DB's may find a home.

Crouching Fire is analogous to Rapid Fire. The difference between the two is that Rapid Fire is quick and easy to use, only requiring a slightly longer window than a non-RF shot, but Crouching Fire requires a very large window to be used safely.

There's a lot of room to amplify that and make Crouching Fire safer. There's not much you could do for the LBG.

My suggestion would be to allow you to run at a reduced speed whilst Rapid Firing and reloading, and run unhindered with non-RF shots.

You can to go into first person mode, and then your hops will fire at where you where aiming last, even if you side hop it'll still fire at that exact spot, so it's not as hard as you think. The real issue is just how painfully weak and useless the shots are, and they don't change base off of the ammo you use ether, it's just 'free' bullets that cause low KO and stamina drain.

They're slightly worse at Purple, nearly identical at white, and slightly better at Blue. Unlike Jho, they need literally NO sharpness armour skill.

Again, depending on how restrictive armour skills are, they may actually be better than Jho's. For example, if you're trading S+2 and RS for Repeat Offender and Elemental Crit, the Valfalk weapons might well be stronger.

I agree that the Jho DB's *PROBABLY* outclass them though, I'm just trying to give anon some hope.

I was wondering, does Aerial IG's slingshot vault have any I-frames?
For that matter, does any of the IG's vault have i-frames? How viable are they for evasion? Am I stuck using the roll for evade?

I don't have MHX/XX, I'm debating which weapon to pick for the main game. I'd rather learn another weapon than stick with what I know already, and the slingshot vault looks pretty fun.

Vaults don't have i-frames. They're not even recommended for positioning since you're so vulnerable mid-air. The slingshot vault for aerial is good for keeping up with the monster tho (unless your soloing, which doesn't make that much of a difference, so Guild ends up being better for the extra Hunter art)

Striker is kinda gimped, but is ok for monsters that don't offer big openings for the infinite combo, like Garuga.
Adept is kinda lame since your extracts are limited to the kinsect AI, but some people like the style.

I want a giant Mantis Shrimp as the newest Carapaceon. It can do tailspins, knock you out with super fast punches, and is able to flash hunters (based on the cavitation phenomenon underwater, not sure how that would translate for land)

The reason why Daora is used more is because it can siege Pierce 1 very well, and Pierce 1 is very very good. It hits multiple times like Pierce should, but doesn't penetrate very deep, allowing more of the hits to register on a weak zone.
The competition for Daora isn't Akantor's but Diablos'. Diablos' can siege Pierce 1 and 2, so you should use it for pierce multi monster quest, but it falls off because of the bad affinity not allowing for critmeme.
Akantor's is more for Normal shot vulnerable monster, where Pierce won't be as effective.

The problem is that it can only siege Pierce 2. The appeal of Diablos is that it sieges both Pierce 1 and 2, so it has advantage over Daora only in multi monster quest where Daora won't have enough Pierce 1s.

Shot Booster IS a damage skill. It ensures all your hits on the pierce ammo to hit in critical distance, which is a big multiplier for your damage.
The only thing I could think of fitting into three 2 slots left on the armor is Attack Up Small probably, and Shot Booster will do more for you than that. Especially if you're going to go multiplayer.
