We've spent literally months picking it apart, dissecting every aspect of this game we've never played, spoiling every element of the story for ourselves often in an inconsistent chronological order so as to gain a comprehensive understanding of the characters and plot in the best manner possible, and endlessly shitposting about every aspect of it to the point where we felt burnt out on it before it even releases.....SO IS IT ONLY WE WHO UNDERSTAND IT?

HOW CAN THEY BE SO BLIND? DON'T THEY SEE WHAT WE DO? CAN'T THEY TELL HOW BAD IT IS LIKE WE CAN? I feel sick. I wanted this game to be trashed. I wanted Atlus to be punished for all the shitty writing I'm not able to read as an EOP and the bad gameplay I've yet to experience.

It's definitely longer. Even native Japanese speakers seem to average playtimes in the 80~120 hours range for their first run, skewing toward longer playtime if you're particularly thorough (NPC dialogue changes fairly often, and there's a lot of small things to discover in addition to the main story + co-ops already being pretty lengthy).

There are some ways to speed things up a bit (getting the Death co-op to 5 will let you buy an accessory that regenerates 7SP per turn, with rank 7 slashing the price in half, which lets you clear dungeons faster, getting Hermit to at least 2 will sometimes let you uncover the whole map for a Mementos floor when you enter it so you can get around Mementos faster, and getting Wheel of Fortune to 7 will let you boost your affection points with one person per day for a small fee to speed up co-op progress), and the game's pacing is fast enough that it rarely drags (outside of maybe the deadline waits if you finish a palace early, since that can lead to a few weeks of nothing but co-ops/stat-raising/doing minor stuff).
