My primary question is where to go for levelling 50-60. Are crossclasses necessary for levelling DoH, or is it better to just grind things out to 60 before worrying about that shit since you'll get all the crossclass anyway? I am aware of collectables, turnins, and challenge log/moogle dailies. Anything else I should know for leveling to 60?

Moogle dailies seem to do a good job at getting DoH jobs a boost to 55, but after that it feels like they suck ass. What should I be doing? I have gatherers at 60, so I don't think resources are a problem

As far as moneymaking goes, I assume it's mostly a matter of watching the markets, but some tips as to what volatile things are that can turn the best profit are regardless of server would be nice. I am on balmung

cross classes help so much even with leveling but they aren't 100% necessary, leveling 51-60 can be a bit tricky but you generally use a combination of levequests, 300k xp manuals, and collectables

yeah all that daily stuff like moogles and what not help but I didn't really wait for those, since you have gatherers if gil is an issue, you can just go out and wack something like hardsilver sand for a while, then craft like 150 hardsilver nuggets for instance, to level from 55-60

on balmung profits are hard to be had in all honesty, theres so much players that everything gets devalued since every market is somewhat saturated, so your gatherers are less value as they you won't gather enough resources to make any reasonable gil, you buy mats when they slightly dip or buy discounted mats through pf, then craft and selll an item as high as possible (ironworks and things that are more limited mats to craft are worth more)

there's a few qualities you don't consider here, one is that the gil does have the advantage of being used for housing

discounting that, since everything moves slower if you like to do things other than craft, you can turn a profit while not having your hip attached to the market board

similarly you're correct in regards to how everythings more expensive and you wanna gather the mats to craft if you can in all honesty, but that's where knowing people and favors come in, find someone who will make the item for you and not rip you off, and if worst comes to worse yeah you're spending your higher chunk of gil than you normally would have on potions more expensive than they would be normally but it ends up evening out in such a case

the real factors you should take into consideration is how much do you just like crafting all day, how important housing is, and the amount or particular people around

Balmung and Gilgamesh after it are the only relevant /xivg/ servers, but they are perpetually full and Balmung especially is so full that the only way to get in is through a character transfer. Im not sure if you can make alts on the trial, but its not worth making alts in their game as it costs you $2 more a month to have them and you can do everything on one character. You obviously keep all your progress when/if you buy the full game.

Plus, given how Shiva is one of the most popular summons in FF, it gives them an out to use her later if they want. With the way Primals work, Shiva can show up again without the need to make her Ysayle. All it would take is another vessel who believed strongly enough, or a bunch of fanatics with a mountain of crystals to say "This is our goddess Shiva! She is the best and fuck you for thinking otherwise!"

Well that first part isn't really true, a Primal still saps the life out of the land a lot so if she would have kept it up I imagine we would have had to kill her or at least maybe shake her by the collar a bit.

Thanks to Cid's efforts there's a lot more engineers well trained in a lot of stuff, and even Ishgard is starting to produce magitek weaponry and non-promethium fuelled single-seater aircraft.

Did you not pay attention to any of the story this expansion?

The Shiva we see, the sexy blue lady with ice powers, is not the Shiva that Hraesvelgr loved and devoured. Not her soul, not a manifestation of her will, her spirit isn't channeling power into Ysayle, or any of that crap...Ysayle only tricked herself into thinking she was the reincarnation of Lady Shiva. Hraesvelgr even tells her she's delusional and that she, nor the thing she turns into, is Shiva. What Ysayle turns into is the personification of her desire to emulate Shiva, fueled by Aether.
In most cases this is how primals work. Taking the form that their "Subjects" believe they would take. Occasional exceptions may appear like Odin, but they're few.

So it is possible for another Shiva primal to show up down the line if they wished, the only difference between it and the previous one is that it would (Probably) have an entirely new personality, one born of pure Aether the way other primals are, as opposed to just being Ysayle. Such a primal would not be the WoL's friend. At best it would be a pragmatic but slightly dickish figure like Ramuh. At worst, it would be a complete psycho cunt like Garuda who decorates her battle arena with frozen lala-cicles and chandeliers of ice made from the frozen blood of trespassers.
