It doesn't bother me as much when there are actual troop movements, or the attackers appear out of a gate. But the invisible troops popping up for an ambush is dumb. It's totally possible for them to not show the ambushing officers and soldiers on your main map most of the time, but that still doesn't stop them.

That's kind of down on the lists of problems that Koei's musou games have, though.

Probably one thing that annoys me the most is that they still delay events for queued messages. Especially when the messages are completely useless, like the number of enemies defeated or officer defeat annoucements. It's ok. Remember Gundam Musou 3: Hallways and Boxes the map? Extella took out the hallways, so the map is an interconnected series of boxes. Each box pretty much acts like a base in DW where you gotta kill dudes to take it over. These bases are directly tied to morale. I hope you like Nero/Tamamo/Altera because that's who you're gonna be playing as through the story, though you can switch to a set secondary character if you're wearing a mystic code that has that ability.

Not really, it's just that they try to make everyone look likeable in DW, so you're always fighting on the good, strong and smart side with events changing according to which faction you choose.
Most of the controversial stuff about Shu is either completely removed or overlooked too.
(also Shu officers get crazy stats in RTK games)

I'm pretty sure that Guan Yu doesn't get post-death appearances in the Japanese version of the novel either, so Koei doesn't really deserve any credit here.
Also, the original post-death appearance in the Chinese novel was just him realizing he lived as a dickhead after being reprimanded by a monk.

Koei has got the portrayal of Wei from Souten Kouro, which was really popular when DW originally came out and glorified Cao Cao to a retarded degree, so this is kinda true, although you might also say that he's a very competent Machiavellian ruler in the novel too and it's not like DW delves in stuff like Liu Bei killing his adoptive son (who is the most closely related to the emperor) either.

Let me break down the Sun Ce's intro then. When Sun Ce was first introduced, it was actually Ling Cao, not Sun Ce himself, and Sun Ce was the wimpy cousin one. The series doesn't tell us when Sun Ce had Ling Cao act in his place, but it's safe to say that Sun Ce plotted this even before he went under Yuan Shu.
The one who Ling Cao killed to impress Yuan Shu was Xu Gong. Later, Yuan Shu gave Ling Cao troops in exchange for the imperial seal. But, Yuan Shu told Ling Cao to rest at a deserted inn before taking off to Jiang Dong, Yuan Shu then notify the remnant of Xu Gong's men to that inn to take revenge for their lord. Ling Cao aka "Sun Ce" died at that inn, thus removing a potential threat to Yuan Shu. While all this was happening, the real Sun Ce had already taken the borrowed troops to another place and began his conquering of Jiang Dong.
What I don't understand though is why the fuck did Sun Ce later send men to notify Yuan Shu that he's still alive.

Alright so I just started MS and played as William for most of the time. His attacks are straight out of Nioh but he's still fun to use.

The game feels good so far. You can roll again like in Samurai Warriors 2. The roll can be used to cancel the cool down of a charge attack.

There is horse so you run around like in one piece games. I prefer this.

The card assists are useful. Musou Fever is fun since it completely fills the screen with enemies.

The officer ai seems more active. I'm mainly talking about fighting other playable characters. The generics seem about the same as other musous.

Idk how the cards work yet.

There's a lot of missions in the story mode. Seems like the content is there unlike in Berserk Musou. Good music too.

The extensive drain on manpower and resources Wei was forced to expend on keeping the cities and outlying commanderies around Chang'an well-garrisoned just because there was a constant threat from Zhuge Liang, not to mention Sima Yi's need to maintain several times Zhuge's own number in the field whenever Zhuge Liang was actually campaigning. In other words, Zhuge Liang was tying up several times more Wei forces and materiel than he himself was actually fielding.
