I'm kinda new to the game.. 90 hours.. just started doing ranked. Can somebody give me a quick run down of MMR that makes sense. My party mmr is 2.5K but my solo is 300~... I've only played 12 solo q ranked games, I've lost 8 of them.. but I never did terribly.. is it because i played supports like SS and SD and had a negative K-D for the most part?
Thanks in advance.. I'm really just trying to understand MMR and If i'm fucked now since I'm stuck in sub 2K

You dun fucked up, you should not have started to play ranked until you have about 1k hours in dota, because at that point you start to understand what is going on. Trust me, at 500 hours you will look back and realize how little you knew until that point, and this will only continue until you reach your apex understanding of the game (some people never git gud) and others are limited by their mechanical skills. They can have great game knowledge but their reaction times will only carry them so far.
300 mmr is the absolute trench, enjoy climbing out.

wow that really sucks.. So basically it's just a luck thing? lmao like if i would have started with not bad teams and won all 10 of my first ranks I would have been placed at a higher mmr originally? that's really shit.. I used to play league and I get the ranking in it.. but wow that's really shit.. I'll sadly probably just not play ranked if that's how it is.. because about half of my 12 first games at least one person on my team went approx negative 15.. i never did that bad.. I had a game with brew and went 17-2-8 and all my games with SS or SD went fine for me.. just bad team.. Sadly might have to return to league if that's it lol...

It's horrible.. I won the first 4 because the average MMR was like 1.5-2.5 but as soon as I lost two games in a row it dropped to 800 and then it was like 500.. My teams are actually horrible.. I hope you guys understand that I'm not actually that bad at the moba thing.. I'm pretty good at LoL and i've always wanted to make the switch.. but damn, I'm pretty pissed that I might have fucked myself over.

I did the same thing you did and started playing ranked too early because I didn't know any better. I started at about 500 hours and I calibrated at 1500 MMR. Meanwhile now, 1500 hours later, I play at high skill unranked but I'm at 2k MMR because I haven't played ranked all that much. You fucked up.

There is a reason why people play league/dota over one another. League is simpler, and easier to learn, dota has a skill ceiling that is stupid high. Even pros mess up when min/maxing their builds or positioning. If you want to play a game where you can have a lot of room to git gud, dota is for you.
If you want a skill shot, fast paced game than league is more for you, dota plays like an old school RTS where you have to plan you every move and itemize according to your enemy/your draft.

There is a hidden mmr for unranked games that affects your initial ranked mmr calibration.
If you make a new account, you'll be playing better than you were when you made your first account, meaning it'll be much easier for you to get to a playable mmr.

3k hours in league? Yeah you just calibrated too early. If you played for that long your mechanical skills/reaction times should be average and the only thing missing is your map awareness/positioning/knowledge about the skills that heroes use. Most of the information to help you git gud at dota comes from either analyzing pro games/listening to casters do that or just simply playing the game a lot. after I calibrated it took 3 months to get from middle of 2k to 4k. I am pretty much stuck at this mmr because it is where I belong, but just know you will be bashing your head against a wall trying to climb. as I said before, the longer you play the more you can look back and be like "holy shit I knew nothing about this game back then"
